Who: Seamus Finnigan, Luna Lovegood?, and OPEN
What: The Wedding Reception! Of DOOM!
Where: A meadow in Northern Ireland.
When: Wednesday June 18th, 2002. Early afternoon
Rating: E for everybody!
Status: Open/In progress.

The wedding had been pretty amazing by Seamus' standards. He had no idea how Luna and his mam got on, but they had managed one hell of a wedding. Even the reception was amazing. A maypole, flowers everywhere, plenty of green, lively music, and alcohol. Lots of alcohol. Seamus could only hope certain people were staying from the alcohol. He really did not need a scene.

Thinking back on the wedding, Seamus pulled his tie off and unbuttoned the top of his shirt. It was too bloody hot in the day to be wearing so many layers. He smiled as he remembered actually seeing Luna walking down the aisle. He barely knew her and she seemed the most beautiful woman in the world at the moment. He had been so happy his mother had insisted on flowers in her hair. Seamus had forgotten the priest was talking to him for a moment as he smiled at his bride. Only a sharp jostle from his best man had brought him to attention.

Seamus smiled, grabbing a glass of lager out of somebody's hands as he searched out his wife. Wife. Now that was an amazing word. Afraid he wouldn't be able to find anybody in the crowd he yelled out, "OI! Anybody seen me wife?" He rolled his eyes as a man nearby made fun of him for losing her already. Another man was commenting how that was never a good sign. "Bloody drunkards."

Luna felt as if she hadn't stopped smiling the entire day. The wedding had been better than she had even expected, bright and warm and full of color and happiness. Even if it had not come by the way she had thought it would, it was exactly the type of wedding she had always dreamed of and she had never been happier. Seeing Seamus standing in front of her had been something unexpected, he had looked handsome and happy and it was a moment she would always remember.

She skipped around two men who she could only guess were Seamus's relatives doing a lively jig in the middle of dance floor, the white skirts of her dress swirling around her knees as she looked for her new husband. She giggled. What a strange thing to be thinking, husband but it filled her with a new kind of warmth. Really though, he was he husband. She just spotted the back of his head when she heard him calling for her and her smile somehow widened. Luna made her way over to him and looped and arm around his waist.

"Here I am, Hubby!" she giggled again.

Hubby. He'd have to get used to that. Though he was already pretty fond of the nickname. He just had no blasted idea of what to call her. Instead of trying to figure it out though, Seamus smiled and pulled her around, turning to give her a chaste kiss on the corner of her mouth.

"Oh good, was worried for a sec. Thought me mam had kidnapped ya. Careful. The woman's a nutter." Tucking his arm around Luna's waist he ushered her towards their honorary seats so they could eat. And drink. Seamus was looking forward to some hearty drinking before night set in. He faintly heard his mother arguing with his uncles in the background so he sped up.

"How was the wedding, love?" He pulled the chair out for her, guiding her into it before taking a seat beside her. His hand lay on hers.

Her mouth opened into a small 'o' as he dropped a kiss on her face before widening into a smile, feeling a very slight flutter in the pit of her stomach. No one had ever done that to her before, was this what husbands and wives did? She allowed him to lead her to their seats on their uplifted table and sat down.

"I rather like your mother so kidnapping doesn't seem like it would be too terrible, she has quite a lot of energy." The woman really was a lot of fun and Luna found herself really enjoying her company during the planning of the wedding. "The wedding was perfect, everything I had hoped it would be. Did you enjoy it?" She scanned the crowd, seeing the bright white halo of her father's hair as he was apparently lecturing one of Seamus's relative's over by the bar. She waved happily at him.

"It was a lot better than imagined. No flames enveloping wedding guests or anything." He grinned, watching her wave to her father. The dad really wasn't as bad as Seamus had been afraid of. It seemed almost everybody in the Lovegood family was good natured. Much better than the drunken sods he called relatives. He had even caught his mother sneaking some whiskey under the table.

His eyes wandered over the group of guests, looking from this height was definitely better. In particular he was looking for a rather cocky black-haired man who had a liking for alcohol, but not for food. Choosing to focus on his lovely wife, Seamus turned to Luna with a half-smile. "I'm not really sure what we're supposed to do up here, but I know I want some of that cake. Want to try stealing some?"

