Who: Sam and future!Dean Winchester
Where: The Winchester Compound Winchester Mansion
When: Now-ish
Why: Because Sammy's an awesome brother, and a brother's a brother no matter how...future-y.
Rating: Language for sure. Brothers are fixin' a car.

Sam paced nervously in the garage of his own house. He was going to see his other brother again, only this time it was up to him to hold him together. Dean had been great to talk to, in Vegas. Now Sam had to return the favor. Roxy was napping on her bed, poor thing was still a bit green from the trip.

Dean hated to fly, and he apparently had a thing against Portkeys...but if there was one thing Sam could count on, it was that Dean would come whenever he needed him. No matter how hard it was for him to get there.

Sam stopped pacing, and biting on his cuticles. Dean appeared, bag over his shoulder and he couldn't help but smile.

"Hey man. Yeah, s'the house the poor sumbitch I replaced owned. Me n Dean, we figure its umm...our well deserved vacation. C'mon in, put your bag down. Getcha a beer and take you to the crime scene after that." Sam led the way into the enourmous house, knowing Dean would follow. The kitchen was open and inviting, Sam grabbed a six pack out of the fridge and indicated that the garage was off to the right. He handed Dean a beer first, though.

"You need anything else? Food? I got us huge steaks to grill later."

"Yeah, you can say that again," Dean answered and just looked, well, gawked at the gigantic house they lived in. Must be nice. He was happy for them cause yeah, this isn't where they came from at all. He could pretty much understand why they wouldn't let this place go. He walked inside after Sam and put his bag down by the door and followed Sam into the kitchen. The fridge caught his attention. Huge. Fridge. Oh, the wonders that were in there.

"Nah, I'm cool." Lies. He took the beer though and held it up with a smile before cracking it open and taking a long gulp. "That way?" He pointed. Time to get down to business, after all, it was the reason he came. To fix the car. He remembered the weeks before he died, he was telling Sam everything there was to know about the Impala, his baby and now he imagined that in the other world, Sam was not only trying to get them all back, but his car was being taken care of. He sighed, not even being able to imagine what Sam was going through right now before following Sam out to the garage.

He stopped once he got out there and just stared at her. Holding the beer in one hand, he walked over and ran his fingers over the sides and over the roof before getting to the hood that was already popped open.

The truth was that Sam's Dean had taught him how to fix the car, and most recently they had rebuilt the Mustang...which was in the next garage over.
Sam had artfully taken off a few belts, disconnected the carberator and mismatched some spark plugs. The whole thing looked like a heinous mess and he was quite proud of himself.

"There she is. I uh, well it was making this funny sort of rattle so I tried to...you know." Sam gestured in a helpless manner at the car. "Think you can fix her?" He took a long pull off his beer, before stashing the rest of them in the fridge in the garage. He then pulled up Dean's favorite playlist from the MP3 player and let the mullet rock fly. He'd start artfully prying as soon as Dean was engrossed in car fixing.

"A few beers, tunes, you and the baby, hey, we got ourselves a good day," Dean grinned as he walked over to the front of the car. The hood was already popped and he took a glance over at it all and looked at Sam with an eyebrow raised. "Looks like you were playin' Memory and missed the whole point of the game," he said and set down his beer before taking off his coat. "Yeah, I got it." Assuring him, he rubbed his hands together. Yeah, he didn't even want to ask what Sam was actually doing and suddenly for a split second, it seemed a little fishy to him, but he didn't care.

Once he was engrossed in putting his baby back together, he noticed Sam hovering over him to the point where Dean gave him a look. "You got somethin' to say?" He asked and went back to work. He got the belts back on right and looked it all over to make sure it was good to go before working on something else.

Taking a step back, he grabbed his beer and finished it off. "You doin' better these days?" He asked him and looked him over before heading back to the car. It was only a few days since they'd been back from Vegas, but it felt like a lifetime considering the week he just went through. Then again, he was confused, did that even happen, or was it like some collective dream he was havin' with Sol and the girls? Taking a deep breath, he started back under the hood.

"Ha, ha very funny. I was just...tryin' to fix it." Sam finished his beer.
"I was just watchin' you work, man. That's all."

