OOC |-| Alright, this thread is pretty much open for the threads you'd like to create. Have fun and be creative. All I ask is that you keep all NC-17 posts until after. No shagging under the tables, on the bar, or in a broom closet. Also, I'd like most to stay at least until the small plot twist which will be posted later using this account. It will make things a bit more interesting in the game. Thanks!

The surroundings were absolutely gorgeous as people mingled in the ballroom located in the heart of the Ministry of Magic Headquarters. Jewels sparkled and all in attendence were dressed in their finest. From the CRWM's point of view it was a night of celebration, their attempts at creating a new and better Wizarding Community were well on their way and the future looked bright for all, both Muggleborn and Pureblood alike.

Despite the seriousness of the evening, Minister Kinglsey Shaklebolt was not in attendance. Instead, he had left a representative in his stead, who had taken a moment to address the crowd, speaking of the hope and a positive future. The message had various reactions throughout the crowd. Many were hopeful, but just as many were not impressed and it could be seen. The speech and formalities did not last for very long before the guests were left to themselves to mingle and have a good time. The music was started, the bar was opened, and waiters moved through the crowd carrying both drinks and orderves.

She looked toward the doors for a second and then back to him. She couldn't argue with the idea of fresh air being better than in here. The mix of perfume, sweat, and alcohol would start to get to you after a while.

The corner of her lips twitched into a small smile, or smirk, perhaps a mix of both. "How do you know I won't push you?" not that she would. If she wanted to hurt him, she'd just hit him. If she wanted to kill him, she wasn't stupid enough to try that here. Debating with herself for a moment, she eventually switched her drink to her other hand, then placed her hand in the offered one.

This was probably a stupid mistake, but hey, setting herself up for a potential snark-war would be more interesting then trying to remember the names of everyone she went to school with that kept talking to her, even if she had never been friends with them. Palmer was being nice so far, and that raised her suspicion. "So it's been a nearly a whole minute and there hasn't been one insult yet. Are you feeling well?"

"Did you think that's maybe what I'm hoping for?" He winked and his smile broadened. "A quick trip over the edge would put me out of my misery but you'd likely be paired again. Anyone you hate more than me? That'll likely be your next husband."

His fingers wrapped around hers lightly as he led them through the maze of bodies. It was intriguing that she could nearly meet him in the eyes. He'd purposely waited until they were alone before answering her question. "Is that what you want? To trade cruel words?" Montague dropped her hand and leaned back against the balustrade.

"Why is it that you should get to be put out of your misery, and I'd have to suffer through another bad match?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. Someone worse than Montague? She'd have to be with Flint, and thank god that wasn't possible. Angie shook her head, "If I was paired with anyone worse, it would be Flint, and I'd just hire someone to kill him off." she'd do it herself, but her Quidditch profession was at risk. If she went about it right, she could make sure no one linked her to the crime.

When her hand was dropped, she automatically crossed her arms over her stomach as she leaned back against the railing that closed in the outside, keeping people from falling anywhere. "Maybe I find it amusing." which she did, to a point, as long as it didn't get too personal. "Or maybe it's just what I was expecting."

Palmer snorted, wondering how many ways killing off Flint would be to his advantage. "Yeah, I suppose that could be a bit worse." He was curious and couldn't stop himself before he asked, "How many have you had now? What number am I?" He wasn't specifically asking how many chaps had been saved from marrying her but he wouldn't be surprised if that was how Johnson would take it.

"Aright, if you wish, I can oblige." He was more amused at this point that really wanting to trade fierce banter but he'd play along. "You go first."

She nodded slightly, her distaste for Flint clear on her face. "I feel bad for that poor girl who's stuck with him. I saw them in the paper, the man's a complete git." a public engagement, it was a cheap ploy for media attention. Angelina would have slapped him. "Just the second. The first guy was about five years younger, half a foot shorter and had hair out to here." she raised her hand a few inches from her head to indicate how extremely large he had worn his hair. "Topped off with more make up than what I would wear." Even if Angelina had said at first she was better off with her first match, at least Palmer's appearance was a better match for it, not that it counted for much, other than he was very nice to look at.

Cocking an eyebrow, she shook her head slightly. "Oh no, if you're in a non-fighting mood, I'm not going to ruin it." it would be amusing, but she'd rather not ruin what could be one of the only conversations they had that didn't start with them fighting. And hey, the night was still young, plenty of time for a throw down yet.