She had seen him looking through the crowd and she assumed she was looking for Dean or the rest of their Hogwarts friends. She hoped that a lot of their friends had the chance to attend, she hadn't really taken the time to look at everyone as she walked down the aisle. She had been a bit too nervous, more nervous than she thought she would have been.

"Well, it is our cake so they can't fault us from having some." Luna stood up, reaching out a hand for him. "I have no idea what type it is though, I let your mother pick."

"Truthfully, I have no bloody idea what kind she would pick. At least we know I'm not allergic though." He grinned, taking her hand and using his free hand to grab a fork. "Shhh, we have to be sneaky or they'll make a big commotion." Kneeling down a bit, he awkwardly walked to the cake, his hand still holding hers. He did not want to be attacked by the guests yet. He just wanted a moment alone with the cake. And his wife.

Once he reached the back of the cake he stuck the fork in it, letting go of Luna's hand for a moment. He let his hand drift under the fork and cake as he guided it towards Luna. "Say 'aaaaa', love." He grinned, holding the first forkful for her.

Laughter was shaking Luna's shoulders as she crouched down to follow him around to the cake. Absentmindedly she wondered what would happen if anyone was to catch them taking a taste of the cake, especially his mother, but she wanted some and this was just too much fun. She was glad she was wearing flat shoes or she surely would have fallen in heels, walking the way that they were.

"Thank you." She leaned forward and opened her mouth and allowed him to feed her the cake, her laughter nearly making her choke as she chewed it. She hummed in pleasure at the moist texture of the lemon and cream confection, licking a bit of icing from the corner of her mouth. "Delicious." She grinned.

Due to the circumstances of the weddings that were taking place left right and center, Harry had fully intended on attending as many of his friends weddings he could. He had even gone so far as to book some time off this week. The way he saw it he deserved to have a bit of time off, it was quite stressful having to meet and marry someone you barely knew, not to mention all the planning and reorganizing of one's lives.

He hadn't yet been able to catch Seamus and Luna yet and he'd been on his way when he'd seen them sneak off. Making sure no one was paying much attention, he followed them, having to hold back a laugh when he spotted them sneaking cake. He's was relieved that Seamus had been the one to marry Luna. She had her oddities, but she was a wonderful person. "It's part of our training."

"Oh, hello Harry" Luna said cheerfully, seeing the dark haired man out of the corner of her eye. She reached up and grabbed the edge of the table holding the cake to pull herself out of Seamus's lap and to her feet. "We were just having a bit of cake. Don't mention it to anyone."

"Your secret is safe with me, Mrs. Finnigan." he grinned, stepping forward to hug her. It had been a while since he'd seen either of them and was glad to have a chance to catch up. "You look beautiful."

Once he released Luna, he grinned over her shoulder to Seamus. "Don't worry, Seamus. You look beautiful too." he smirked, knowing Seamus would be the first to start in on the harmless teasing had it been him.

"Oh good, I was going to be seriously hurt if you didn't think I looked beautiful on my wedding day. Oh, I'm the happiest groom alive!" Seamus laughed, leaning to give Luna a kiss on her forehead.

"Love, hope you don't mind but I need to greet the other guests. Harry, we can catch up later, aye? Take care of my wife and don't tease her too much." He gave a friendly wink and walked off, searching for other familiar faces.

"I figured you would, mate." Harry chuckled, stepping out of the way to let him pass. "I'll catch up with you later."

Harry turned his attention back to Luna. "So, is it as horribly awkward as everyone seems to think theirs will be?" he asked raising an eyebrow. "Think the rest of us who weren't lucky enough to snap Miss.Lovegood will survive?"

Luna leaned over to wave at Seamus as he disappeared into the crowd before smiling up at Harry. "Thank you Harry." She chirped. "Actually, its not awkward at all. Seamus is a really nice guy and things have been going on rather well."

She reached out to slid her arm through his, looking up at him curiously. "I can't say I know how everyone else will survive though. How are you doing Harry? Have you set a date yet? I'm looking forward to your wedding."

