Who: Kakia, Open to anyone.
Where: Monte Carlo, Eden Resort, Casino Floor
When: Early Evening
Warnings: Will update if needed.

While Kakia generally preferred games that required a bit of skill when gambling herself, there was something to be said for games of chance in a casino. Sure, one could hedge their bets or follow a strategy, but there came a point in most games of chance where one had to simply place their bet and hope that lady luck was smiling down on them. In Monte Carlo, the king of all games was Roulette, and that's where she sat, at the high bet table, watching the dealer work his magic.

She liked roulette in Monte Carlo, it was one of the few places in the world the old tables were still used, with the layout on either side and the wheel in the middle. And she did like the high rollers... When they played poker or blackjack they played to win, but roulette was played for fun. Most had a certain level of class or style about them, particularly at a resort of Eden's caliber, but there were always some who came to wave their money about. All too often they were American, for some reason.

Kakia was there to test her luck like any other, placing her bets with no strategy at all. She was playing on account, winning just slightly more often than she lost. Given that she had extremely strict rules for herself against cheating, she would have been pleased, had she actually been paying attention. Usually a source of invigoration for her, she was just as listless on the gambling floor as she'd been in most of her other ventures of late, vim and vigor having fallen by the wayside.

She placed her order for another martini to the closest waitress and placed her bet on the layout, nose curling lightly as she heard a patron arguing with the dealer. Looking up she listened for a moment, sighing as she heard the flat twang of he accent and took in the outfit - expensive jeans, silk shirt... the lack of style was appalling. And the topic of discussion... on any other night she'd have found the man's insistence that "the double green zero was his lucky bet, and what was wrong with the table and why couldn't he bet it" amusing... tonight it just annoyed. After a moment, she finally lifted her head, offering the man a particularly feral glare.

"Oh for fuck's sake... you're in Europe, not America. There is no double zero here. Just place your bet already, you stupid prat... the rest of us would like to get a move on." He hesitated only a moment before placing his bet, and she offered the dealer a simple nod. There were things she simply was not in the mood for.

Dolos was just entering the room when he heard his sister's irritated command. Oh, this should be interesting.

Moving to take the spot next to her, he leaned over to whisper in her ear.

"Oh, sweetcheeks, are we having a bad day?"

Oh, that was not the voice she was hoping to hear. She watched as the dealer took the bets off the table, and took time to place her next one before acknowledging her brother's presence. With a tilt ofher head, she turned to offer a bored smile.

"Hello, darling. Shouldn't you be off bailing out insurance companies?"

"It's my night off. Besides, I'm a right winger, I didn't vote for that. Have to keep up appearances, you know. Besides, the deceit in that was anything but cunning. Plain sight isn't as fun."

He laid down a bet then noticed the pretty, heavily made up blonde staring at him from across the room. He winked. She blushed.

"Speaking of things that need fucked. Why aren't you off letting vampires try to suck you dry or spanking some poor, unsuspecting soul into submission?"

"Things that need fucked? What are you implying, brother mine?" She smirked a bit a she watched him flirt, then offered a bit of a shrug.

"Haven't tried vampires yet... I always imagined the ichor would bother them. I suppose it might be worth a try. Doesn't sound to intriguing. nor does spanking anyone. rather bored with it all. Good thing gambling's a vice, no?"

Her attention drifted back to the wheel, and she watched the dealer spin the little white ball around.

"That you need to be fucked?" He shook his head, he couldn't have been more clear. "Aww, are you still in a mood?"

He hated her moods. They were boring.

"Haven't you heard? I gave up sex for lent. You're starting to sound like Kia... given our age, you think the novelty of not shagging everything with legs might appeal."

Kakia leaned over, pressing a light kiss to his cheek. "That's just modus operandi, anymore. No I've had a sexless wedding, and a sexless bacchanal - Both novel experiences."

Which, granted, wasn't what he asked about. She didn't know why her moods seemed to annoy those around her... "But to answer your question.. Yes. I suppose so."

"You act like we are doddering old fools who talk of nothing but arthritis magazines and bowel movements. We are in our prime, sister dear, fucking is a valid pastime."

He scrunched up his nose at her response. "You know what you need? You need a dose of interesting."

"In our prime?" She laughed. "We're a good two thousand years beyond that, love. We're antiquities who occasionally prove to be entertaining. If I could find something interesting, I'd be all over it."

"Now, now. It's that kind of thinking gets you old. Antiquated is what our parents are, doll, not us."

A waitress slinked by and he caught her to order a beer. Giving her a smack on the ass as she passed by, he turned back to Kakia.

