It was a risk, and Kevin knew it. But he'd been acting for four years now, and he'd gotten (at least in his own estimation) quite good at it. He was dying to get back to the wizarding world, and a bar was a safer place than most to give it a try, right? His face wasn't being printed all over the papers (he'd checked), and he looked different, older, than he had done the last time they would have been able to get a picture of him, anyway.
Tonight, he would be playing the part of Alec Mikos, a pureblood from Greece (but only half Greek, if he couldn't do it convincingly) celebrating his twenty-second birthday in a new land and looking for company, if pleasant company presented itself. He had logged a significant number of details in one of his notebooks about Alec already - favorite subjects and topics of conversation for starters, family history, what sort of poison he enjoyed - but he was more than ready to make something up off the top of his head if necessary, which he would then remember and write down later for future reference.
He entered the bar with a very slight swagger, not exaggerated, just an extra bit of confidence to his walk. He'd chosen a black button-down shirt for the occasion, rolled up to the sleeves and partially unbuttoned, with dark jeans. He'd also darkened his hair for the occasion - the entire impression he wanted to give tonight was that he was much more interested in the dark, cruel, and arcane than he actually was (though he actually was quite interested, just on a theoretical level). He glanced around the bar briefly, an indicator that he was available to join someone for a drink if they wanted, and then found a spot at the bar. He flashed the barkeep his best charming smile and said with a very slight, barely-there accent, "I'll start with a Firewhiskey."