Ginny, as well, had been planning to attend the weddings that seemed to yield a happy agreement. Or well, an agreement of any kind. And, of course, if Seamus and Luna had been betrothed to anyone - not necessarily each other - Ginny would have attended happily and with extremely warm wishes. To be honest, Ginny found the couple, although they were forcefully joined together by the Ministry, was quite charming, if not plain entertaining. She would have expected quite an entertaining wedding from either of the two, but hearing them call eachother wife and hubby just made it all the more amusing.

Having been asked to be Luna's maid of honour was something she didn't necessarily expect. However, it was beginning to push Ginny in a warmer environment concerning the set pairings. Luna was clearly very pleased with the get together and Seamus was, as always, quite warm company. Ginny, who had been quiet for most of the preparations, still a bit uneasy about the whole process, but would volunteer to help with whatever was needed. Seeing as the reception had begun, however, Ginny did well to find a drink - or two - and company.

Ginny's hands were tugging at the waist of her dress, a light green picked specifically by the bride herself. Her hair was, as per usual, falling down her back, shorter than it was in her Hogwarts years, but long enough to fall well past her shoulders. She had kept quiet most of the day, but couldn't help but find herself in the midst of a long, genuine grin at the situation and, simply, about the interaction between Luna and Seamus. Having spotted company she not only preferred over strangers, but company she had been seeking for a good amount of time at the wedding, Ginny quietly - or as quietly as she could in heels - pulled herself close behind Harry. She had, as her childhood had taught her, learned to be overtly quiet when using it to her own advantage. Ginny had a knack of catching those who thought they were catching someone else.

"Yes, when's your wedding?" Ginny's voice bled sarcasm to those who don't know her well. It was genuine, though, to those who did. She spoke low and steady, but her mouth was curved, waiting perhaps for the expectedly calm reaction to her interruption. Ginny tucked her free hand in between her elbow, and rested the base of her glass on he other elbow. Although confident looking, Ginny truly loved the company she had just breeched upon and made it known with her eyes.

Harry smirked over his shoulder as Ginny came up behind them. "I could ask you the same question, Gin." he responded, stepping to the side to allow her into their circle. "I'm attempting to ignore the details. Mrs. Greengrass is pretty much dictating what's going on with the input from Daphne, so I figure, I'm not needed." he responded, shrugging.

"It works for me and the elder Greengrass doesn't have any more reason to despise me...other then ruining the Pureblood line..which in all honesty, wasn't my fault."

"Ginny!" Luna exclaimed happily when the red haired woman came made her way into their little circle. "My honorable maiden." Ginny had been the very first person to come to mind when Luna had thought of a maid of honor. The woman was easily her very best female friend and since she knew that Ginny still didn't agree with the entire idea of the Ministry arranging marriages, it made her agreement to be in the wedding even more special.

She nodded to Harry. "Seamus's mother was very much the same. She had her own ideas on how she wanted the wedding to go but luckily it wasn't too different from mine. Well Ginny, don't you have to marry...Wayne was it? By the end of the week or its a trip Azkaban for you." The words were spoken casually, as if she was simply speaking of a trip to the market. Really, she knew Ginny was still beyond reluctant about her upcoming marriage but there wasn't anything she could do about it. Luna would hate to see her friend in such a horrible place as Azkaban.

"Well, it wouldn't really be terrible because technically she would no longer be a Greengrass but a Potter." She blinked up at him. "Right?"

Ginny's eyebrows raised in response to Luna's greeting. Luna held a very specific and different spot in her heart, though it was very close to and often the spot her family belonged in. Though, she found she didn't have as many arguments with Luna as with the latter. Her mouth spread into a grin as she feigned a curtsie as well as she could. "At your service, I suppose. Should you need any honourable maiden services." Of course would have agreed. She had learned to agree with what Luna says more often. The woman had a knack for unseen wisdom, despite the dreamy demeanor she exuded.

Ginny's eyes watched the interaction between Harry and Luna. While Ginny may have been more quiet than normal, she hadn't exactly noticed it. She did notice the twisted feeling she got in her stomach, though, when that certain marriage conversation came up. "I guess. Though a whole wedding may cost as much as the first defense for refusal." She shrugged after taking another sip of her drink and looked to Luna again. "Besides, the wedding would be shabby compared to this one." While it was a compliment, Ginny meant it wholeheartedly. She doubted any wedding where the two people didn't want to be there would be as lovely as one in which they did.

