Who: Faith and Wes
What: Sparring, talking, god knows
When: Tonight
Where: Somewhere in London
Warnings: At the very least Faith's mouth warrants a pg-13

After Faith had gotten herself to London and to the place where Wes lived, she'd been let in and had some small talk with her once and former Watcher. Neither of them were the talking types, so she stretched out, and then they sparred. It felt good to just spar and not have to worry about some kind of evil coming to kill her for the next half an hour or so. And by the end she was sweating and exhausted and probably really horny, but when wasn't she?

Not that she was going to do anything about it. At least not until she left him. After she made sure he couldn't take anymore, she went to go find them some water. "Do you even have fucking water in this place? Or do you have to go to the store?" she asked as she walked back into the kitchen and opened up the fridge.

"Well, that's certainly a relief," Wesley said with a laugh. "I've heard his poetry and really wouldn't want him to be gay for me." Even if she had seen something between himself and the older man, it was long gone. He wasn't sure he would ever be able to forgive him for refusing to help them save Fred.

"I don't remember my grandfather, honestly," Wesley said with a shrug. "He died when I was still rather young. I really couldn't say what he was like." He looked at Faith. "I think even without this," he made a vague gesture with his hand as if that could encompass the enormity of what 'this' meant, the legacy of Slayers and Watchers, "you would have become more than your background. You're not the kind of person to accept that lot without one hell of a fight. I admire that about you."

"I did a bit," he said. "We all made mistakes...in our own ways, we were all very young then...it's strange to think it was only a little more than five years ago...we've all changed so much." He looked over curiously. "I assume Buffy and Rupert rebuilt the Council somewhat differently?" he asked. Not that he was curious. Of course not. He'd cut ties with the Council, burned that bridge well enough. He ate some and nodded his agreement. "Very good...or we're more hungry than we thought."

"Poetry? Oh christ I would've liked to hear that." And then totally make fun of him because she would have so bad. Never would have let him live that down, not ever. Faith certainly agreed with him about not wanting Spike to go gay for him she didn't even want Spike to be straight for her. She had had enough of B's sloppy seconds after that horrible time with Riley. Totally not doing that again.

"Well who knows, maybe your dad is just fucked up." It didn't always have to be the parents fault, it just usually was. "Fightin's what I do best, so I guess you're right. It's just that all that fightin landed me in jail." Though she did smile when he said he admired her for something. It was nice, she was pretty sure no one else admired her for anything. Except maybe her ass.

Was it really only five years ago? It felt like forever. And one of those years she had spent in a coma, so maybe that's why. Jail made it feel like forever too. "I dunno about you but murder and coma and jail changes a person," she said smartly. At his question she kind of shrugged. "I guess. I mean it was all made up of people I can't stand still. But it's still better than the old one. Except for Andrew. Andrew just needs to fuck off."

She glanced at him, "I am always hungry so you'd better eat up before you reach in and find out there ain't nothin left to eat."

"No, you really wouldn't," Wesley said, shaking his head. "It was...terrible isn't a strong enough description. The word 'effulgent' doesn't belong in poetry, particularly not when paired with 'tis grown a bulge in it'." There really were no words for just how bad Spike's poetry was. "There's also the fact that he acts like a stalker when he's interested in someone."

"I'd say that's a fairly accurate assessment of my father as a person," Wesley agreed, unused to talking so openly about his family life. He smiled as Faith spoke. "I imagine you would be capable of a great number of things," he said. "Certainly more than just fighting."

Five years felt like a lifetime, and for him it had been. They had all been so young then. So naive. They thought that they knew what was coming, but they were so very clueless. They hadn't known anything really. If someone had told him five years ago where he'd be now, he would have laughed. "Lots of things change us," he said softly. "I imagine the list contains very few pleasant things." Betrayal, death, loss, failure. They had all changed him. "I guess we should just be glad there is no council here to answer to."

He laughed. He'd almost forgotten about Slayer metabolisms. He ate his food in silence, then glanced over at her, unsure of what else to say. "It will be dark by the time we're done, so we can head out then, see what this world has to offer by way of threats."

A look of horror and amusement passed over her face and she just shook her head. "Effulgent? I don't even know what the word fucking means. Or how it rhymes with bulge.. god I don't want to know. Never ever tell me." Because she had a feeling that she'd want to rip out her ears and maybe her eyes by the time they were done. "How about we vow never to talk about Spike like... ever again?" Because she could totally live with that.