His stomach rolled at the thought of Saiorse with Marcus and he turned away before Angelina could see it on his face. It sickened him but there was nothing he could and she seemed willing enough to go along with Flint's media farce. Palmer wanted to be angry about that but he couldn't be angry with her. "I'm afraid I don't know anything about witch's cosmetics. I'll have to leave all that to you." A lopsided grin passed over his face briefly.

He shrugged. "I could fight if you want to fight. I've a long list of rules you'll obey as my wife. We could start with those." He smirked and then chuckled wondering where his good mood was coming from. It seemed to be improving since he walked into the ballroom.

"You have no idea how good that is to hear." after she had got the owl saying she single again, it was all she could do but pray not to have another match who owned more eyeliner than she did. It was just creepy. She didn't want to judge him, but she'd be lying if she said she didn't find a whole lot of make up and men slightly...unattractive. What she knew about make up, she had learned from the make-up artists who did her up for photo shoots, until then, Angie hadn't bothered to know much about it at all.

Her own smirk crept across her face. Half of her wondered if he was being serious. Purebloods did seem like the type. The other half didn't care, because she knew she'd just tell him to shove it if was actually serious. "I have a rather short list of rules for being my husband. Lets start with number one." she said, raising one finger one her right hand for a brief moment. "One, I don't follow your rules unless I find them reasonable, I agree to them, and you plan on following the same ones." there would be none of this 'women should be seen and not heard' or 'trophy wife' crap with her. That wasn't who she was.

The night swallowed the echo of his chuckle. "Now you're seeing the bright side to Palmer Montague." Palmer winked, thinking Johnson wasn't so bad when she didn't have her claws out.

"Oh? You have a list?" His tone held his completely humor at their discussion. He eyed her finger, leaning back on his elbows, tempted to reach out and give the digit a good tug. "I doubt what you find reasonable and what I find reasonable are the same thing." Palmer raised his brow, only looking down a bit to stare her in the eye. "And number two?"

When she didn't want to kill you, Angelina wasn't that bad. She had enough friends to show she wasn't that bad. She could actually be a very good friend, and nice if you didn't get on her bad side. "I didn't know you had one." she said, her shoulders rising and then falling in a shrug. "Nice to learn something new everyday." this was a side of Montague she could stand, at least for a short while.

"Yea, though I'm guessing it's shorter than yours." Angelina didn't have a lot of rules in life. Don't tell her what to do, and she'd watch herself so she didn't tell you what to do. Except she would tell you one thing, don't mess with her work, because she was in love with the game. "Maybe, maybe not. We'll find out." she was capable of reason at times. "Two." she said, raising a second finger again before tucking them both away on her arm. "Don't mess with my game." she figured it was obvious what 'her game' meant, most people knew she was a Quidditch Junkie.

Moving her arms, she placed her palms on the railing, wrapping her fingers around it. "Now one and two on your list is...?"

"Got it. Don't stand in the path of Quidditch. I can respect that. At least you're not trying to use my charm and good looks to further your career." He smirked.

Palmer turned his head toward her. "Do I score big points if I say one and two are 'Obey the wife' and 'Agree with whatever Angelina says'?" He really wasn't trying to court favor with her but it would be easier if they got along. This night was proving that there were too many not willing to 'buck' the system. Palmer wasn't about to be made an example of.

"I make my own career, thank you. I certainly don't need your 'charm.' And so far my looks have been serving me just fine." she wasn't like Flint. While Angelina enjoyed good publicity when she needed it, she wasn't about to drag someone else into the spotlight with her. "I don't use others to get more attention to my name." she said, slightly on the dark side. It was nothing toward him, it was toward others who just made a bad name for people who got their picture taken often.

"Nope." she said, arching an eyebrow. "Let's face it, you, do whatever I say? That's hilarious." and boring. While she didn't want to be stuck with a prick, she wanted a husband with a spine. Angelina knew she often acted before thinking. Someone who could put her in her place would be good for her, as long as they weren't asses about it. "It means, if you try and be civil to me, then I'll try and be civil to you."

She brushed a few strands of hair that had fallen into her face over to the side, before looking up at him to meet hs eyes. "You didn't answer my question. What's number one and two on your list?"

"That would be boring, if we both agreed." Palmer could rest assured that would never happen. He was starting to concede that this might actually work though. If they could stay out of each other's way.

The wind ruffled her hair again and he brought his fingers to her face, brushing the locks back again. The second he touched her, he dropped his hand and spoke the truth. "I was taking the mickey with you about rules. I really don't care. I'm obviously not the man you imagine me to be." Palmer shrugged. "And that goes both ways, I suppose. I'm not going to let you make my life hell but we could try to get along."

