Cable was sitting in the corner of the kitchen, watching Alex cook, Lorna fidget, and Domino laugh and bounce. He was amused.

Oh, part of him was freaking out as he picked up the phone. Part of him was freaking out mightily. His dad... but not, was here, Now, and 19!!!

Somewhere, Fate and God were having a beer and laughing at him.

He sighed as he dialed.

"Hello, Jean? Why don't you come over for dinner?"

"This is about Scott, isn't it?"

Cable paused.

"Not really, not so much about him as about me and you meeting him again, together, instead of separately while all my insane other family looks on?"

"Sounds more like an exhibitionist thing, than a family thing, and I am sorry, no. I am half way into this bottle of wine, and it will probably be joined by another, later."

"Awww, Mommmmmmm..."

"Uhhhh, I don't want to be your mom, tonight. Is that an option?"

"Nope."

"Damn. Well, I am going to be a very very bad Mommy tonight, and lead a bad example and get smashingly drunk. You have fun."

"Jean... it wont hurt, really."

"You're wrong. It already does."

He sighed.

"I'm sorry."

"Have fun. I'll talk to you tomorrow."

"O---kay. See you then."

"Love you."

"Love you too."

He hung up and grumbled, and eyed the group in the kitchen.

He wondered how Belladonna and Scott were getting on...

	Belle had kept up with the conversation via her phone, and so knew to take Scott to the Summers house. They were flying through Genosha at a leisurely pace. There was, apparently, no rush. "How are you doing, cher?" Her tone was soft and friendly. "You kind of got a lot of people talking about you." (Reply to this) (Thread)

Scott was, for the moment, taking her in and this whole flying thing in, well, quietly. Her question jarred him out of it.

"Hm? Oh, okay, I guess. It's all kind of a shock, really. Seems like everyone knows me, and I don't know anyone, unless it is versions of people who are other than the ones I know..."

He rubbed his head.

"Being flown around by a beautiful woman is not exactly the most normal in my life either. Not recently, anyway."

	"That's a pity. Everyone should be flown around by beautiful women as often as humanly possible." She laughed a little. "I'm sorry, cher. You're a fairly high profile person in most worlds, it seems. Hell, just dealing with alternate versions of my ex-husband makes me cranky. I'm sorry you were dogpiled." 	He chuckled. "Well, the last one and I had a fight, and ended up on opposite sides of the country. That went badly." He shook his head. "I am a little amazed at that. I mean, sure I am leader of the X-Men back home, but someday someone else would come along, better, you know? I have a hard enough time dealing with women and now fame, too? Wow." "I'm sorry to hear that. It's always rough, breaking up."

She would know how rough it could be.

"Women are only as difficult as they choose to be. Someday you'll find one who's willing to be simple and open, I'm sure. And as for being a good leader, there's a lot of people that think the first indicator of a good leader is not wanting to be a leader at all. I don't know how that works, but it does seem to be true."

She touched down on the roof of the Summers house, setting Scott down gently. "Want me to come down with you, or do you think you'll be alright?"

"Thanks. Maybe coffee? I think getting used to this place will take a lot of getting used to."

He grinned at here, then headed for the roof entrance, where Cable was waiting. Scott slowed, then stuck out a hand.

"Hi..."

"Hi, Scott, come on in."

Cable shook his hand and led him inside and down to the kitchen and the others, after waving to Belle.

	Nah. I'm sure you've saved my ass in an alternate future or some shit. Flying your teenage father around is nothing. Lorna had followed Cable, curious about Scott. She was waiting in the hall at the bottom of the stairs when the two men emerged. "Hi!" (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Scott blinked, then grinned.

"Lorna, right? Hi. Ah, thanks for the invite."

He still felt a little uncertain about all of this.

Cable grinned and ushered them all on.

Alex was waiting in the kitchen, nervous, and waved.

"Hey, Scott. I'm Alex."

Alex. Wow.

Scott stared, and blinked, then nodded.

"Uhm, hi. You're... definitely not the Alex I knew, but... it's nice to meet you."

Lorna smiled and watched her husband. "You're welcome. I've wanted to meet you for a long time, even before I met Alex."

Domino slid off the counter and wandered over, extending her hand to Scott. "Nice to meet you. Again, in my case. You going to be alright there?"

She felt less pressure with Scott. Maybe because he was so young, or because he was male and she knew how to handle men better.

Now I know where you get your looks, Nate.

Scott smiled at Lorna, blushing.

"Thanks. I, ah, hope I don't measure down from your expectations."

He chuckled and nodded to the new woman.

"Wow."

Scott blinked and blushed as he heard that.

Scott smiled again.

"I am sure I will be fine with a group of hosts as nice as all of your."

Cable grinned as he clapped his hands.

"Okay, everyone to the table."

Alex smiled and set food out, then took a seat next to Lorna and next to Scott, and Cable settled next to him, holding a chair for Domino.

"Nope. You're a lot nicer than I thought you would be, so far."

She smiled brightly, and stroked Alex's back softly. She looked at him, gauging his reaction to all this.

Domino had a brief mental conversation with Nate, mostly asking if she could sit in his lap, and then laughing when he agreed.

She was in a very bright mood. "Alex did most of the cooking. I helped by not helping, and Lorna kept up a constant stream of chatter that probably inspired Alex to greater culinary heights, or something."
