Who: Seamus Finnigan, Luna Lovegood?, and OPEN
What: The Wedding Reception! Of DOOM!
Where: A meadow in Northern Ireland.
When: Wednesday June 18th, 2002. Early afternoon
Rating: E for everybody!
Status: Open/In progress.

The wedding had been pretty amazing by Seamus' standards. He had no idea how Luna and his mam got on, but they had managed one hell of a wedding. Even the reception was amazing. A maypole, flowers everywhere, plenty of green, lively music, and alcohol. Lots of alcohol. Seamus could only hope certain people were staying from the alcohol. He really did not need a scene.

Thinking back on the wedding, Seamus pulled his tie off and unbuttoned the top of his shirt. It was too bloody hot in the day to be wearing so many layers. He smiled as he remembered actually seeing Luna walking down the aisle. He barely knew her and she seemed the most beautiful woman in the world at the moment. He had been so happy his mother had insisted on flowers in her hair. Seamus had forgotten the priest was talking to him for a moment as he smiled at his bride. Only a sharp jostle from his best man had brought him to attention.

Seamus smiled, grabbing a glass of lager out of somebody's hands as he searched out his wife. Wife. Now that was an amazing word. Afraid he wouldn't be able to find anybody in the crowd he yelled out, "OI! Anybody seen me wife?" He rolled his eyes as a man nearby made fun of him for losing her already. Another man was commenting how that was never a good sign. "Bloody drunkards."

"What have you eaten today?" Seamus kept his smile on for appearances sake. Already some women were looking at him and gossiping. Though that could very well be because of the smiley face icing picture Luna did on his cheek.

"And you're drunk. Not cheerful. Why the bloody hell did you drink so much? I could have sworn I told you not to."

"'ve had a muffin for breakfast," Kris replied defensively, starting to search through his pockets absently-minded.

"'m not drunk an' an'...just felt weird and then I had a drink an' felt better an' then I had another one an' felt even better," stopping his very predictable tale of how he had ended up drinking so much Kris wrinkled his nose, a look of utter devastation on his face as he looked up at Seamus again.

"Seamus? Where are my cigarettes? Have you seen my cigarettes? I need my cigarettes!"

"A muffin is not enough. Especially if you're drinking that bloody much." Seamus didn't bother hiding his brogue, he was too annoyed with Kris to care. "You don't need your blasted fags either. Just sit down and I'll get you some water. Something to eat too. We have a bloody feast and you're refusing to eat anything."

Seamus waved over one of the women, politely asking her for a glass of water and a plate for his drunk friend. She happily returned moments later and he rewarded her with a smile before she rushed off. "Here. Eat. Sorry it's so weird for you."

For a moment Kris looked as if he was about to start crying as he sat down again, stopping the fruitless search for his cigarettes, hands trembling a little. Maybe his mum was right and he should stop smoking so much, he was addicted to the nicotine already. Without the calm a smoke normally brought Kris started to fidget.

"'m not hungry. An' 'm sorry, probably shouldn't have come," He shrugged a little helplessly, sipping the water.

Seamus took hold of one of Kris' hands, clasping it tightly so he would stop fidgeting. Odd since Seamus was fighting the urge to fidget himself. For different reasons, of course.

"You need something to eat. It'll take the edge off the alcohol." He gave a small smile, finally letting go of Kris' hand to tap on the table. "I'm glad you came though." He wondered how awkward it would be seeing Kris married.

Kris sighed softly, trying to stop fidgeting. Which was hard, because he was either smoking or fidgeting. It had always been hard for him to stay still and especially now that he was so restless it proved a challenge.

"You're sounding like my mum," Kris muttered, listlessly eating a bit and frowning every now and then. Looking up again he gave Seamus a wonky smile.

"You are?"

"I hope I don't sound like a woman in her late forties. That's worrying." Seamus smiled, watching Kris eat. He didn't point out that it was because he cared. He sipped on his lager and leaned back.

"I'm definitely glad you're here. Do you really think I would lie to you about it?" It was hard to stay well behaved when all he wanted to do was kiss Kris. Which was wrong because it was his wedding and the gorgeous woman he just married was across the room. But then again, was it so wrong to feel the same way towards two different people?

