Firstly, I would like to apologize for the lack of activity on the part of the mods recently. We have failed to do our part as mods to keep this community active and thriving.

After much consideration and debate on our part, we have decided to close Powerton. We are sincerely sorry to see the community end this way and we apologize to those that remained active up to this point -- we appreciate you more than you know.

Hii, this is Megn is back from my way too long hiatus/vacation/school-madness! I'm sorry to everyone who I owe threads/tags to, I'll get to them ASAP.

Hello, hello!! Lisa here with my second character, yay. This is Lanette McCabe, resident (sexy) librarian, who also teaches sophomore English. She's a southern gal, exiled from her family for getting herself knocked up in grad school. She came to Powerton not long after the birth of her daughter, Irene, four years ago.

So in terms of personality, Lanette is a soft-spoken, motherly woman who calls everyone "sugar" and "honey" and never raises her voice. She tends to use more subtle ways to get people to do what she wants like guilt and sweetness. She also tends to dress borderline inappropriately and is well known throughout the student body for her lovely, curvy figure. OH and she knows if you lie to her because she has the power of lie detection. Sorry, guys, those excuses just won't fly with her!

ANYWAY, she lives on campus with her daughter, affectionately known as Reeny, who occasionally needs a babysitter because another thing about Lanette is that the kids don't know is that she loves a good party and is all about going out and having fun when the opportunity presents itself.

SO! I am definitely looking forward to having more fun RP times with everyone and am definitely open to some backstory/setting up relationships!

ETA: ALSO she's sponsor of the SCHOOL NEWSPAPER so if your char is involved with that, she totally knows them! Forgot to mention that, oops!

Hello! I'm pretty sure I know absolutely no one in this game. But that's okay because I love making new friend and meeting new people! This game looked absolutely awesome with some really cool characters, so I couldn't resist applying! I look forward to playing with all of you. :)

Today I bring you Marco Lozano. You can call him Marco or Marc. He's from San Antonio, Texas and he sees dead people. Think Melinda Warren from Ghost Whisperer except far less nice. Marco is the moody, angry, cynical jack ass each school is bound to have. He's blunt. He's not particularly nice. He has no reservations about calling you on your bullshit, and he doesn't have time for your emo tears.

He's spent a lot of time with therapists, being medicated, and then being shipped off away to a special school, so he hasn't exactly been peachy keen. He has anger issues and emotional problems. Most of them stem from his power - ghosts emit tons of empathic energy his way so sometimes the feelings he has aren't his own and they're hard to differentiate. Sometimes he can't sleep well because of the visions he gets - warnings, glimpses of a dead person's life, or how they died. So, he no doubt has a standing appointment with the counselor.

Despite Marco's generally dickish demeanor, he's really a good guy. He's the eldest of four siblings and if you bother to stick it out with him, he's the most loyal friend you could have. He comes from a family where friends are like your extended family and he really does believe that. So, if you manage to become his friend he'll do what he can to make you smile, make your life easier, and help you. He might not say nice things or the right thing, but he's more of a doer than a talker. It's a side of him that few people rarely get to see because all they do see is that dickish side of him.

Wow, that went a little TL;DR. If you stuck through, congratulations! I owe you a prize of some sort. Perhaps a gold star. Or some cookies. Either way, I'd love to set up some lines with everyone! Friends, enemies, etc! I'm down for anything. Really looking forward to playing with you guys.

Hello everyone!

My name is Beth. I'm fresh meat here at Powerton. I like long walks on the beach and seductively eating Popsicles. Actually, Edie had recruited me for I am easily lead in directions of shiny things.

I am bringing in Eve King, Inflecto sophomore. So, hello to the other Inflecto sophomore who she is rooming with! She is an umbrakinetic, which means she plays with the dark in all sort of interesting ways if she pays attention in power training. She can trap people in pure darkness, create very minor constructs, and toss basically her shadow at you. Mostly, she likes to use it to disappear so no one notices her being weird when she's having an awkward moment.

She's a space case of a girl and an absolutely dismal student in anything but art. She always has her headphones on or nearby. Don't ever ask her what happened in class, because she'd probably like to know that too. She's pretty much in to art and weird shit. She's in the Art Club, Photography club, and A/V. She prefers to be part of the crowd cause otherwise she falls all over herself. Eve is AWKWARD. And a tiny gay with braces.

Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated. Maybe not by much, though. My personal life was gone crazy the past few weeks and I have definitely been lacking the time or motivation to RP. HOWEVER, things are looking up (yay!), so I'm going to make an attempt to jump back into the game.

So, if anyone actually remembers me from the five minutes where I was actually doing anything before I disappeared, HI! For the rest of you, I'm Erin and I'm playing Ralston Beck. Stuff to know about me: I am a double full-time student (meaning, I attend two schools - it's complicated), but I am very friendly and totally open to any and all plotting ideas, so if you ever want to talk to me, my CDJ is doodledavinci and my AIM is Agentooawesome.

As for Ralston, he is an Inflecto junior with teleportation powers. He is the adopted son of two moms, and therefore hates homophobia and WILL confront you about it, if it ever came up. He works customer service at the Book Barn, and he is very smart. The boy loves his math and his science. However, his people skills are not quite so well-developed. He's one of those guys that you just KNOW is going to grow up to be a Mad Scientist.

Personality-wise, Ralston is normally quite cheerful and optimistic. While he tends to completely ignore things that don't interest him, he is eager and enthusiastic about things that do, which many people tend to mistake for him actually being friendly. However, this would be untrue in the extreme. While not UNfriendly, he is most definitely impatient, easily irritated, short-tempered, and almost pathologically insensitive. The fact that other people actually have feelings, or that he might be being rude and insulting - these are things which rarely, if ever, cross his mind. He has more important things to think about, so don't waste his time, mmmkay?

So, he's totally open for friends (both easily offended ones who want to light him on fire half the time and stubborn ones who don't take his shit), enemies & archnemesises, and anything in between. ;D

Hi everyone! It's Bronte again with another.

This is Josie, Fortitudo senior, Drama Club president, works at the Coffee Plant and has the power of Liquification. So basically she can turn herself into liquid and is working on turning things she is touching into it too.

Personality wise, she's friendly to everyone, loves gossip, is a hypochondriac and will always claim to have some sort of disease and loves to make everything sound more dramatic than it really is. She is a gernerous person and is always happy to lend stuff to people, like her massive collection of sunglasses and jewellery and other assorted accessories but she keeps a list of what's been borrowed and by who and gets annoyed if you don't retrun stuff. And I think that's pretty much it. :)

Hey, everybody. It's Lissa again and Beau is right, I have a problem.

Anyway, this is Avery, your trusty head janitor at Powerton. He's got the requisite amount of skeeviness for a janitor but hopefully he doesn't seem like too much of a creeper! Chill to the extreme, you will never wonder why he chose this career path. Avery is completely without ambition and very happy about that fact. He enjoys being a passive person and believes that the universe will put him where he's meant to be.

Mutedly friendly and supportive, he talks to the students a little more than he should and sees himself more as their peer than the staff's. And, if you've ever got a problem and want to vent or just don't feel like going legit and seeing the school counselor, Avery will hear you out and offer some canned reassurance. 'Just go with it, it'll work out, nah, no reason to worry' etc. His advice will probably just get you into trouble. His judgment hasn't done him much good, after all. With his fellow staff members, however, Avery can be pretty close-mouthed. It's not that he doesn't like them (well, some of them...), but work-friends... that's so depressingly middle-aged.

Power-wise, Avery is what you would call a fixer. He can reset people, places and things to a former state, providing he's seen them before. There are also a few other limitations, like he can't bring anything back to life, he can't repair anything intangible and can't get rid of anything that's currently alive. But the graffiti on the side of school, the chair that broke in the library and the rat corpses strewn about like confetti, yes, he can deal with all that. If you have an injury, he might be able to help you. Curing diseases and illnesses, however, isn't in his repertoire.

What else, what else. He's a bartender at Sally's. He's much, much friendlier to Powerton staff at the bar, probably because he is half-faced most of the time. But if he likes you, free drinks on Thursday. Avery has a massive sweet-tooth, can't do math for shit and speaks Spanish. His app is here if you guys wanna get some more details.

HI GUYS. This is Lucy with my ~final~ character, Claire Sykes! Claire is a Fortitudo senior (sup Dela and Fusako~~). Her schedule is here and her profile is here, so feel free to check those out! CLUB WISE, Claire is the ~student council treasurer~ (HI STUDENT COUNCIL) and is very active and into her position (and obviously at least a majority of the student body voted her in, so there's that!). She's also the Drama Club Vice President, and she'll sign up for basically anything short lived (like the dance committee, although she's prob. involved due to being student council treasurer, and like...budgeting the thing?). She's also a member of the cooking club, but if you know what's good for you, you probably won't eat anything she makes.