"Hey not to boast but uh," well if he was going to tell her she was good at more than just fighting. "I'm good at just two things. Fighting, and I'm sure you can guess the other one." If she was the winking kind of girl she would have winked at him. Instead she just kind of gave him that dirty smile she'd given him several times before. Really he kept opening himself up to comments like that.

Sitting back, she took another couple of sips of her drink. "I'm trying to think if there's been anything positive in my life except killin evil and I don't think so. Present company excluded but you know what I mean. Oh trust me, I am seriously fucking glad there's no council. Even if there was, they'd be shut down in a minute." Fuck that nonsense.

Glancing down to the food, she pushed some over towards him so she really didn't eat it all, "Then I guess you should eat up otherwise you're no gonna be able to keep up with me." And she was just about done with her own portion anyway.

"Bright, shining, radiant, etcetera," Wesley said. "It's not so much the meaning that's the problem as it is the fact that it's just a ridiculous word." And that was enough on that topic. "I fully support any plan that involves not mentioning Spike ever again," he agreed.

Wesley rolled his eyes. "You know full well that isn't at all what I meant," he said. "While I'm sure your skills in that area are decent," the word was chosen purposefully to rile her up, "I very much doubt it's your only non-violent skill." Come to think of it, he very much doubted sex with her was non-violent.

He nodded his head, taking a sip of his drink and working on finishing his food. "What we do gives us a sense of purpose," he said. "Without it, we would be empty. It's the one part of our lives that makes us feel whole. It's hard to find anything else that measures up to that." It was what led him to Angel, when he no longer had a Slayer. He'd needed something to connect him to the fight. Someone to guide and help.

"It's hardly as if I'll have to stop to catch my breath," he pointed out as he finished eating. Picking up the empty containers, he took them back to the kitchen and threw them away before cleaning his glass and returning to Faith.

Right, no more Spike. If he was planning on riling her up he had done a good job because she looked particularly affronted. "Excuse me?? What is up with all you boys thinkin I ain't the best lay you've ever had? Decent my ass. I am fucking fantastic in bed thank you very much." Her shoulders rolled a bit, "Nah it's really my only non-violent skill. Not that it ain't violent half the time." she wasn't ever disclosing whether or not she had done the deed all nice and slow. Oh maybe with Riley. Ugh, yeah let's not think about that.

"I sure as hell don't want shit to be empty. I have no fucking clue what I would do if I wasn't doing this." She didn't have any other purpose or skills or anything else that wasn't tied to this, it was all she knew. And sure there wasn't anything else she wanted to do, but that's cause she didn't know what else there was.

Since they were done, she got up and handed him her plates and junk before going to the cabinet so that she could get weapons out and stalk up. Stakes in her back pockets and then she got out a crossbow. Oh man how she missed the crossbow. "I'm ready when you are."

"To be fair," Wesley said mildly, "you couldn't be the best lay I've ever had. That wouldn't imply I've had you. And really, I'm very pleased for you. It's good that you have such confidence in your skills." He knew he should quit teasing her, but it was fun. "Feel free to spare me the details. I'd really rather not know what you've gotten up to and with whom."

"Neither do I," Wesley said. "I grew up knowing I'd be a Watcher...that I'd be fighting evil. I lost half of that...or I had." He felt like maybe, with Faith here, he could reclaim that piece of himself. "I think if I couldn't continue fighting evil, I wouldn't know what to do with myself. It's rather sad, isn't it? We both define ourself with roles created by foolish men from centuries ago who meddled with forces they should have left alone."

When he was done cleaning up, Wesley grabbed his jacket. He was glad it hadn't been damaged with his untimely demise...he was rather attached to it. He added stakes and holy water, a crossbow and his gun. He felt better with the weapons. Less vulnerable.

Her eyes narrowed but she wasn't actually annoyed. She knew he was teasing her and it was fun defending her wild sexual skills. "Hey I told you anytime you want to find out, I'd be willing to give you a ride. You know, just so you can see for yourself." She smirked and put her hands on her hips, turning around to face him. "Don't worry, I ain't the kind to fuck and tell." That was for sure.

"It is sad, yeah. Fucking old insane mystics who thought they'd just decide to take it upon themselves." It wasn't like she didn't know about how in the beginning it had to deal with demons. "But I guess for the most part they knew what they were doin otherwise we wouldn't be so damn good at it." Or something like that, it was hard to tell the difference between fate and things they chose.

