Who: Domino and Nathan (with appearances by Belle and Jean)
What: Chatting, meeting, bonding
Where: Chez Summers
When: Saturday
Warnings: sex

It was nice, Belle concluded as she sipped her beer, to spend time with people who weren't involved in the running of Genosha, or the hotel, or her family.

She loved having her father back. And her mother-in-law was a nice lady. But between the boys showing off for their mother, and Julien and Marius being manly together, she'd felt the need to get out for a bit. The kids were safe with their grandparents, and she was glad to spend time with the Summerses.

Nathan sighed, grumpy.

"I'm going to make coffee. Either of you want any?"

He stood, and stretched, and turned toward the kitchen.

Belle inclined her head. "If I mess up, I give you my word you can take it out on me. Makes it nice and fair, non?"

She was confident. The incision for a cesarean wasn't that difficult, and extracting the children would be fairly simple. And if she hurt Domino or the children, she would be more than willing to pay the price.

"No, thanks. Shouldn't mix caffeine 'n' alcohol. But I'll take a juice if you got them."

Jean nodded. "Yes, please. I've got a night of sewing to do."

She eyed Belle a bit, but then turned to her son. "How is Domino doing, by the way?"

He nodded, making coffee, then turned as it began to make.

"She is doing good. She is freaking out sometimes. But she seems to be holding up."

Love and warmth flowed along his link to Domino.

"How have things been for you?"

There was still some grumpiness and wariness in his eyes as he spoke.

Belle sat back and drank her beer, wondering where the conversation would end. She sought out Domino's mind, and was greeted by a somewhat sleepy hello. Ah, it was naptime.

She giggled a little, and retreated.

"The same as always. I had a good date with Scott, and I'm going to see Bruce on New Year's eve. Other than that, I've been preparing for the spring show I'm in, getting patterns down to the manufacturers so the clothes will be ready to hit the stores soon."

She turned toward Nathan, shrugging a little. He was usually grumpy, so this wasn't a big deal. At least in her experience he was usually grumpy.

He handed Belle's juice over and Jean's coffee as well.

He turned to Belle.

"Planning a bash for New Year's?"

"Merci. And no. Good Lord above. I love throwing parties, but two in almost the same week is beyond even my limitless energy. I'm going to tuck the babies into bed and sit around with my insanely large family and snuggle with my husband when the New Year comes."

Christmas was for public celebrations. New Year's eve was for private hopes and dreams.

Jean listened, curious. "How is your family insanely large?"

It couldn't be as bad as the Summers family, she knew that much.

Cable started to laugh.

"They rival us."

"No clones yet, though." Belle laughed a little. "You had me 'n' my husband to start, then I had two twins. Their older selves showed up because the boy's a time traveler, and then they went away again, then came back again."

She finished her beer and floated the bottle toward the trash. "Then Alex's brother came here, and so did mine. Now we've got one parent a piece, and his mom and my dad are flirting like high schoolers."

Jean listened, and laughed a little. "You know, I'm quite happy that I only ever had two parents and one sibling."

Which was a lie. She wouldn't have latched on to Nathan so fiercely if the idea of having children wasn't heavy on her mind.
