Who Keller and Beecher and Alex
What Drinks and etc.
Where A bar in Chicago
When Tuesday eveningish
Warning Srsly? Beecher and Keller Luuurve each other. And are messed up. Nuff said?-but will play nicely with Alex there. Promise.

Being legit sucked. Chris had been making all the efforts he could to be as such, trying to do all his work, make all his payments, ecetera, and it blowed. Chris hadn't really ever tried to be clean, had ever tried to be on the more legal side of things, but here he was, doing paperwork for a meeting he had with some guy over a permit to sell alcohol at the new restuarant.

"Christ," Chris shook his head and sat back in his chair in the office he had in his house and shook his head, rubbing his face tiredly, "Fucking blue collar bullshit," He muttered, standing to start putting together the papers. It had been about twenty minutes since he spoke with Toby over the boards and he supposed he probably had kept the guy waiting long enough. Really, he had lost track of time, getting lost in a form's small print for a good ten minutes. But, he got it settled, he got it finished and he shoved the files he needed into a shoulder bag, grabbed his coat and keys and headed out, locking his door with a glance around as he did. Still habit to make sure no one was waiting in the shadows, what could he say? And after the surprise drop in by Stabler, Chris wasn't really taking any chances on dropping his guard. At least not for a little while.

He walked to the bar he had told Toby to be at, stepping in with a nod to a woman who was leaving, his eyes scanning over her as she passed. Seeing as he had had tits not a week ago, it was actually more of a 'I was hotter than her' glance than anything. Go figure. His gaze then set to looking for Toby, wondering if the man was already waiting for him. That thought made him smile, actually, and he almost hoped Toby was. Since the being a woman thing (which, admittedly, Chris never thought he would have), Chris had had moments, brief pauses, where he thought 'maybe it's okay'. As simple as that. He had always been comfortable letting his love for Beecher be known, when it came up, when it was doubted. But maybe he could let it be known all the time, shown all the time. Short moments of 'maybe' had been invading his thought processes, and it was starting to get to Chris. Mind, he had also been doing paperwork a lot, alone a lot, so perhaps that was it. Chris thought of the weirdest things when alone, or so he reasoned.

All that aside, Chris was looking forward to a drink. To just relax. And his body showed it as, even though he still looked like he was looking for someone, he also looked like he was happy to just be in the bar. Anything but fucking paperwork.

She'd lost quite a few, actually.

"Um," she rubs the back of her neck, "aside from Thomas, both Houses are gone, Ray's gone, his girls, Mark, Mark's girlfriend, Karen Davis and Peter. There may be others, but those are the ones I'm sure of. Just 'poof' gone." She downs her second drink in one swallow. "And it wasn't a kidnapping or just random departure. Peter was sub-letting my old place and all of his stuff is still there, but he's gone. No sign of forced entry or exit, no sign of a struggle. Nothing. Just - gone."

After that, she'd stopped counting and looking. That was depressing enough.

"I'm sorry for you," And that, he actually sounded sincere in. He knew the pain of losing family- the names, the way she said them, they sounded like family. Even if he didn't like her, he could emphathize. It was his way- even Schillinger had earned his sympathy, after losing his son.

"Shit, Alex," Chris raised his eyebrows, "That's fucking nuts," Not like Chris was known for being deep, for offering insights in time of need.

"Well, hey, not that it's any fucking consolation, but you still got me around. Toby here. Stabler, his partner, all that, right?" He also wasn't known as an optimist, either. Fancy that.

"Better than nothing." She hoists her latest drink and downs that one too. She'd ordinarily be a bit more diplomatic, but the diplomacy got left behind in Manhattan.

He returns the toast with a wry smile and takes a drink- there wasn't anything to say, to a woman that didn't want to be consoled.

Quirking a brow at that, Chris shrugged and had a drink as well before putting his hand down on the bar, as if moving right along.

"Well, fuck it, huh? No reason to dwell on things you can't change, right?" He had another drink, "Now, come on, Alex, tell me what I want to hear-You're getting the tattoo. Now is the time to talk about it, now that I'm getting you drunk, right?" He smiled a bit, nudging her lightly.

"Not sure I can shift quite that fast, but maybe."

She rubs a hand under her nose, scratching away an itch. She's a little buzzed, but not quite inebriated just yet.

"Do tattoo artists even do tats when people are drunk? I thought they stopped doing that years ago."

