Who: Bobby Singer and John Winchester
What: Bobby's going to check on John. He's going to make sure he's really who he says he is. They're probably going to get shitfaced together and talk about the boys, reminisce about being in the Marines and hunting.
Where: Las Vegas
When: Tonight
Warnings: Swearing. Talking about war. Killing some vamps. Probably R-ish.
Bobby felt pretty damn selfish that he was going to be the first person to see John from the other world. He had justified it in his mind by thinking that he wanted to check him out first. He knew that John had come from hell and he knew what happened to people that went to hell. They usually didn't come back from there human. He didn't want the boys to get their hopes up only to be disappointed that the person that claimed to be their Daddy wasn't really theirs. Or he was, but he had bad intentions.
For some reason, Bobby had always felt responsible for the boys like they were his own. Especially so since John had gone. He cared about them and didn't want anything to happen to them. Unlike what he was able to protect them from in their own world. He also hoped that John wouldn't blame Bobby for not keeping Dean safe. Not saving Sam the heartache of losing Dean.
He also had his own cross to bear with John. They were friends going way back to the war. He had told Bobby never to marry the woman that he did. They lost touch while Bobby was married to her just for the mere reason that Bobby's wife couldn't stand John and his blue collar ways. After Bobby's wife had become possessed the only living soul on Earth that gave two shits about him was John Winchester. The words he last spoke to him he'll never forget.
They fought over a fucking poker game that went sour. The stakes were though for him to give Sam the blessing to go to law school. After Bobby lost John had looked at him with that shit-eating grin of his and told him that a son's place was with his family. Bobby could never except that and up until the day of John's death when Sam came to ask Bobby for the supplies to summon old yellow-eyed. Even to the end he had told Sam what his Daddy was doing. When John died Bobby's conscience suffered. Even though he was glad that Dean was alive and would've done the same thing if he was in his shoes he wished that he had never betrayed him.
Bobby took his best bottle of single malt along with him through the portkey. Already opened and had his usual holy water inside of it. He found John's address quickly and went up to his front door. He gave a good solid knock and waited for his friend to open the door.
