Even though she knew that she'd be working with her brother, she felt quite nervous as she took the elevator up to the floor he'd told her to get out on. It was truly amazing how at ease she was with elevators and high buildings after such a short time.

She got out and went to the receptionist's desk. "Hello, I am Ganieda Davies, I'm starting an internship today?"

She hoped she did not look too nervous. But she probably did.

"Simple tasks," she said. "Most of life is simple tasks. Mastery is not necessary, but I am sure I will learn adequately." She smiled.

"I am sure that most life skills have truly not changed substantially in 2000 years...it just takes a slightly different route. Instead of killing the animal for food, one finds a job and sells their time for money and pays someone else for the killing. Either way, an animal dies."

	Ganieda blushed. "I have...much time to think, during religion class." She does not ask many questions, but she can answer any question the teacher puts to her, so she is passing the class well. "If I had not come here...I think I would have grown to be quite miserable, and if you had not found me so soon after coming here, I think I might not have lived for very long." She smiled at him again. "I was very weak before I came here. And...and, I think that it was meant for me. To be here and to find you. For what purpose, I do not know, but I know that I am stronger now, here."

She'd never have been able to go out on her own and mix with people and speak to people she did not know, to mix with girls her own age. She would never have been comfortable in these clothes and in this life.
