Who: Iggy and whoever (Open post here people, dogpile!)
Where: Central Park
When: Thursday afternoon
Why: Because Iggy's decided to take a chance.

Thanks to Henn and her highly scientific survey results, Iggy had decided to take a chance on the place and see what happened. He was still as nervous as anything, but he was good at putting on a brave front, that was one of the first things the Flock had learned, not to show how shaken they were.

This was a chance that he knew Max would probably kill him for, and then figure out how to bring him back from the dead just so she could kill him again. He was still mostly worried about Erasers more than any of the actual people, but the whole time he'd been here he hadn't gotten a smell, even the faintest whiff, anywhere. This made him bold.

In any case, anyone walking through Central Park, somewhere south of the middle, near the turtle pond, would probably see a dishwater blonde teenage boy, skipping stones out across the pond with an eerie accuracy for the fact that he was focused somewhere far beyond the water's edge. Aside from that, he had wings folded down against his shoulders in lieu of a coat, gold-brown feathers marking him as a raptor of some kind, though he certainly didn't look it otherwise.

Iggy actually laughed at that, at least until he had to save his breath for actually flying, settling into a glide off the edge of the park and over the busier, louder part of the city, he reeled, just for a moment, before circling higher again, brow furrowing, nodding once, mostly to himself, before veering off headed northeast, "The place is called Floyd and Jane's, if you see it, let me know."

He wasn't exactly sure how Iggy was finding his way around, but he'd seen weirder things, so he went with it. And, unsurprisingly, he soon saw a shoddy-looking deli front almost directly ahead of them. 'Shoddy' of course being an affectionate term, since everyone knew the worse the place looked, the better the food was bound to be.

<It's right ahead.> He tried to keep the surprise out of his voice, as he circled himself lower, scouting out an alleyway for them to land in. <The alley next to it's clear, too,>

"Where about? It's hard to gauge distance with this kind of noise." And it would be harder still once he was on the ground, but he figured he could cross that bridge when he came to it, not worry about it just yet, "Don't want to smack into anybody's laundry or anything."

<Fifty feet ahead, ten o'clock> Tobias swooped down in front of him close enough to be felt, heading in that direction. He continued to flap tight circles in the alley, waiting for Iggy to follow. Once he did, Tobias would land on a fire escape, and morph out.

"Thanks." He said before tucking one wing, then the other, dropping fast, catching enough air on the way down that he landed lightly, wings folding back, shaking his legs out one at a time, "You'll kind of have to guide me in, this much noise is like... static. It's all blank."

Tobias slid down off the fire escape, landing on his feet a few feet away. "I can do that. You want to follow my voice, or-?" He wouldn't presume to lead him by hand, unless asked. He figured Iggy had some way of working it out.

He nodded, "I can probably do that, I usually follow Navi by the jingling." That and the fact that she was often clinging to his arm just to make sure he didn't get lost, "Left or right out of the alley?"

"Right." Tobias moved to take a coule steps ahead of him, leading the way out of the alley. "I take it you live in the city? This doesn't look like the sort of place you'd stumble upon, in a tour,"

He nodded, "I do now, I found out about this place when I was visiting before though." He was visibly more tense than he had been in the park, moving carefully, almost feeling out each step, one hand held out about hip height, fingertips brushing against the wall beside him now and again, enough to look casual, but also enough to make sure he wasn't going to walk into it.

Tobias made a noise of recognition, turning back to watch Iggy with what he realized was a far too protective glance. "Yeah, I know the feeling. I lived in Hollywood for the first year or so I was here. It's much easier to live here, than visit, I've realized. Way too easy to get lost, if you don't walk the streets every day," The deli wasn't far, and soon he was pointing- uselessly, he realized- to a door on his right. "Here we are."

He smiled then, fingers bumping against the door handle once before catching it properly and pulling it open, "I know how that goes." A shrug, folding his wings down a little more tightly so that he could actually fit through the door, they folded into hollows to either side of his spine, designed to be near-invisible under clothes, really, "We walked a lot when we were here before, and I'm having to learn where everything is in relation to the apartment now."

"Next time I need a guide, I'll know who to look up," He followed Iggy inside, smiling at the smells and sounds of the little place. "Next time I need a restaurant suggestion too, apparently. Good choice," He moved over to the line as he spoke, probably seeming like a bit of a tourist, but not really caring.

There was another one of those almost startled laughs at the statement, shaking his head, "I'll be better at that second one, Navi eats almost more than I do, so she's showed me where the good stuff is. I haven't had a chance to bring her out this far yet, I really should."

He shrugged then, a ready tension down his spine just in case he had to make a break for it, this was still the first time he'd actually had his wings out in public. It was easier for him to 'see' inside, since the noise level was about what it was at the park.

With a little smile, Tobias turned to see the tension, humming lightly. "Hey, you can relax, you know. Trust me, no one in here's going to..." He let that trail off, actually laughing a little when he saw the make-up of the people around them, and hwo they could easily be outran, let alone by wing.

He nodded, sweeping a hand through his hair quickly, "Still new at this." Was all he said before smiling in the general direction of the counter, head cocked to listen for a moment, making sure there wasn't anyone ahead of him before he said: "Egg salad please, on rye, toasted, and the biggest coffee you're legally allowed to sell."

Tobias made an understanding noise, stepping up and placing his order before shuffling along in line behind Iggy. "For what it's worth, I'm pretty sure I could take all but Monster back there with the knife as a housecat." He took his tea with a grin, popping it open to take a drink.

"Monster?" Was the automatic response, not exactly on-guard, since he hadn't smelled Eraser, and he hadn't heard that careful, melodically-toned voice they had, but ready all the same, coffee returned to the counter where he'd picked it up from, fingers still hovering near it, knowing it could be used as a weapon.

"Name, not description," He muttered placatingly, resisting the urge to set his hand on Iggy's wrist. "Big guy. Sumo big." The next was quieter, just between the two of them, "But just a guy. It's okay," He took his food once it was offered out, paying for the two of them and heading to a table.

He didn't relax, not really, but he didn't look ready to bolt, which was probably a good sign. He just nodded, picking up his coffee and taking his tray once it was offered, "okay."

It was easy enough to follow Tobias to a table, setting his tray down and feeling out the back of a chair before settling, "Thanks for lunch."

Tobias shrugged. "It beats pigeon, and I don't usually put forward the effort without a reason. Thank you." He settled in to eat, taking a few bites and relaxing back into his seat.

"Definitely better than gopher or fire-roasted baloney on a stick." He shrugged, "Not that that's what I'd be having at Navi's, but it's kind of what I'm used to. Well, stuff burned on sticks, not the gopher." He shook his head then, digging into his own sandwich. He was a surprisingly tidy eater, for a guy who couldn't see what he was doing.

In contrast, Tobias was a pretty messy eater- but considered it fair, with only having hands for less than half his life. "Hey, gopher's not bad. And this... is not good table conversation is it?" He chuckled, taking a drink. "See, I need to get out more."

He laughed, shaking his head, "Don't look at me, I'm not even used to having a table, let alone conversation to go with it."

A shrug, "Usually the Flock's lucky if we remember to get out the forks."

"You'd get along well with the people I'd been living with before this place. Granted, they were aliens, and much closer to... my usual eating habits. But they were good folks. Honest, sort of lifelong children, without the war." His tone was fond, unsure of exactly why he was bringing the Hork Bajir into things, but it was harmless, now. There hadn't been one on this Earth yet, that he knew.

There was another amused sound, shaking his head, "I might." A shrug, "Really Navi's the same way, about the forks. Usually we just eat everything right out of the boxes it comes in."
