Who: Kakia, Open to anyone. Where: Monte Carlo, Eden Resort, Casino Floor When: Early Evening Warnings: Will update if needed.
While Kakia generally preferred games that required a bit of skill when gambling herself, there was something to be said for games of chance in a casino. Sure, one could hedge their bets or follow a strategy, but there came a point in most games of chance where one had to simply place their bet and hope that lady luck was smiling down on them. In Monte Carlo, the king of all games was Roulette, and that's where she sat, at the high bet table, watching the dealer work his magic.
She liked roulette in Monte Carlo, it was one of the few places in the world the old tables were still used, with the layout on either side and the wheel in the middle. And she did like the high rollers... When they played poker or blackjack they played to win, but roulette was played for fun. Most had a certain level of class or style about them, particularly at a resort of Eden's caliber, but there were always some who came to wave their money about. All too often they were American, for some reason.
Kakia was there to test her luck like any other, placing her bets with no strategy at all. She was playing on account, winning just slightly more often than she lost. Given that she had extremely strict rules for herself against cheating, she would have been pleased, had she actually been paying attention. Usually a source of invigoration for her, she was just as listless on the gambling floor as she'd been in most of her other ventures of late, vim and vigor having fallen by the wayside.
She placed her order for another martini to the closest waitress and placed her bet on the layout, nose curling lightly as she heard a patron arguing with the dealer. Looking up she listened for a moment, sighing as she heard the flat twang of he accent and took in the outfit - expensive jeans, silk shirt... the lack of style was appalling. And the topic of discussion... on any other night she'd have found the man's insistence that "the double green zero was his lucky bet, and what was wrong with the table and why couldn't he bet it" amusing... tonight it just annoyed. After a moment, she finally lifted her head, offering the man a particularly feral glare.
"Oh for fuck's sake... you're in Europe, not America. There is no double zero here. Just place your bet already, you stupid prat... the rest of us would like to get a move on." He hesitated only a moment before placing his bet, and she offered the dealer a simple nod. There were things she simply was not in the mood for.
