The televison was on, but he wasn't paying attention to it. He was running out of pills. He had three, in the ashtray on the table in front of him. He'd gone to several differnt stores, bought two or three bottles everywhere he went. If his pills ran out, he'd move on to liquid relief.

He ran through the channels on the television. He was always amazind that with so many channels, nothing was ever on. He settled on a rerun of The Golden Girls, for the back ground noise, and flung his arm over his eyes. Maybe he'd get lucky, and fall asleep for a few hours.

The vampire shifted along with him, but accepted his weight once more when he settled back against him. "Good. I feel better as well, thank you," He knew he'd been a bit... blunt, when he'd arrived, and while he'd done his best not to abuse Gatlin's kindness before, he almost felt he was toeing the line, that night. Reaching over to the bedside table, Kai picked up the pack of cigarettes and lighter there, helping himself to one before offering them down to Gatlin.

Kai moved to his feet, careful not to disturb Gatlin too much, and headed for the fridge. He'd noticed all the alcohol, but didn't say anything, just added a couple glasses of ice to his arms. He brought the box of pizza and a bottle of whiskey back with him, considering it was pretty much all that was there, and better than nothing.

Passing the glasses over, he slid himself back on the bed behind Gat, pouring the drinks around him. "I figured this would suit us better than beer, no?"

Gatlin smiled as he pushed himself to sitting up. "Yeah, that's perfect." He settled agianst the headboard of the bed, leaving enough room for Kai to sit beside him.

He could get used to this, if Kai would just stay. Or at least come around a little more often. Gatlin was still hoping to get the vampire to turn him sometime, but the slow route of trying to get under his skin was, well, slow.

The vampire couldn't say he was really surprised; he could tell Gatlin was getting attached, getting... used to the idea of Kai, and what he was. What that meant. There was a subtle sense of something else, some ulterior motive on the boy's part, but Kai wrote it off as paranoia. It wasn't like he would deny Gatlin much of anything, at that point.

Still, he considered the boy a long minute, trying to decide what to say.

"You know I do not expect that of you, Gatlin. I am... grateful enough, for what you do for me," He didn't want Gat to think he was coming over for the sex, even if he did usually help Gat to completion, while he drank.
