Who: Emma and Belle
What: Sneaky important meeting things
Where: Taunton
Warnings: language, maybe.

Belle made her way purposefully into the waiting room for Emma's office, sitting on one of the chairs, cracking her knuckles.

The knuckle cracking was the nervous habit she'd picked up after she'd stopped smoking. Now she was trying to stop doing that, too. Her mind was very focused, and she thought about any other possible information that would be of use.

Belle grinned. "Oh, I like you."

When the time came, her children were definitely attending here. "It's entirely possible that it's nothing. Dealing with people that we think we know from other timelines is always tricky. But I figured if it's nothing, then no harm done, and if it's not, then forwarned is forarmed."

She leaned back a bit, relaxing, now that the actual business part was over. "I've been trying to think of anything else that could be important, but I don't really know what can be useful."

She's not a hero, after all. Just a concerned citizen.

"Thank you, darling." Emma smirked.

"No, you were entirely correct to come here. I'd much rather be warned and find that there was no danger than to be caught unaware." She nodded. "We'll get to the bottom of this. And the children will be kept safe." One way or another, Emma would keep them out of danger. This place wasn't going to become what Xavier's had been. These children wouldn't have to worry like her former students.

"Any information is good. If you could approach Remy, I would appreciate it. But if you cannot, I will." A pause. If she went to Remy, of course, it was likely that Sinister would be tipped off. They had to approach with caution here.

"I can do it. He trusts me."

The needs of the many always outweigh the desires of the few. "Hopefully, anyway. He didn't seem to have any qualms about asking me to Dr. McCoy's wedding, so it should be simple enough to get close to him."

Getting into his head would be a little trickier.

Emma gave this some thought. "I will be attending the wedding. I might be able to help you glean information off him... maybe make him a bit more open." A pause. "Unless you'd rather just get him a little drunk. That would loosen his tongue a bit. And that shouldn't be too difficult."

She snickered. "Pfft. I'll be surprised if he doesn't arrive a little drunk."

She thought for a moment, then nodded. "I think we can work with that. Now I have to tell him I changed my mind."

Which wasn't that big a deal, she hoped.

Emma nodded. "Just don't let him get suspicious." She didn't know Belle well, but she had a feeling just from the way Belle carried herself that she'd be able to handle it.

She nodded. "Might not be at the wedding, but I can get him close and alone easy enough. All I have to do is tell him I've got a job for him."

She shrugged. It might not be wise to reveal her less than lawful side was still alive and well, but even a cursory check into her background revealed her flaws, so playing the good girl wasn't useful or necessary.

"Fine with me." Emma nodded. If she was bothered by any law breaking, she didn't show it. Emma had enough of a background in illicit affairs that it didn't bother her much. It also didn't hurt that Emma was more a citizen now than an X-Man.

"Bon. I'll see what I can get before the wedding, and you can always probe him there, see if you get more. I'm not exactly the world's strongest telepath, after all."

Not even in the top thirty. But Remy trusted her, and she hoped he would be less guarded when she saw him in a casual setting.

"Sounds like we have a plan," Emma said coolly, leaning forward a little in her seat. "Contact me anytime you find something new." It almost felt good to working together with someone again. Emma missed her days with the X-Men, even though she wouldn't admit it to anyone. "Will that be all?"

"Seems so, unless I have to register this far ahead for my two year olds to attend."

It was more a joke than anything else. It felt odd to be working with someone other than her husband or Jean-Luc. Hell, it felt weird having a conversation with a woman who wasn't one of her girls.

"What's the best way to reach you?" By best she means most secure. Time doesn't seem to be of the essence at the moment, but secrecy is.

"No," Emma smirked. "We have some time before your children are old enough to attend."

She thought for a moment. "Contacting me telepathically is probably the most secure wayt. I'm a very strong telepath. If you think at me loudly enough, I will hear." A pause. "I'll keep myself open to you. And if for some reason you're blocked from me, contact me online or come here directly."

She nodded. "Can do. Thanks for your time."

She stood, straightening her skirt over her (empty) knife holsters. They were more a security blanket than anything else, these days.

"Take care. You need anything, I'm always open for communication. Don't mind the husband, he's the brains of the operation."

She was referring to her mental link with Alex. Odds are, if there were something wrong, he'd be involved in whatever they did to help.