"It is," Kris nodded, regretting that action when the world started to spin again. Closing his eyes for a few seconds he waited for the spell to pass.

After taking another bite he pushed the plate away, not hungry anymore and shrugged.
"Dunno. I mean, it's your wedding and you and Luna seem happy together and that's nice. I don't want to intrude."

"Keep drinking the water. You need it, mate." He smiled, feeling an odd jerk in his stomach. Was that guilt? He shouldn't feel guilty. Not when he had told Luna about Kris. Not when she had sort of approved in that odd way of hers.

"I don't see why I'm not allowed to be happy with two people. I care for you both. Which is surprising since normally I don't like loons or gits with a bony arse." Seamus winked playfully.

With a huff Kris took the glass again and started sipping the water, trying to suppress the nearly overwhelming urge for a smoke. A smoke, anything to calm his nerves would do.

"Don't have a bony arse." Kris pouted, putting the glass back on the table and continuing with the fidgeting.

"Dunno, maybe. This is just new for me and I guess I have to get used to the situation or something..."

"Kris, you're a right pain in the arse sometimes. Hope you know that." Seamus was glad he was able to talk more clearly. The bad thing about being with relatives was it brought out the Irish brogue.

"The situation being...?"

"Well. This whole...thing." Kris made a grand gesture, nearly knocking over the glass of water.

"This whole marriage craziness and...and us and also us getting married and...I'm confused.

"If you're not sure we can... stop at least part of it. The part we can control." Which Seamus did to want to end at all. He tried not to pout and fidgeted under the table.

"Fucking Ministry."

"Wha'? Oh no, that's not what I want," Kris mumbled hastily, looking at the table and drawing patterns on it with one finger.

"Jus' meant that this is going to need some getting used to, yeah?" He briefly glanced up at Seamus.

"Fucking stupid Ministry indeed. Wonder wha' would've happened if we'd met earlier."

Seamus smiled, tracing the top of his cup. "No bloody idea. Though we may not have met at all if it wasn't for the Ministry doing this."

He smiled and kicked Kris under the table. "We'll get used to it."

"Does that mean we have to thank the Ministry?" Kris frowned, taking another drink of water. Slowly but surely he could think clearer again.

"Ouch! You didn't have to kick me to get your point across, git," Kris mock glared, but after a few seconds his lips formed a smile again.

"We will. Guess I'm a bit out of it after all the studying and working double shifts. No more studying for now though, so I can actually sleep tonight."

"Studying?" SHITE! Seamus cursed inwardly then remember his own test was sometime next week. That was reassuring at least. He smiled, sighing and finished off his lager. "Right. So no more drinking for you today, alright?"

"Uh-huh, studying. Had that admission exam yesterday," Kris reminded him before he pouted once more.

"Not even one tiny drink?" He asked hopefully. "I promised your uncle to have a drink with him..."

"You can have a drink with my Uncle some other time. You've had enough." Seamus shot him a look as if to say I have spoken. It was his wedding and he'd do what he wanted.

"anyways, when do you know if you passed the exam?"

"But who knows if I'll ever see him again? He's really funny," Kris whined but finally gave in with a sigh.

"Should get an owl with my results within the next few days. Which means everytime an owl is so much as flying by I'll have a heart attack."

"You'll see him again, now stop acting like a five year old." Seamus laughed, relaxing in his chair while tapping his fingers on the table. He saw his mother looking around frantically and straightened up.

"Shite. Well, let me know when you get the owl. I should be heading back now. I have to mingle. And smear some icing on my wife." Seamus stood up, fighting back the urge to do something, anything, affectionate. Instead he just gave Kris a pat on the back. "I'll see you later, mate." He then walked away, feeling a sinking in his stomach. He hated hiding.

Kris tensed up a little at the word wife. Yes, he had a lot of getting used to do to.

"Right. See you later," He forced himself to smile as he watched Seamus walk away. Kris sat at the table for a few minutes longer, staring blankly at the air before he got up with a sigh, deciding that it would be best if he left.
