Terrence had not been in a good mood the last time he'd talked to Katie. Although he'd washed all the blood and dirt off his hands by that point, it had all still been settling on his conscience (an annoying part of his personality that was rarely there, but always chose an inopportune time to pop up). Thankfully, his mood had vastly improved since. Not only had he spent the majority of the time in hibernation with Ella (a hibernation which actually had involved very little sleeping, but had done them both a world of good), but he'd had the chance, thanks to Ella's brilliance, to carry out a plan that was significantly less dark than everything he'd been going through recently.
Which had brought him back to his happy medium, and he was more than ready to get back to the normal things he did - work, time with Ella, time with his friends. He'd been looking forward to having another random, carefree adventure, and by the time he'd showed up on K's doorstep, he was prepared.
He'd found a little harbor over the weekend and befriended a man who said he would be more than happy to lend his boat out for an afternoon. Whether he had agreed because he'd caught a glimpse of the Mark on Terrence's arm, Terrence didn't know, but he'd tried to keep it covered. He normally wouldn't have minded taking advantage of what power he had, but having been under the potion himself, he wasn't keen to abuse it.
Which was part of the problem with Katie. He couldn't tell her what he'd done, because she knew he was Marked - she wouldn't even have a chance to hate him for it. He didn't want her to hate him, of course, but he wanted her to have that option. Which meant he probably couldn't tell her the worst things he'd done until she was off the potion, if she ever was. He hoped it wouldn't be terribly long.
But that was definitely not on his mind right now. Right now, he was wearing a pirate's hat and an eye patch that he'd transfigured from random things around his flat, and after their brief conversation, had added glitter to both, as well as a fake, drawn on, elaborate mustache. He knocked on her door, grinned, and called out, "Ahoy, seƱor matey!"