Claire's sense of taste, you see, is a bit wtf. This is because her power is ~matter ingestion~. She can eat ANYTHING, and nothing really tastes "bad" to her. She has a strong set of teeth - since she can bite through anything to, y'know, eat it - and...well, that's her power. SHE ALSO HAS TO EAT A LOT - she's always snacking on something pretty much 24/7, and while it's normally "usual food", sometimes she'll get desperate in class and resort to eating pens. BUT! Nothing she eats can affect her in any way (like, burning water? NOT HURTFUL AT ALL, although if she gets it on like, her outside skin or whatever it will burn normally). Or anything she drinks. Claire can't get drunk at all, but oral medicines also don't do anything for her, so there you have it. She also never, ever gains any weight. It's incredibly strange for most people since she is always eating, but her metabolism makes as much sense as her ability to digest solid metal or like...bombs or basically anything. OBVIOUSLY SHE DOES NOT GET FOOD POISONING, EVER. Also, Claire will totally finish anything you're not eating if you're a friend, but she won't do so without, like, permission.

POWERS ASIDE~~, Claire is super energetic (like, she is CONSTANTLY moving and up to something) and fairly cheerful. She's upbeat most times, although she's not like...stupidly optimistic. JUST HAPPY-NATURED. Claire tends to laugh people and things off more often than not (LOL WHATEVER GUYS, JUST ENJOY~~ LIFE~~~) but if she DOES get mad, she holds grudges like whoa. FOREVER. She is still pissed off at people from preschool, okay. Passion is not something Claire lacks. That said, it normally takes a bit of doing to get her to that point.

She's really super efficient and organized despite being ~cheery~ and she gives everything she does 110% (SHE IS A MAD GREAT PARTNER TO HAVE, SHE IS ALL ~FULL STEAM AHEAD~). One of her biggest pet peeves is people not ~trying~ or ~giving up~ because Claire? Definitely a try try try again~ sort of person. She sort of can be a total busy body if someone is not solving their own problems, because she will HOP IN TO HELP because it annoys her otherwise, and also she is admittedly something of a gossip. Claire loves talking about things and hypotheticals and just knowing what is going on~~ but she honestly doesn't mean it like. Maliciously. She'll apologize if she upsets someone usually, she just...loves chatting and gossip okay? And she knows it's not always like, true, she just likes talking about things.

Despite things like that, Claire is thankfully pretty honest, and genuinely open and friendly. She's pretty much willing to help people out 24/7, and she's not that hard to get along with for the most part (if you want to get along with her, at least!) and she is really honestly interested in people and their thoughts and feelings. SOCIAL BUTTERFLY, she is one!

Hello everyone!

So some (many?) of you may have noticed a lack of plot post for this past Friday. Things have been kinda slow in the thread community. Real life has managed to swoop in and steal away quite a few people -- which is perfectly understandable. In an effort to keep everyone together, we're going to wait to put up the plot post until next Friday. We will still be doing day changes, but don't expect much exhilaration between now and then.

We are also going through the process of the end of the month activity check, which has become slightly harder because of so many people taking some time. Everyone can expect an email between now and tomorrow from us just to touch base, say howdy, and make sure we're all still here!

We apologize for the slowing down to those that are still here being active, but we encourage you to take this time to thread and develop interpersonal plots with each other!

So ... I'm a complete (and still sickish) idiot. I deleted all the pretty little emails letting me know what logs I'm in. If I'm in something with you with Sia, Dolly, Mal, or Leif ... can you please post here with the link so I can start getting replies out there again?

I'm afraid I'll be MIA for the next week due to exams/projects/school insanity. If I get the time I'll try to post some, but I can't guarantee anything. I wish it wasn't so, however my teacher's don't seem to understand that I enjoy having fun (and not being locked in my room).

I know I should let you guys that I was going to be gone for a while and for that I am deeply sorry.  I have got four exams this week, with two having already been taken and the other two waiting to be taken.  I will be about until Friday and then I will be back full force.  Again, I am sorry for not letting you guys know and I will do better with it.
