Who: Jack and... Jack the Sexy and... Oh, hell. The Sexy Jacks.
What: Hospital visitations, nostalgia, etc
When: Today. Was supposed to have been yesterday, but I fail.
Warnings: I'll keep you posted.

It had taken Jack a bit of detective work, but he managed to find the hospital Jack was laid up in, heading there the very-old-fashioned way; walking. How quaint. Strolling into the building, he had the fleeting thought- for all the Doctors he spent time with, he hadn't had need for a hospital in decades.

Stopping in the doorway to Jack's room, he realized briefly that it was times like this he wished he could transfer his 'gift' to his friends. Still, Jack looked better than he'd thought; enough to get a smile out of Jack, and a wolf-whistle.

"I'm loving the get-up. Antiseptic chic, I feel it." Shoving off the wall, he walked forward to Jack's bedside, giving him a peck on the cheek before settling in the chair next to him. "Lookin' great, baby."

A hand ran through his hair, as Jack tried to decide how to answer that. "The short answer is yes, everyone's... 'like this'. It's classic cultural shift; the same way the two of us sitting in a bed together would have been scrutinized a few decades ago. Consider that pace, and then multiply by the three millenia I have on you." He shrugged. "It's not a focus, as much as it is an enjoyable passtime. It's not like we have nightly nationwide orgies or anything," A beat, "Those are usually saved for the special occasions," Maybe he was joking, maybe he wasn't. There was no way for Jack to know.

Snorting softly, Jack smiled, "I didn't mean offense, dear. I like it, actually," He rubbed his cheek against the man's shoulder a bit, "I'd rather you be as you are than anything else. I like you as you are."

"No offense taken. It's just one of those hard-to-explain things, like when people ask how time-travel works. Which is to say, I don't particularly care about the physics- it just does." He leaned back into the other man, as he turned to press his face in the man's hair, enjoying the closeness.

"Perfectly understandable," Jack murmured, very content as he was, eyes closed as he rested against Jack, "Do you ever think you'd want to be from here and now?"

Jack thought about that for a minute, before shrugging his shoulder gently. "I'm not sure I would be very different than I am now. I mean, I've lived 'here and now' for, what... sixty years? There are some things that just don't change."

"You look wonderful for however old you must be," Jack commented thoughtfully, "Well, I'm glad you are here in the here and now, darling. I half expected you to not come."

"I'm somewhere in the 140s... I think. It all sort of bleeds together, but then again, most people don't bother to ask my age. It just gets suspicious when the years go by and I simply... don't look different. It's part of the curse." He smiled a little sad smile at Jack's mention of him not coming, "If there's one thing I never do, it's leave a friend hanging."

"Like that book,'Tuck Everlasting'," Jack remembered having to learn about that when he was doing his education degree. He showed them, however, and went on to get a masters in education and never teach high school. So there.

"You're the very picture of the romantic hero, you know," Jack said after a moment, "And I don't mean in those awful romance novels that I never read, I swear. I mean, classical Romance heros. Like...Oh, Sir Gawain or something," Yes, Jack was feeling a bit off due to his medication, and pretty much anyone who spent anytime with him knew he would get like this.

Jack brushed a kiss against the other man's temple, and listened to him go on, bemused. "That's awful kind of you to say- I'll have to go look up just what you mean,"

Jack laughed, "Oh, I've become quite used to people not knowing what I'm talking about half the time," He smiled, "Sir Gawain, my darling Captan, was one of Arthur's Knights. He was the one, actually, that pointed out to Arthur at one point that maybe leaving Lancelot to look after Guinevere was not in his best interests..."