A smirk returned to Ginny's face as Luna addressed Harry. "Right, isn't that how it works?" Her teasing tone was hard to disguise.

"Oh definitely," Harry grinned. "Nothing could possibly compare with this. I have to had it to you Luna. You conquered Seamus, his mother, and put on the Wedding of the year. No easy feat."

Harry didn't mind talking about other weddings, but when it came to his own, he was still having some difficulties coming to terms with the fact that it was actually going to happen...this coming Saturday as a matter of fact. Just the very idea of it being so near made him wince. Plenty of grooms experienced cold feet, but this was ridiculous.

"It doesn't necessarily have to cost a fortune. It just depends on what you want and where you want it. Hell, you could grab two witnesses, a groom, and an official and you've got yourself a wedding."

"I don't think I have quite conquered Seamus yet." Luna laughed lightly. "It's more that we are both compromising for mutual happiness."

It was the best thing either of them could do in the situation. She wanted to be happy and she wanted Seamus to be happy and the only way for that to happen was for the both of them to find a middle ground. Today, she actually found herself feeling that happiness, that contentment. She was going to do her best to make sure things stayed like this as long as they were together.

"I'm sure both of your weddings will be wonderful."

Being at Seamus' wedding had been one of the most weird experiences in Kris' life. Like something totally surreal. Ah, the world was definitely too confusing for him these days. Too many things had happened too fast and there were too many feelings threatening to overwhelm him. However, all of this was soon forgotten after a few drinks. In the back of his mind Kris thought that he really ought to stop drinking in order to stop his thoughts from racing through his mind. Well, whatever. He had taken the admission exam for St. Mungo's yesterday and it hadn't gone too badly, so that was a reason to celebrate, right? Right. Surrounded by Seamus' relatives (who really loved their drinks) celebrating was not too hard either and Kris soon found himself laughing about some weird joke about a leprechaun and a priest one of Seamus' uncles told.

After managing the guests for the most part, and leaving Luna in the capable hands of her friends, Seamus had decided he had spent enough time pretending he wasn't looking for somebody. He wanted to know where Kris was. He couldn't very well ask his relatives because they were all gossip-mongers, the lot of them. After looking for a bit Seamus finally decided to give up and drink with his relatives. May as well make the most of it.

It figured that would be where he would find Kris. "Oi, hope you aren't getting my friend here pissed." Seamus smiled at one of his cousins, rolling his eyes as he heard the last of an old joke. Seamus grabbed a large pint of lager and downed it, wiping the foam from his mouth.

"Kris, how much have you had?"

"My my, Mister Finnigan, how sweet of you to grace us with your presence," Kris grinned and downed the last of his drink, blinking when the world spun a little around him, contributing to his utter amusement. Looking at Seamus again Kris frowned, as if thinking hard about it.

"Only...two...four...five...drinks. I think." He shrugged, smiling sheepishly. "No' nearly enough, though..."

"Uncle Angus, I'm disappointed you're getting ma friends drunk." Seamus glared at his drunkard Uncle, his Irish lilt coming out more than usual. The last thing he needed was Kris drunk off his arse. "You see he's a wee thing!"

Seamus put his arm around Kris, supporting him while ushering him to another table. "More than enough, I say. You're cut off Kris. Now sit down." Seamus took a seat near Kris, pulling Kris into the closest chair. "You're drunk off your arse."

"'m not a wee thing!" Kris protested, giving Seamus a glare that would maybe have come out as a real glare had he been sober. It was only under protest that Kris let Seamus lead him away from the group and over to another table. Sitting down and huffing like a pouting five year old he crossed his arms over his chest.

"'m not. 'm just cheerful, 's all."

"What have you eaten today?" Seamus kept his smile on for appearances sake. Already some women were looking at him and gossiping. Though that could very well be because of the smiley face icing picture Luna did on his cheek.

"And you're drunk. Not cheerful. Why the bloody hell did you drink so much? I could have sworn I told you not to."
