Who: Han and Leia
What: Reuniting
Where: Kungsträdgården, Stockholm, Sweden
Warnings: Probably not. They swear in space-talk. It's safe for young ears.

Escaping from the Royal Palace had been a doddle for someone with a lifetime's experience at sneaking out from under the eyes of the people who were supposed to be watching her. There were a few alarms and fences to cause trouble, but nothing Leia couldn't handle. Navigating Stockholm was no more difficult, though she was impressed by the crowds. And surprised; it'd been a long while since she'd been anywhere with such an overwhelmingly humanoid population. Were there no other races on this planet at all?

A few people stared at her as though seeing someone familliar, but all apparently dismissed the resemblance as their imagination. Fortunately. She didn't really want to waste time bluffing and pretending to be someone else, she was in too much of a hurry.

Six months. Six months without a word, and he'd been here, wherever here was. Clearly not his fault, given that she'd been taken as abruptly and with as little warning. Her heart clenched when she thought of how pained Luke must be, back home. She had to find a way back, if it was at all possible. Not just for Luke, but for everyone. There was so much work to be done. Peace needed to be built, it didn't just spring up from the ashes of war like the legendary rebirthing firebirds.

Even so, she couldn't help being happy to set all of it aside for now.

Leia stood on the rim of the Fountain of Molin to give herself a bit more height, and wished she'd picked somewhere without quite so many people. She'd never spot Han at this rate.

Leia reeled a bit as the portkey sucked them through to somewhere else. That was an unpleasant experience, and she staggered a bit as they emerged. At least this new place was less crowded, less overwhelming. Leia was not used to being overwhelmed but this was certainly the day for it.

She listened mostly in silence as he explained the vortex and how it drew people in from elsewhere. Not just other places, but other times. That there was no going back.

This was going to take even more getting used to than she'd anticipated. Leia rubbed her forehead with her free hand; the other was still clasping Han's. "Maybe you're right," she agreed. Starting over and setting down all the duties she'd been handled...it was inconceivable. But what choice did she have? There was no way to contact the others, no way back, even the Falcon couldn't leave. They were trapped on this one planet.

Poor Han. For a man who'd been from one side of the galaxy to the other, that must be one of the hardest parts of the situation. She squeezed his hand, looking at him with concern and setting aside her own problems for the moment. "How have you been settling in? You've never been one for just accepting anything."
