Who: Cuddy and Slevin
What: Him bringing her food
When: Yesterdayish
Where: Um.. I guess their house? Her house.
Warnings: Who knows

She wasn't quite sure why this guy she barely knew was bringing her food, but she supposed she didn't mind him coming over. If he wanted to help, who was she to turn it down. Besides, it wasn't like anyone else was offering to bring her food. Not even her kids. She was doing paperwork, and waiting when she heard the door and went to go get it.

Opening it up, Lisa gave the guy a look over. He was young. And cute. Great. Just what she needed. She just didn't know if she was being sarcastic with herself or not.

"Well.. the good thing about being here is that.. with a small tiny little .. percent.. there's rarely a need to kill anyone around here. And if there is.. then the .. ten million superheroes are around to .. stop them.. including my kids.. which by the way.. uh.. not that I'm trying to scare you or discourage you.. but.. they could kill you six ways from sunday before you could say oops..but they'd never ever.. do that unless someone was hurting me.." she gave him a sympathetic expression.

"I think that's what kids do, though. They keep their parents safe. At least, they try." He would've been protective of his mother too, if she'd been alive.

"And really, don't worry. I'm not... it's not something I wanted to do. It was sort of thrown upon me."

She nodded a bit, "I believe you.. and this place is a good chance to start over. Everyone kind of.. gets one I guess by being here. Especially where no one really knows you."

For a moment she was quiet, and then figured it was a good thing to tell him before Mia or Jon got home, "Their.. father... was.. or well is I suppose.. Clark Kent.." she figured wherever he came from had Superman. Everyone had Superman right? Most places anyways. "Just not.. either of the ones that are.. here.. now."

"I was going to get my chance to start over after those two were gone. But this is more official." He was rather glad that the vortex had picked him up, to be honest - it was almost like the universe was confirming that his life was his, now.

"... you really are amazing." Slevin chuckled at her having kids with Superman, but then wondered how any man could ever live up to Superman ever again. He wondered how lonely her life was, being a single mother, pining for her lost husband - and it must be worse when there were "versions" of him around that weren't him. "I'm sorry he's not here, though. I truly am. Losing a loved one is the hardest thing anyone can live through."

"Well it's good that you've got it.. even if it's here.. and more.. official." he really was handling this whole thing better then most people. Most people needed a drink at the very least.

Lisa shrugged and waved her hand, "I'm not really.. I'm just their mom. Technically they're supposed to be.. two? But they disappeared when Clark did. And then a couple of months ago, they showed up without him and all grown up. Mostly grown up. Thanks.. it's.. I don't know.." she sighed a little. "I'm just tired of being alone I guess. Well.. so to speak."

Slevin squeezed her shoulders, sighing. "Nobody likes being alone. And I'm sorry you are." He looked at her, sighing. "You're not scared of me?"

"Yeah you're right.. thanks.." she gave a weak smile and then shook her head, "No.. you could've hurt me if you really wanted to. And I think you're too scared my kids will break every bone in your body if you try," she teased grinning a bit more.

Slevin ruffled her hair a little and grinned. "I promise, unless you directly had a hand in murdering my parents, we're kosher." He squeezed her shoulder again.

"I'll admit, avoiding broken bones dictates about 75% of my life choices, so yes. I'm not going to hurt you for that reason. Though, if you need help on assassination techniques, or if your kids want a crash course, I guess I could give one," he teased right back.

Mockingly glaring at her hair being ruffled, she batted at his hands. "I'm pretty sure I was in college when that happened.. and in New Jersey.. so I seriously don't think so.. the only people I've killed are on the operating table.." she gave a wry sort of smirk.

She patted his knee a bit, "Good choice then.. and hm.. actually I might take you up on that when House pisses me off beyond all reason. Or if that stupid Tritter asshole comes back."

"Well, I did kill a man with a baseball once. You can count on me for speedy and creative assistance." He laughed at her tiny hands batting his away, took one between his, and kissed a knuckle.