"You just gotta know where to go," Toby had to chuckle a little at that, although it was more for his benefit, than that of his companions. "Besides, you don't sound drunk to me,"

"Toby's got a point," Chris rubbed at the man's shoulder, as if either pointing out 'yes, that's Toby and he's clever' or 'the man with the point is mine'-he wasn't sure, "Besides, this one," Chris pulled his arm out of his sleeve to show his, "I barely even remember getting, I was so wasted. So, obviously, you just got to pay the right amount, right?"

She arches an eyebrow at them.

"Yeah, but this is about as 'wild' as I get. I'm all for the tattoo, but I don't want to come out of there with some crazy-ass shit that I have to spend a fortune either covering or removing."

Toby shrugged. "Decide what you want now, and finish getting wasted there. It's not really that big a deal," He hardly looked the type to have a tattoo, and his wasn't visible, but he spoke with authority. If she asked, well... he'd bullshit something.

"Exactly," Chris was getting more and more into this idea as they tossed it around, "Come on. Here," He had his bag with his papers at his feet and he tugged it up, pulling out a pen as he dragged over a napkin, pushing them to her, "Come on. Whip something up, alright, and we'll tell you if it's bullshit or not, alright? Come on, I got a few, Toby's got one," He'd let Toby handle that as he would, "We know, alright?"

That gets a laugh. Much less genuine smile than one would think.

"That'd work great... if I could draw." She waves a finger over the napkin. "Artist, I am not."

She takes another drink - smaller than the first few. "But, you think I should try the Foo dogs or the dragon?"

The smile doesn't fool him, but he gives her one of his own, more genuinely amused than one would think. Somehow, he couldn't take her loss, or fear of the tattoo, seriously. He didn't know what she was talking about, so once again he stayed silent, nursing his beer.

"Oh, hey, yeah," Chris nodded, and there was a moment where he found great amusement in the whole situation they were in. It was like a bad joke. Two ex-cons and A.D.A. walk into a bar...

Also, he was feeling smug. After the bullshit with Catherine and Toby, it was nice to have the man feel the jealousy of a woman being the attention. It wasn't the same angery jealousy of when it was a man Toby was focusing on when it was a woman-Men were for fucking, in Chris' eyes (Toby excluded, since he loved him too) and women were for loving. So, it was fair play for Chris to have this woman to flirt with in his own way after Toby had his damn lawyer bitch.

"Alex here was thinking of getting one of those Chinese dogs or dragon's on her chest, Toby," Chris said, looking over at the man, "Across from her bullet wound. Like I did with my tattoo."

She rolls her eyes and pulls out pictures. Foo dogs would appear fuzzy, but tough, the dragon is a standard Asian style dragon.

"The only other idea I've come up with is Celtic knotwork - some of the designs are specific to healing or protection. I figure both would come in handy."

She leans and looks at Toby again. "And what's with you? There some reason you don't like me? I didn't do anything... did I?" That'd be the Scotch talking there.

"Who said I don't like you? I'm a quiet drunk, who has no room to tell you how to permanently mark your body." A shoulder shrugged, although he did turn to humor her and at least seem to be paying more attention, giving the pictures a look over.

Chris wanted to push the little confrontation on, to see where it went, and he leaned back a bit so the two could see each other better, "I say the dragons, Alex, and don't worry about Toby-he gets pissy when drunk sometimes," Chris gave a smug smirk and reached his hand over to rub the back of Toby's neck, a more condescending gesture than anything.

She holds up a hand toward Toby. "Sorry. Getting a vibe. Granted, I'm off my game. You just seemed - annoyed that I'm here. I can go. Not sure I'll make it back to my place in one piece, but I can go." She waves a hand toward the door.

The glass in her hand finds its way back to the bar without losing any of its contents as she turns back to Chris.

"Yeah? You like the dragons?" She's ignoring the rest for the moment.

Toby swats at Chris' wrist, glaring in his direction. He tried for the understanding nod, landing somewhere near 'condescending' himself. "No, it's not you. Long day, remember? Don't worry about it," The rest of the conversation was lost to another long drink. That was as nice as he was goign to bother to play.

"Yeah. That and I think they look more badass, but what can I say, I'm a guy," Chris smirked, ignoring Toby's glare as he leaned forward again on the bar, taking a sip from his beer, "I say go for those, no doubt."

"All right." That said to Toby. The guy seems okay to her.

"Are they still badass if they're pink?" This in reference to the dragons, obviously. Not that she's planning on a pink dragon. She's thinking red or blue, maybe green. Not pink.

Well, she almost got something akin to a smile from Toby. That's an accomplishment, right?

"No. I'm not really a 'pink person'. Emerald green sounds like a good choice. Just gotta find someone who can draw it up and make it look pretty, but kick-ass too." She doesn't want some ugly-ass thing that's going to scare her when she looks in the mirror.
