Who: Belle and Jonas
What: Movies!
Where: Jonas' place
Rating: Probably pretty low.

At least this time he wasn't wounded. And really, she was excited about seeing him again. Jonas was a good kid, and she liked him. But more than that was the fact that she didn't want to sleep alone anymore. It made her feel exposed.

But she smiled as she walked. This was going to be a good night, she hoped.

((This is why I love you. <3))

Jonas was busy setting up his TV. He'd gotten it figured out, though it had taken a week of living with it to finally come to understand the various channel changers. He switched it on and to the right channel, then puttered around the kitchen getting stuff for snacks. Alright. Movies were good. This could very much be a fun evening. He knew he'd been spending too much time by himself--Belle would be a welcome distraction.

He went to the door just before she knocked--he'd felt her outside. He pulled it open just far enough to put his eye to the crack. "Who goes there?" he called out, speaking in a croaky eastern European accent he hoped would make him sound like a mad scientist, or perhaps KGB agent.

Belle giggled and used her best Russian accent. "Natasha. I have Moose and Squirrel in my clutches."

He couldn't hold character when she did that, and started laughing a little. "You win, Miss Natasha." He threa the door open for her.

She beamed and walked in. "Nice t' see you again." And she meant it too, even going so far as to give Jonas a hug and a kiss on the cheek.

"You too," he said, kissing her cheek as well. "Ooh, I feel so French all of a sudden."

Belle giggled. "Awww. I guess it's better than feelin' Haitian?"

Being malnourished and oppressed for the loose.

He shrugged. "I guess," he said, laughing a little. "Okay, so I made popcorn and I have M&Ms to eat with them because popcorn is not complete without M&Ms, and I've got stuff to drink, too. I have this so planned out. I am completely organized."

She laughed, shedding her coat. The short sleeves of her shirt didn't hide the yellowing bruises on her arms, or the rope burns around forearms and wrists. But she didn't pay any attention to them.

"Awesome. I've got the money for a pizza and coffee break if we feel the need."

"Awesome," he said, and grinned. Then he caught sight of her arms.

He walked up to her and took hold of her wrists, turning them over to look at the rope burns. He was very gentle, but clearly concerned. "What happened here?" he said, and looked up at her, alarmed.

Belle winced, not from pain, but from the memory. "I was bound for a few days. Didn't have the sense t' stop strugglin'."

She looked away. "But it's over now." The more she told herself that, the closer she came to believing it.

He held her gaze. "You're okay?" There were a million other questions he wanted to ask, but he figured that was the most important.

She shrugged. "I will be."

He hesitated. "Will popcorn and M&Ms speed the healing process?" he asked, just a smidgen sheepish. He wished he had something better to offer, but figured maybe all she wanted was to chill and not think about it. He could understand that. He had firsthand experience with it, after all.

"Probably not." She admitted. "But a night hangin' out with a friend will."

She smiled and squeezed his hand. "C'mon, we've got some serious movie watchin' to do."

He smiled, pausing there for a moment, then saluted her. "Yes ma'am," he said, his voice a bit quieter than it had been when she'd walked in. "But no matter what, I think the popcorn is important. Let me go grab it."

He ran into the kitchen, fetching the snacks and plunking them down on the coffee table before leaping into the couch with a heavy thump.

She laughed and flopped on the couch, her legs spread over his, her back on the arm of the couch. "Ah, comfy."

The grin she gave him was impish, daring him to move her legs.

He looked down at them, blinking. "How did these get here?" he asked, picking one up and letting it land on his lap like it was a foreign object.

He twisted his head one way, then the other, studying her feet.

Then he began tickling her. Mercilessly.

He held her ankle and continued to tickle, wrestling with her flailing limbs. "You're not ticklish?" he asked, incredulous. "Nah, no way you're ticklish."

She laughed and tickled back as much as she could. Any pain or hurt this brought up she squashed vehemently. Jonas wasn't hurting her, and she was going to have a good time, dammit.

He flailed so much he actually fell off the couch and lay there, breathless. "OH GOD. YOU'VE KILLED ME."

Belle slid of the couch, kneeling beside you. "Y' alright, cher?"

Fuck. Had she really hurt him. For a minute she was flailing, terrified that she'd done him some kind of harm.

He rolled back over, smiling. "Yeah, no worries. I think I banged my side when I fell off the couch, but nothing serious." He pushed himself up to a sitting position. "See? I am unscathed!"

She helped him onto the couch with a smile.

He had to admit that he really liked how affectionate she was. He beamed, reaching for the remote, and flicked the TV to the right channel.

"Ooh! Gone With the Wind!" He bounced up and down a little, not caring if he looked ridiculous. "I love this movie."

He finally stopped bouncing as the credits finished rolling. "Good timing," he said, setting the remote down. He handed her the bowl of popcorn ceremoniously as the first silhouettes appeared on screen.

She beamed and munched on the popcorn, letting herself get lost in the movie.
