WHO: Harry and Daphne
WHEN: Monday, June 16th, 2002 - 7pm
WHERE: Matsuri (Japanese Restaurant)
WHAT: Let's try this again
RATING: Uhh....whatever....
STATUS: Closed / Complete

Having spent almost an hour chatting with Susan at the Leaky Cauldron, Harry had forgone his shopping all together. He had to work tomorrow but he'd have more then enough time once he was off and the items really weren't things he couldn't live without. Just random items he'd only know realized he'd run out of. Shrugging it off, he had headed back to his flat in order to shower and change. He was slightly looking forward to the evening. He had not had the chance to dine at Matsuri in quite a while. If he recalled correctly, the last time he had been there was with Ron and Hermione, much to Ron's displeasure. He was more of the buffet sort of person.

Once he had finished, he made the quick and painless journey over to the restaurant and checked in for their reservations. As he sat at their table and waited patiently, he glanced around. He'd lucked out and managed to book a time when the restaurant wasn't overly busy and still maintained the calm and unhurried air about it. He figured if anything, they both needed a little bit of that to counter balance the push from the ministry. If he thought about it, which he didn't want to, they were suppose to be wed by the end of this coming week. If that wasn't enough to make one sweat, he really didn't know what else was. For the moment he was simply focusing on the detail. If he looked a single detail at a time instead of the larger picture he might be able to make it through everything with his sanity in tact.

Daphne felt awkwardly inclined to go ahead and say that they'd go together some day, but that meant she'd have to convince herself further that she wasn't getting married forever. That's what she had been telling herself for the past couple of days. And that Harry was just a nice bloke she happened upon. Saying she'd be able to take him to Japan someday meant that they'd be together up until that someday and she wasn't ready to admit that she knew that was the truth.

"I'll take your word for it," she said with a smile as she sipped her wine. This was good. They had avoided the bigger picture here and made small talk about several different things other than a betrothal. It was unavoidable, but easily put off.

Harry continued to ignore his sake, preferring to drink it while he ate. He's learned the hard way when it came to drinking it without something in his stomach. He only wished the marriage issue could be ignored just as easily. He could already feel it starting to seep in on the edges of their conversation.

The two sat in silence for a couple minutes, before the waiter returned with their orders. They never seemed to take long once, which was always nice.

Sliding the plate of sushi closer to the middle of the table, he nodded toward it. "Seeings as you've never had it hear and I'm in a good mood, I'll share." he responded, with a small smirk as he picked up his chopsticks.