Not needing the jacket since it always got dirty, she headed with him outside their flat and onto the street. It was quiet but they lived in a place with people. "So.. cemetery?"

"I'll be sure to keep that in mind," Wesley said, shaking his head with amusement. Not that he thought the offer was something to laugh at, but the whole situation had a certain humour to it. "And really, who would you tell? Yes, I'm sure Rupert and Willow would be properly scandalised, but it isn't as if they're our parents."

"We may as well make the best of the lot they left us," he agreed. "We are damn good at it, after all." Their roles were fate, to fight and to protect...and in their case, occasionally play the anti-hero when the situation called for it But what they did with those duties, how much of themselves they gave, was their choice.

"Cemetary," he agreed with a nod. It would be the easiest place to start for tonight. Later, they could check some of the parks. He had no doubt there would be some vampires there.

Most of the time Faith would find offense at the fact that he was being so amused at the thought of having sex with her. But since it was Wes and he was trying to get a rise out of her she just rolled her eyes, "Not telling anybody. Man fuck them. Though seeing the look on their faces would be fucking priceless." Maybe she would just say something even if it wasn't true just to see it.

With a nod of her head they were out and about and she let out a deep sigh. "We are damn good," she kept her eyes and her ears open for whatever might be lurking about. It probably wouldn't take too long right? Vamps had to be all over.

No, Wesley most certainly wasn't amused at the thought of sex with her. If he was truly honest, it was something he'd thought about, even after she'd tortured him. But discussing it over curry, while preparing to patrol. It was rather surreal in some ways, but simultaneously so normal for his life. He shook his head. Their normal would send most people running for the hills. He smirked. "It would almost be worth telling them, just to see their reaction." Faith was a bad influence on him.

They walked in companionable silence until they reached the cemetery. Already, he felt a certain peace that came with the hunt. He hadn't realised that he'd missed this. Too much of their work at Wolfram and Hart was business. Not this thrilling, physical aspect that reminded him that as dead as he was, he was still alive.

Faith thought that most men probably thought about it at least once when she was around unless they were gay because she was in their face all the time and very much just out there. She knew what she liked and what she wanted and then she got it. Want, take have wasn't just a motto for stealing things of course. She just got to tone it down lately, well if you could call this toning it down. "I'll threaten to have an orgy to see Giles' head explode."

And if she ever had to do some job with paperwork, or if Slaying came with paperwork, there would be some very dead pencil pushers that's all she was saying. For the most part the cemetery was quiet but Faith could sense them, and her spidey sense was definitely tingling. It seemed to be coming from a crypt on the right hand side. "So are you all with the plans or do we just wanna go in there and kick ass.." meaning his way or her way. She pointed to the crypt, keeping her voice down even though they were pretty far away still but getting closer.

Gay men probably thought about it too. After all, there was just something about Faith. Not that Wesley would ever admit that. No, he'd loved Fred...been obsessed with her really. It was difficult to admit any sort of feelings for other people. "If you do that," he told her with an amused smile, "I just may love you forever." But probably not. Still, it would be brilliant, seeing Giles react to that. "I imagine he'll begin frantically cleaning his glasses, like he does when he wants to pretend something isn't happening."

To be honest, Faith could probably get Wesley to do her paperwork, if there ever was any. He found it rather calming. "I don't know who you've been working with," he said, raising an eyebrow, "but I was under the impression that going in and kicking ass was a plan." He'd clearly been spending too much time with Illyria. And Spike. And Charles. And Angel. He was the only one among them who was big on the plan-making. "But let's try to keep as silent as possible for now. We're just warming up, after all."

To be fair, lesbians were on that list too, or at least she thought so. Willow may have hated her but there was probably a part of her that wanted to find out what she was like in bed. She just grinned at him because eventually she was probably going to do something like that because she could and she liked seeing the look on people's faces. "He's going to clean them so much they're going to crack, guaranteed." It was endearing when he wasn't being a jerk.

The fact that he didn't have a plan and didn't want one made her whole face light up. "That's what I like to hear." Silent as possible right, who was he talking to? Like she couldn't be as quiet as a mouse or something. Carefully she set up her crossbow to fire and stalked closer to the crypt being actually really quiet. She didn't have to go in all guns blazing. Not unless she was feeling particular puckish and she wasn't this evening. Not yet.

