Who: Candy and Mutt.
What: Going out to lunch.
When: Wednesday afternoon.
Where University of Chicago.
Warnings: Really mild swearing is possible, but other than that, nope.

Candy had kissed Onyxx goodbye before taking a taxi to the portkey. The process of taking one was always odd, and she felt a bit discombobulated afterwards, but she was getting better with them. Once in Chicago, she got her bearings and slipped into a business building, using her "my mom works here" excuse.

After looking at the map she'd printed out, she flew in the direction of the university, looking down for any people on roofs. She laughed when she saw one, hoping it was Mutt, and angled the craft downward. She had a bag in the glyph, and it had her wallet and things, as well as the iPod she'd loaded for Mutt with a few songs.

He stuck his tongue out and nodded. "Let's get going."

He whistled again as he walked, a Buddy Holly song, this time.

Candy actually knew that song, and she sang along with him, keeping up and not complaining besides the heat. She'd managed to hold onto a moth that had been shot out of the sky with her on it. A tire was easy.

He smiled and started to sing after a minute or two. It was nice to be out and about with someone his own age.

They arrived back at the dorm parking lot, and he became infinitely more cheerful. "Great! So now all we have to do is get her jacked up and change the tires!"

"Is it like a car jack?" Candy flopped down on the ground, wondering where the hell you put a motorcycle jack.

"It, uh, is a car jack. Two of 'em actually."

He cleared his throat and started talking about how tire technology had changed over the years, and how he had to replace the entire wheel and not just the tire, and that had caused him to make alterations to the bike.

He was quite cheerful as he said it, stripping off his leather jacket and tying a rag around his hair. "First step is to get her off the ground."

Candy got on her knees and pulled her hair back. "Just tell me what you need me to do, captain!" She was open for anything.

He nodded, sliding one of the jacks over her way. "Put it just in front the tire, on the frame, to lift the back up."

Candy'd changed a tire with her dad once, when he'd been sober and not as much of a jerk. She set to, pumping the jack a few times and grinning when the bike lifted. "That?"

"Yep!" He said, having his own end jacked up as well. He liked not having to stopp in the middle of things to move the jack.

"Alright. Just unscrew the lugnuts like you would a car tire, and swap it out for a new wheel."

Candy liked knowing what he meant when he said things like lugnut, and she managed to get the nuts unscrewed pretty fast. She did make a faint noise of pain when she dropped the tire on her foot, but she recovered quickly, putting the new wheel on.