"Didn't you find the current weirdness with the mortals interesting? Did you see the guy on the boards that was exploding flesh eating viruses all over them? He's pretty damn interesting."

"Don't worry. It's not like I'm planning on throwing in the towel and settling down like Momos anytime soon. I'm not yet ready to be the content curmudgeons mum and daddy are."

The wedding still made her frown. It really was a terrible thing to do to a sibling, as far a she was concerned. Plucking an olive out of her martini glass, she sucked on it a moment before shrugging. "It was more bothersome than anything... this place got all weird, and I got to the point I didn't bother leaving my suite. Anything that explodes sounds messy. Sounds more like Oizys' thing."

The waitress brought back his beer and whispered something very naughty in his ear before slipping him her telephone number. Dolos smirked. He was going to have to thank Kia later for hiring such an accommodating staff.

"I doubt Momos is going to be a curmudgeon just because he's married. He's still Momos." He took a swig of his beer then placed another bet. "I actually had some of the followers come ask me for my help. Thought I was one of the "good ones" and would join them. I hung them outside my window by their feet."

As the waitress was leaving, she dropped her empty glass on her tray, a pointed glance telling the girl she wasn't please at having no refill, distractingly handsome companion notwithstanding. "Oh, please. I didn't say he'd be a curmudgeon... while it's adorable on daddy, 'Mos isn't nearly at the point he can pull it off. But he's all settled down now. Has been. I'm happy for him." And she was. She didn't resent him any of it. It simply added to her ennui in its own way.

She didn't even pay attention as she placed her bets, chips going on random numbers. "Mr. Crowley took care of most of the problems here, and I think once the inside men were taken down, they were a bit more wary. Still, a few came through. A few heart attacks were needed - I had promised to keep the carpets nice. Every time I think the lynch mob goes out of style, I'm proven wrong. And as far as universe glitches go, Kia being a child ws a lot more amusing."

"Uh-huh." He didn't believe for a second she was as happy for him as she said she was. Momos and Kakia had always been close, much like he and Apate. If she got married? He'd be devastated. Not that he'd show it. But he'd be hurting...inside.

"Kia should never be under the age of a thousand, if you ask me. Did you hear, the Muse got taken."

"She was cute as a kid. Obsessed with penises, so it's not like much changed over the years." Kakia scowled at the fact that she'd lost again, she dropped down chips at random then turned to her brother, a brow lifted.

"The Muse? Whatever for? What did she do, read them depressing poetry?" She liked Melpomene just fine, but couldn't really think of anyone less threatening than Tragedy.

Dolos didn't care much that he was losing. He was just playing cause Kakia was.

"No idea. Hear they bruised her up. Ares went batshit and fucked them up."

"I guess it comes in handy to have a brother like that..." She smirked, leaning over to kiss his cheek. "If I get kidnapped, I can only hope you'd make it against the law in the future to do such a thing. Well, I hope she's ok. She's cute. A bit odd. Bah... even roulette is boring me."

"Of course, doll. And if they couldn't find you, I'd read a witty if slightly tear jerking statement at the memorial." He grinned at her. "I think she was fine. Simply beat up a little."

Frowning at her exclamation, "You know, you're not even cheating. Maybe that's why?"

"Aww. Would you say very nice things about me?" She batted her lashes once, before frowning in shock at the mere idea he posited. "Dolos! We do not cheat unless we're working, and it's needed. When recreating, we always play fair. Or at the very least mostly fair."

"No... I'm not. I'm wallowing. It's a sad, sad thing. I'm positively bad for business, no doubt." She motioned to the dealer to indicate she wanted to cash out, and turned to her brother while the dealer did his counting thing, and lifted a brow inquiringly."Want to come upstairs for a bit?"

"Nothing exciting... simply a lack of people. If you're looking for a good time I'd stay on the floor." Collecting her voucher from the dealer, she slid off the stool, leaning to kiss Dolos' cheek. "Stay, if you like. I'm really no fun tonight."

Rolling her eyes lightly, she hip-checked him lightly even as she leaned in. "I know when you're lying, love. It's not nice to kick a gal when she's down."

She knew the casino floor like the back of her hand, and wove them through the shortest route to the elevators, a slight mile forming as it opened just as they stepped up. Stepping in, she hit the floor and tilted her head to look at him.

"Now, now. Who says I'm lying? I adore all my sisters differently. All forty-five of them."

When she looked up at him, he cocked his eyebrow, "What's on your mind, darlin'?"
