Who: River Tam and V.
What: Walking, talking, asskicking.
When: Tuesday night.
Where: The streets of London.
Warnings: None that I can think of. Quirk?

Even though she wore what most would call "stompy boots", River Tam was whisper quiet as she walked around Brixton. She'd heard whispers that it wasn't the best part of town, but she wasn't afraid. Most people were motivated by wealth or power. River had no money with her and she would never allow herself to be overpowered. The hem of her skirt floated around her like the petals of a flower, her skinny legs stronger than they looked.

She was aware of footsteps behind her, but she couldn't hear any angry thoughts. She sometimes hated being a Reader, overhearing snatches of thought that she had no right knowing, but it was something she'd gotten used to a very long time ago.

"The new planets have horses. Never ridden one." She sounded sad about that; she'd seen many of them in her life, but when she was living with her parents they'd condemned them as vehicles of the poor, and upon escaping the Academy she'd only ever spent time on transports and ships.

His hand on her shoulder made her smile, and she shook her head. "My present is too far away. I can fight for tomorrow. But not my today." Her home was thousands of years off, most likely, and she knew anything she did on Earth That Was would only be a ripple, unlikely to affect the Alliance.