"Guess I've got to give you points there.. that was quick thinking. I think I saw something like that once.. might've been a tennis ball though.." she shrugged a little and then blushed a bit when he kissed the back of her hand.

"Don't blush. It makes you cuter. But I'll stop." He didn't know how much she was over Superman yet, if she was at all. It wasn't very gentlemanly of him, and for a guy who'd killed people, he was pretty gentlemanly.

"Telling me not to blush but it makes me cuter? Don't want me to be cuter then?" she questioned. She didn't seem to have any qualms about what he was doing. Yes, she missed Clark, but she more just missed having someone there. She was just lonely for the most part.

"Oh, I think you do an incredibly respectable job of being cute all on your own, but I'd rather let the lady tell me how cute she wants me to think she is." He shrugged and tucked her hair behind her ears.

"Oh.. is this like a .. me trying to determine .. if I'd like you to think I'm a little cute.. and that's supposed to reflect me.. thinking you should just be a nice man I invited over.. or a little cuter which means I might want.. more.. though you did ask me out on a date didn't you?" she tried to act like she was thinking long and hard about it. "I dont' think I'd mind if you thought I was .. very cute."

Slevin grinned. "Good. Because I'm going to kiss you, and you look like you know how to slap a guy. I mean, if you shot a man once, I'm assuming you can do that too."

He leaned forward and pressed his lips lightly to hers - no tongue, nothing too forward. It was a Sixth Grader At His First Dance kiss, just without the awkwardness.

Lisa blushed a bit anyways, and then leaned in and kissed him back gently on the lips. She was kissing some guy she barely knew. She really was lonely. But somehow she trusted him. And she liked him, more importantly.

After a moment she pulled back and smirked, "Just think about how good that'll be open mouthed."

"What kind of girl do you think I am? We haven't even been on a date yet. I don't know the important things about you - your favorite color, where you were born, why you became a doctor. Things like that."

"Good.. I like first dates before first kisses with tongue.. let's see.. blue, and I was born in Detroit, went to the University of Michigan.. um.. and.." she paused to think, "I was twelve and a neighborhood dog got ran over.. I wanted to help it.. and it just sort of evolved from there. Oh my mother said I had to marry a nice Jewish doctor, so I figured one better was being one myself."

He hadn't been expecting all the information, but it was all stuff he could have guessed if he'd been hard-pressed, save the bit about location.

"Anything you want to know about me that you don't already?"

That's because there wasn't anything really surprising about her, besides the fact that she'd been married to Clark Kent. "Hm.. well those times.. before all of that stuff went on.. but after.. you went to stay with him.. and minus.. getting yourself prepared for .. what you did.. what kind of things did you like to do?" he had to like something right?

"I do like baseball a lot. James Bond movies. I used to pretend that my ... he's not my dad, but Goodkat was as close as I ever got - I pretended he was a spy on secret missions. I like reading, and honestly, I think I'll be pretty good at this homicide detective thing." Slevin didn't know what else to say. He'd always thought his childhood was pretty normal, aside from his training.

"Baseball's good.. when I got to New York I used to go to a lot of games.. well first just with guys from school but then I actually liked it.." she shrugged a bit. "And reading's good.. and so are Bond movies, though I'm not really sure I could pick out my favorite. I think he was here actually.. but that really new one.. the blonde guy.. he was here for a while.."

"Baseball's awesome." He'd always wanted to pitch, but it wasn't like he'd been able to go to university, what with trying to keep two mob bosses thinking he'd died when he was ten.

"Eh. If the Sean Connery Bond shows up, I might have to cry like a girl at a Beatles concert, but that's about it." Slevin was a Bond purist.

Lisa laughed a little and patted his hand, "It happens to everyone Eventually someone they absolutely love from their childhood shows up and you're kind of awestruck. It's fun in an awkward 'you're-not-real' kind of way."