"I wouldn't be at all surprise if he accidentally broke them in half," Wesley said off-handedly, as if they hadn't gotten on the somewhat surreal topic of driving Rupert mental with talk of sexual escapades, real or imagined. How had they gotten onto that topic anyway? Just another mystery of working with Faith, he supposed.

His crossbow stayed at his waist, waiting until he needed it. For now, he relied on a band of metal at his wrist. He'd used it before, during the debacle where they had reverted to their seventeen year old selves, but he did think it had the potential to be useful. As they reached the crypt, he looked in while keeping as silent as possible and spotted a group of vampires. They wouldn't know what hit them. He nodded to Faith, shooting a stake through one of the small windows with the device at his wrist and watching as it struck one of the vampires in the heart, the others looking around in confusion as he turned to dust.

That image sent her into another laugh where she had to calm herself down so that she could focus kicking ass. Right. Who knows how they had gotten on the topic, it was just her weird and sick twisted thinking that lead everything to sex. Ah well, back to the task at hand. The vampires scrambled around a bit determined to figure out what was going down. Faith shot her stake into the one that came out of the door first and then pulled the stake out of her back pocket.

They charged spotting the two of them, and Faith just grinned. God this was fun. She hit the next vamp that came at her with the butt of her cross bow until he stumbled back against one of the tombs and she advanced so that she could thoroughly kick his ass and dust him as quickly as possible. But she had one eye on Wes just in case he needed help but she seriously doubt he would.

It felt good to be able to laugh in the midst of the hunt. It had been that way a long time ago, back when they were Angel Investigations instead of Wolfram and Hart. Back before Wesley had betrayed one of his best friends. There hadn't been much laughing after that. Not with them. Lilah had laughed but she was dead. Faith was like Lilah in all the bad ways and some of the good. They all fought on the same side in this never-ending battle, Faith, Lilah and himself. In the middle. Not the center, because that implied a certain level of importance reserved for the 'heroes', but in the middle. Where it wasn't so cleanly black and white.

Wesley released the blade from his wrist and wrapped his hand around the base as one of the vampires came near him, cleanly decapitating it before moving on to another. He could already feel the rush of adrenaline, singing in his blood, as he gave himself over to the thrill of a good fight. He felt more alive than he had in so long.

Well damn, if she had known he wanted a threesome, she would have worked some of her mojo. Not that she knew Lilah at all besides the time that they had hired her to kill Angel but she was usually good with just about anything. But she was glad that he could laugh, if she couldn't laugh about things then god she'd be even more fucked up if that was possible. Besides it was some funny shit, who wouldn't laugh at that even if you were in the middle of killing vampires.

With Faith, killing always gave her more than a rush. Well it was a rush all right, just all the way down to her nether regions. Any Slayer who said it didn't happen to them was full of shit as far as she was concerned. As she dusted one, she went after the other, and sometimes the thrill of being hit was just as good as delivering the hit. It was still a thrill just being out and not stuck in a jail cell. The number of vampires was dwindling down slowly, and by now they knew that whoever these two were, they weren't amateurs.

No, definitely not a threesome. Wesley didn't have a death wish, even if he was already technically dead, and Faith and Lilah together would be too much for any man to handle. Still...it would be a hell of a way to go. As for laughing, it was something of a coping mechanism. He was fairly certain if he couldn't find humour in all the hell that they had to go through, he'd go completely mental. He imagined that he would be some dark, driven person...which wasn't far from the truth really...who was entirely focused on purpose without any drive to really live. He didn't want to take that road.

Wesley would never admit to that sort of rush, but the adrenaline and Faith's proximity (she was always amazing to watch in a fight) certainly weren't discouraging those sorts of thoughts. Still, he focused on fighting for the moment. One of the vampires got a hit in, but he wasn't bothered. If anything, it was another reminder that he could still feel. He was barely phased, pulling out a stake and stabbing it in the chest. He and Faith systematically and mercilessly wiped out the rest of the vampires in the crypt, watching each other's backs the whole time. It was easy to see they made a good team. He shot her a grin, leaning against the wall of the crypt. He'd have been breathing heavily if breathing were a necessity, and as it was, he was just dishevelled.

