WHO: Ariel and Meggie Folchart WHAT: Starting to get things in order WHERE: The bookshop in London WARNINGS: Doubt it.
He'd stayed working long into the night, intending to lay the first devil's trap when he left, but apparently he'd been more tired than he'd anticipated. Ariel had simply closed his eyes over a copy of the Kabbalah, and was still there, arms on the table, sound asleep as the sun beat down onto the table. The door was still unlocked. |

WHO: Mary Tudor and George Luz WHAT: much needed friend for Mary WHERE: some random park
While it was true that George barely made it through high school back home, as far as he was concerned he had every right to be: being part of a family with ten kids wasn't easy and in the Depression most kids tried to focus more on earning some extra money than school.
But here, George could actually get a proper education-or so he would if the semester was still in. Call him crazy, but he was still old fashioned enough to believe that summers were to be spent outside enjoying the weather-not inside buried in books. Especially since coming back from Bastigone, he was going to take advantage of the warm and sunny weather while he could.
He also got a dog. George had always wanted one as a boy, but with so many kids already his parents didn't want to waste food on one, but here he could adopt a dog of his own and not worry about the expenses of taking care of him.
That day found him in the park, playing frisbee with his new buddy Trigger 2 (he couldn't name him Trigger-that name was already taken by another great dog). |