"True, but what are the chances of it actually happening? I said try. Besides, a little fighting is healthy." or a lot, but what else was she expecting? She'd try not to step on his toes...too much, and with any luck he'd to the same, and perhaps any disagreements wouldn't end with something being blown up.

She froze for a second when his hand came near her face. She wasn't expecting anything to happen, but the gesture had taken her off guard. When his hand dropped, she relaxed just a little, and pulled her attention back to their conversation. "I don't know what kind of man you are." she said with a shrug. "The only thing I'm going on is the games we played against each other in school." and those games had always been filled with fouls, and since Angelina was a Chaser, a lot of them had been against her, Katie and Alicia. Most of the Quidditch scars she had were from school, and the majority of them collected from Slytherin. It wasn't much to go on when trying to figure someone out. "I've got better things to do than try and make you suffer, you know." though she would make his life hell if he did the same to her. She only dished out what someone deserved...usually. "I can try, really hard, to be nice." Angelina wasn't a charming girl, she didn't ry to sweet talk people, either she liked you, or she didn't, and usually you knew which category you were in.

"I was a boy then. Out to prove something. Now I'm out to prove other things, I guess." Part of him wanted to tell her to sod off and they best stay at odds, but he'd only be making himself miserable.

"Alright then. I suppose the next steps are figuring out the wedding and where we're going to live. My flat definitely won't work." Even with his family money and the manor at Ivychurch, Palmer had taken a little flat in Diagon. He was rarely there anyway so it didn't matter much, but he doubted it was up to Angelina's standards and on top of that, it hand only one bedroom.

A boy out to prove something. It sounded like a line right out of a bad movie. She wasn't even going to touch that. Just let it go. Another shrug of her shoulders and that was the end of that.

"Neither will mine." it was in Ireland, and it was only one bedroom. She didn't know where he wanted to live, but it needed to rooms, which meant they had to go house hunting. "Guess that means we have to find a new place." she didn't mind that much. It wasn't the greatest news, she had only just got her flat the way she liked it. But it was just a place to live, not that big of a deal. "Uh...you're not allergic to cats, are you?" she asked, sounding hopeful. She had a kitten, and had no intentions of separating herself from her anytime soon. The kitty was there to stay.

"Fine, we can fit looking for one around your match schedule." Palmer knew he'd be the one to have to give in where timing was concerned. As long as she didn't expect him to sit in the stands and root for her. He was a Falcons fan to the bitter end.

"A cat?" His expression clearly showed his lack of interest. "Just keep it away from me and we'll get along fine."

"That would be good. I've got a few days after Mondays match, if you have the time." she was going to try and not be a complete pain in the ass about all of this. "Is there anywhere you'd rather live?" she would rather stay in Ireland, but that could be debated if needed.

A small smile tugged on the corner of her lips. "A kitten, her names Nocturne, and don't worry, I doubt she'll go near you." she tended to stick next to Angie when she was home, and slept all day when she wasn't. A very good cat.

Looking inside, Angie watched the crowed for a moment, before turning back to Palmer. "How about that dance now?"

"Any time next week will be fine. I'll work around it." If he could have had his choice, he would have said London or even moving back to Kent, but it didn't matter. Everywhere was within apparating distance these days. "What sounds good to you? I work a lot, I don't spend a lot of time at home, so I'll eave the where up to you."

He didn't answer her with a yeah or a nay, he merely offered Angelina his arm as he straightened the front of his robes, waiting to lead her back inside to the dance floor.

"Sure." she'd just owl him or something later when she got her practice times. Then he could tell her what times worked for him. "Well, I moved to Ireland to be closer to the team." she'd rather be there, but this would be one hell of an argument. What country to live in, oi. "I'd prefer there, but I can move back to England. I'm not home much either." it was mostly a place to sleep, and to escape if she ever got in one of those moods.

As wordless as his response, she took his offered arm and pushed herself off the railing. Angie wasn't a bad dancer at all, she'd had to do enough of it in her time to hold her own. This wouldn't be so bad.

"If you're sure." she said, though she was pleased about that. A two bedroom would be lovely, unless they were looking to but a house. She figured she'd get one eventually, but there had been no point when it was just her. But with neither of them being home often, a house was probably pointless.

Pushing any feelings of unease about being to close to him aside, she moved her arms around him and stepped in close. She'd never taken dance lessons, she'd just learned as she went, and had a bit of a natural grace to her. "Yes, as a matter of fact. Alicia and George are the loves of my life. If Katie was here, I'd be set." she said with a smirk, purposely leaving him out. She doubted he liked her friends anymore than she liked his. Especially after that incident between him and the twins at school. It still made her snicker.