He didn't want to seem too pushy, after all.

"So, uh...you want hang out here a couple of days, that's cool with me. Wouldn't wanna send you back to the estrogen ocean too soon."

He hoped that would be enough to break the ice if Dean wanted to talk about what had happened to him. He handed Dean the right wrench for the job he was about to do.

"Why do you say that?" he asked and stood up, looking over at him before grabbing the wrench that Sam was holding out. Actually, he was grateful that Sam said that he could stay for a couple of days, but he didn't want to step on any toes. He figured he'd fix the car, stay a night and then hit the road. Or, the portkey. "I mean, not that I wouldn't jump on it, because any time away from them is like the most awesome thing ever, but there's too much shit goin' on, so I probably should get back."

He didn't elaborate cause he was pretty sure that Sam didn't want to hear about it so he went back to what he was doing.

"Because, I'm pretty sure you thought hanging out with a bunch of chicks was awesome in theory...but it *sucks* in real life."

Sam fetched himself and Dean a new beer each, handing his brother the opened bottle.

"Maybe you should stay? I mean, they seem like they can handle themselves. Might be good to get some space, you know." He tried to bait Dean into confessing if he wanted to, while the radio pumped out "Simple Kind of Man".

"Dude, it seriously sucks and most of them bat for their team," He grumbled and shrugged. He grabbed another beer from Sam and took a long drink from it.

He was getting suspicious about Sam asking him to stay - again. "Yeah, would be good," he said slowly and set his beer down. Maybe he was right though, giving them all space and himself space would probably do him good, considering all the shit he's been through.

"Did you see Dad when you were in Vegas?" He asked all of a sudden, looking at him for a second before going back to the car.

"Girls." Sam agreed, not feeling the need to say anything beyond that.

He wathed Dean quietly for awhile. He could sort of sense that his cover was about to be blown, so he backed off.

"Uh, yeah. For a little while. He was workin', though, you know? Vampires. I had no desire to do much else than wallow in my own misery." Sam hoped that admitting the truth was the best thing to do right now.

"Yeah," was all he said and shrugged. He bitched about them alot, but they were the ones he couldn't not be around. Before they all came here, they were this tight nit group or whatever and now, he pretty much relied on Emily the most, especially after everything they've been through. Pretty much if he was going back it was for her. He pondered that for a second before looking at Sam.

And then it hit him that it did have something to do with him. His dad wouldn't see him, but he saw Sam. "Yeah well," he really didn't know what to say to that, so he didn't say anything and instead went back to the car. "So, it's an easy fix, shouldn't take me long. You know, you should come out sometime, the girls are bitches but once you get to know them ... well, they're still bitches," he grinned, teasing a little at Sam.

"If I feel the need to go stateside again, you're my first call. There was this one time you..well, Dean said he needed to to Texas to try chicken-fried bacon. Sounded gross at the time? But it was pretty damn good."

He swigged his beer and leaned under the hood, opposite side where Dean was.

"Dunno, that Emily girl seems nice. Solvei, too. But man, that girl Faith? What a bitch." Sam agreed with his brother. He carefully watched for Dean's reaction to his listing the names in his so-called harem.

"Alright." If he felt the need to go stateside. Right. Rubbing the back of his neck, he just got back to what he was doing with the car. "Oh yeah?" He asked and grinned a little. "Hmm, never had it."

He watched as Sam came over and watched him while he worked, raising an eyebrow when he started talking about the girls.

"Correction, Emily is nice, Solvei ... dude, she's somethin' else and Faith? You just gotta get to know her. Don't let her talk you down. Sam ... my Sam, they'd get in little bitch fights, it was pretty entertainin', especially when we were all drunk ..." he smiled, thinking of the memory and it kinda faded because this Sam had no clue what he was talking about.

"Either way, she's cool. She's hard, but cool."

Once the next item on the list was fixed, he took a step back and grabbed his beer, finishing that one off. Looking at the bottle, he remembered what Faith said and maybe she was right. Burying shit in a bottle. Hey, at least it wasn't whiskey. Jack has not been kind to Dean lately.

"So, tell me about you, you doin' okay since Vegas?"
