who. Sophie Cuckoo and Rose Frost
what. A much needed talk. Possible bitchery.
when. Tonight
where. Casa de Frost
A very sensitive nose was to thank for Rose's foul mood. She'd woken early for breakfast in the morning and bumped into one of the Stepfords as she was on her way to the shower. There'd been a smell on the girl, who Rose had found out a bit later was Esme. It was a smell that shouldn't have been on her skin. James' scent. And that meant... well... Rose didn't want to think about what it meant. Rose couldn't really see past Rachel and how badly she'd react to the news of James being with someone else. So she'd sat at the breakfast table, trying to keep herself from growling at the little blond androids that had sat across from her. It'd been fortunate that Rose had left for school before James. She wasn't sure she could have kept her claws in around him.
She'd done a good job of avoiding them since. In fact, Rose had tried her hand at avoiding everyone she lived with. If she bumped into James, she'd certainly tell him how angry she was (and possibly fight with him). Same with the Stepfords. And if she saw Rachel, she'd project guilty thoughts about the information she'd learned. If she spoke with her parents, she'd plead with them to kick the Cuckoos out. And none of that interaction would end well.
So Rose locked herself away in her room, a book for school in one hand and a green highlighter in the other (she'd been gravitating toward green things lately, though she hadn't consciously noticed her doing so). There were earbuds in her ears and her iPod sat beside her on the bed. Rose was on her stomach, feet up in the air. She hummed a tune quietly as she read and tried to drown the world out. Still, the raincloud hung over her head. Stupid Cuckoos. Stupid, stupid James.
There was a knock and though it registered in Rose's mind, she didn't get up. She looked at the door for a moment and then decided that she didn't want to speak with whoever was outside. They'd have to be a little persistent before Rose would let them in.
