Neville was quieter than normal as they boarded the train outside Saint Mungos. They'd been lucky that the track had been cleared, one of the first jobs that had been done after the final battle. Neville wouldn't have fancied travelling any other way. He stared out of the window, watching everything move past the window as the train pulled out of the station. He knew that he should be paying attention to Susan, after all, she'd been kind enough to accompany him on his trip to the hospital, but he wasn't exactly sure where to start. His mind was crowded with thoughts of his parents and how he'd let them down. It was overcrowding, his sense of guilt and he really needed to talk about something else. His mind flitted to the conversation he'd had that morning with Theo in the common room. He wondered if Susan had met the boy before. He had taken some of the same classes as she had over the past few years.

Neville forced a smile as he left Susan in the canteen to make his way upstairs to the overly familiar room that served as his parents resting place. He could have sworn that the corridor seemed to grow each time he visited, drawing out the sense of apprehension that he felt. He vividly remembered his first trip down these hallways with his gran when he was barely able to walk. He'd been excited, anxious to see his parents. He hadn't understood why they weren't living with him. He still didn't really. Wouldn't it have been better to have them at The Grove, with their own private carers? To have them somewhere with people who loved them and cared for them? But that was a thought for another day.
