Warnings: No doubt, swearing at the least.
Cable was sitting in the corner of the kitchen, watching Alex cook, Lorna fidget, and Domino laugh and bounce. He was amused.
Oh, part of him was freaking out as he picked up the phone. Part of him was freaking out mightily. His dad... but not, was here, Now, and 19!!!
Somewhere, Fate and God were having a beer and laughing at him.
He sighed as he dialed.
"Hello, Jean? Why don't you come over for dinner?"
"This is about Scott, isn't it?"
Cable paused.
"Not really, not so much about him as about me and you meeting him again, together, instead of separately while all my insane other family looks on?"
"Sounds more like an exhibitionist thing, than a family thing, and I am sorry, no. I am half way into this bottle of wine, and it will probably be joined by another, later."
"Awww, Mommmmmmm..."
"Uhhhh, I don't want to be your mom, tonight. Is that an option?"
"Nope."
"Damn. Well, I am going to be a very very bad Mommy tonight, and lead a bad example and get smashingly drunk. You have fun."
"Jean... it wont hurt, really."
"You're wrong. It already does."
He sighed.
"I'm sorry."
"Have fun. I'll talk to you tomorrow."
"O---kay. See you then."
"Love you."
"Love you too."
He hung up and grumbled, and eyed the group in the kitchen.
He wondered how Belladonna and Scott were getting on...