Making sure that he was all right, only a glance told her that she didn't need to worry about him he was doing just fine on his own. Though she couldn't tell if he was watching out for her or just watching her. Not that it mattered really, she was a bit too focused on anything but the next slay and how it was making her feel tingly all over. Oh and making sure that Wes was okay and wasn't getting chewed on or anything. When he grinned at her she grinned brightly back at him. Man this was fun, and he looked really good when he was fighting. Who ever thought she'd say something like that.

By the time they were done, she was out of breath but in a good way. Breathing heavily, she finally leaned against the wall next to him, trying to catch her breath. Her whole body seemed to be humming, "God that was good.. sometimes I swear slaying is better than fucking." If there was a way to slay and have sex at the same time? She'd die a damn happy woman. Faith slid out of her jacket though unable to help herself, she was warm and excited and thus wearing way too many clothes. Not that she was getting naked in front of him. "Ready to go home or do you want to find another one?"

Wesley had come to rely on himself a lot in those weeks when he had been working on his own, during his falling out with Angel and the others. Yes, he'd had a team, but they weren't the type he could rely on to watch his back. The fact was, he hadn't known them well enough to trust them that way. With Faith though, he could trust her not to let him die. Again. Not that he actually expected fledgling vampires to kill either of them, but they would still watch each other's backs. No point in needless risks. It could always be the day when one of them screwed up.

"Yes," he swallowed, "it's...quite." He finally understood what she meant about slaying, making her want to have sex. He'd certainly felt that from time to time with Fred, taking down monsters then snogging until one of the others on their team got uncomfortable. It had never been a problem with Angel or Gunn or Spike, and certainly not with Illyria, but it seemed to be the case again with Faith. His blood was humming with it, and it was almost overwhelming. He watched her as she pulled off her jacket, fighting against inappropriate thoughts. Oh, to hell with it! It had been quite some time, and she was a beautiful woman, and the worst she could do was kill him. He walked up to her without preamble and kissed her before he could stop himself. It was hardly sweet or romantic, but he didn't imagine she would have appreciated that.

It did kind of say something that Faith was the one he trusted with keeping him alive and keeping him safe and not the people he had worked with for the past couple of years. Guess it said a lot about both of them. The truth was the same about her though, she sure as hell didn't trust B, or Willow or anyone in that group to watch her back and make sure she didn't die. They all basically just put up with her, no one actually liked her. Angel was the closest thing she'd have to having someone not want her dead, and now there was Wes.

At least Wes didn't have glasses to clean or she would have thought he might have picked them up to start wiping. She could tell he was watching her out of the corner of her eye, which would have made her smirk if she had wanted to actually freak him out a little. Though she was riled up, and thought he might be a bit riled up, the fact that he was actually kissing her was kind of surprising. They joked about it sure, but doing it? That was another thing all together. Being pressed up against the wall, she felt his mouth assault hers. It only took her a microsecond for her to respond. She was hardly one to question things, especially when he was kissing her so she eagerly pressed her mouth to his and kissed him roughly, fingers sliding into the back of his hair.

He and Angel had too much baggage between them, now that he remembered Connor, and he couldn't bring himself to trust Gunn after learning about the other man's part in Fred's death. And Spike was never someone you counted on to watch your back. He wasn't even going to think of the Sunnydale crew. No, they had allowed Fred to die. The only one he knew would do her best to keep him alive, for her own selfish reasons, was Illyria. And now Faith.

For a split second, Wesley considered pulling away and apologising. Faith was still his Slayer, in spite of everything that had transpired, and the last thing he needed to be doing right now was snogging her. But she was kissing him back and it had been too long since someone had kissed him like that. He held her against the wall of the crypt, one hand on her hip and the other tangled in her hair as he continued kissing her roughly, oxygen not really a concern for him. He finally pulled away, figuring that she probably needed air, even if he didn't. His mouth moved to her neck, kissing and nipping at the skin, not really wanting to break contact.

Faith didn't need as much oxygen as one might think actually. It was really the last thing on her mind when he was kissing her, and she was obviously getting all of her pent up frustrations out on his mouth. Not that she was overly violent but it was obvious that it had all worked her up pretty bad. When he pulled his head back to kiss against her neck she finally realized she needed air, gasping for it for a second before she let her hands slide down his back.

They didn't stop there, they went up under his shirt. She figured somewhere in the back of her mind that he was going to pull back and apologize and all of that sooner than later. So she was going to get in as much of this as she possibly could while she had the chance. She was grinding against him, unable to help herself when she was in this state, fingers stroking the skin of his back as she gave a half growl as he bit down on her neck.
