When: After word of his accident
Where: Hospital in Cardiff
Warnings: sorta kinda character death, blood, cursing and just to be safe, spoilers for Season 2 of Torchwood.

The team of emergency medical personnel worked furiously to keep Jack's vitals going. He kept crashing and they were concerned that they wouldn't get him to a hospital in time for him to have even a chance at survival. Even they were not entirely sure what happened, except that the man had been littered with bullets as he was caught between rival situations. Two of the witnesses had been injured as well and the third seemed too terrified to admit to what had happened.

"He's crashing again!"

The fight continued.

Rose was the first one to sock the one who had called her a bitch in his face. She didn't get violent very often, but really that had been uncalled for. She might have kneed him in the nuts too while she was at it.

Tosh had been kind of left in the crowd, trying to get her child to safety when she felt something sharp go through her. She looked down to see her shirt turning bright red and she sank down to her knees. The gun had gone off, she'd been shot. She gave this strangled gasp, eyes wide as she slumped over, clutching her stomach.

It was bad, not only because she was bleeding, and shot, but because it was giving her memories as she laid there. Memories of being shot, but not here. At the hub. By.... Jack's brother?

Jack's head whipped around when he heard Tosh's gasp. His eyes widened when he saw the blood. Without thought, he snapped the neck of the man responsible, killing him instantly.

"Toshiko!" he cried out, hurrying over to her and lifting her into his arms. He pressed a hand to her wound. "Toshiko..." He looked up. "OWEN! OLWEN!"

Kyoko spun around, her eyes wide. "No..." She turned back and clocked the startled gunmen in the jaw. Tyler shoved the man he was holding into the nearest wall, knocking him out.

Olwen turned dropping the gun she was holding before she did anything.

"Keep the pressure on it." The words hurt but she wasn't going to let that stop her helping then. She rushed to get the morphine to help with the pain. Trying to work out the risk of moving her, she wasn't a surgeon. She'd seen a similar scene haunt her and so many times she'd wanted to change the outcome of it and finally she had her chance. "Keep her still."

Lyssa sighed and using the noise from what was going on inside and the shouts about the shot fired to get inside. Lyssa headed for where they'd said they were being held on the news report she saw, Ianto following behind her.

Somewhere she could hear Jack and Kyoko yelling her name, but it was all kind of getting dim. All she could really see was Gray's face, staring at her, and then just shooting her. She was losing blood pretty bad, but she remembered.. Owen's voice.

Owen dying.

Dying while he was talking to her. And he didn't know. Oh god it hurt. She didn't move, though tears slid down her face. She wanted to talk, but she didn't know if she could. "Owen.. Jack.. I.."

	"Easy, love," Jack said, tears starting to slide down his cheeks. "Don't talk, let Owen and Olwen help you through this, okay?" Kyoko knelt beside her father. "Mum... "Tosh!"

His eyes widened and he was beside her in an instant. It was clear from the expression on his face that he was freaking out, but trying not to. He looked up at Jack, then back down at Tosh. He really did love her, didn't he. All of a sudden, Owen felt like a real twat for the things he'd said to Jack recently about not seeing him anymore.

"Put pressure on it Jack. Keep her still. We..." He frowned. "We need to make sure there is no internal bleeding. I'd like to move her, but we need a stretcher." He looked over his shoulder at Rose. "Rose. Kyoko. Try to find a stretcher. Something to move her."

He looked up at Olwen. "Olwen, this is your hosptital. We'll need an operating room, as soon as fuckin' possible. We can't take her back to the Hub, we have no time."

He looked down at Tosh. "Don't die on me. Not yet, Tosh."

"Upstairs, we're going to have to risk moving her." Olwen got up and hurried to the phone to page the surgeons, she didn't know if they'd still be in the building or not but they should be allowed back in. She grabbed she small ultrasound as she came back.

"Check for bleeding now." So at least they weren't blind in what they were doing.

Ianto hesitated as he reached the door, seeing Tosh like that he didn't think he should go on. What use was he then anyway? Lyssa took hold of his hand and didn't say anything.

Rose got up with Kyoko, grabbing a hold of the first stretcher that they found and brought it over as fast as they could. After that she didn't know what to do either, so she backed off, maybe to go find the cops and explain what happened, or if they had any questions.

Tosh barely nodded her head, she was feeling woozy, and she didn't think she could keep her head up anymore. Slowly her eyes shut and she slipped into unconsciousness.

"Nononononononono," Jack said over and over as he noticed Tosh slip into unconsciousness. "No, Toshiko. Don't leave me." He looked at Owen and Olwen. "Please. She has to make it!"

Tyler put an arm around his sister, tears forming. Once they got Tosh onto a stretcher and off to surgery, Jack would take care of Kyoko and Tyler would go help his mother. But for now, his sister needed him, especially as he noticed the blood that still trickled down her forehead from the gash she received when she was struck in the head by one of the gunmen. It must've reopened during the scuffle.

Owen needed to be reassuring. "I haven't lost anyone yet, Jack. Not with all the things we've seen and done. I won't lose her now. Help me lift." He looked to Olwen. "Lead the way."

He, with Jack's help, would lift Tosh onto the stretcher and take her, quickly but gently up to the emergency room. "Sod the fuckin' doctors. I'm working on her, Olwen, and you're bloody helping me. Nobody touches her but us," he barked out rather loudly. He almost growled at her.

Olwen nodded, waiting for them to put Tosh on the trolly she headed out and towards the theatre. "This way." Still thinking that they shouldn't be doing this, they were too close, Owen especially. Hoping that one of the surgeons or someone answered her page and would be there waiting for them, taking some of the pressure away. Though not wanting to argue with Owen for the moment. She would if needed though, no doubt there.

	"I'll go with, Mum," Tyler said. He shifted Kyoko from his arms to Jack's, the two clinging to one another. Turning, the blonde hurried over to his mother, putting an arm around her. "Come on, Mum," he said. He wanted to know what the fuck had gone so horrible wrong to lead them all to this. (Reply to this) (Parent)
