OOC |-| Alright, this thread is pretty much open for the threads you'd like to create. Have fun and be creative. All I ask is that you keep all NC-17 posts until after. No shagging under the tables, on the bar, or in a broom closet. Also, I'd like most to stay at least until the small plot twist which will be posted later using this account. It will make things a bit more interesting in the game. Thanks!

The surroundings were absolutely gorgeous as people mingled in the ballroom located in the heart of the Ministry of Magic Headquarters. Jewels sparkled and all in attendence were dressed in their finest. From the CRWM's point of view it was a night of celebration, their attempts at creating a new and better Wizarding Community were well on their way and the future looked bright for all, both Muggleborn and Pureblood alike.

Despite the seriousness of the evening, Minister Kinglsey Shaklebolt was not in attendance. Instead, he had left a representative in his stead, who had taken a moment to address the crowd, speaking of the hope and a positive future. The message had various reactions throughout the crowd. Many were hopeful, but just as many were not impressed and it could be seen. The speech and formalities did not last for very long before the guests were left to themselves to mingle and have a good time. The music was started, the bar was opened, and waiters moved through the crowd carrying both drinks and orderves.

Millicent arrived early and very much alone, having not bothered to talk to her soon to be husband on time of arrival. She figured if he showed up, he'll show up on his own time and not hers. Millicent gripped her black clutch in her hands, red lips frowning a bit in nervousness and bit back the mild nauseous feeling as she slowly made her entrance.

It had taken her longer to get ready then she had ever expected to invest in her personal appearance. The hair potion set her hair in a dark well groomed wave, framing her very made up face. She was wearing her little red dress and walking carefully on short heels that still made her feel big and clumsy. She almost didn't look like herself all done up, nor did she really feel like herself. More like a little kid who was playing in her mum's jewelry box and closet.

Millicent made a bee line for the bar as the safest place for her to somewhat hide. She stood facing the bar, back to the ballroom of people and ordered herself a drink.

Despite his soon-to-be wife's expectations of him, Adrian had actually managed an early arrival for the specific occasion. Not on his own though, of course; being employed with the Ministry herself, his half-sister's Head of Department had made the suggestion that she arrive before the other guests, under the assumption that the event might run more smoothly with the assistance of more Ministry personnel. And so she'd forced him into getting ready early so that he could play as a temporary escort, one she'd leave as soon as they made their entrance together.

Leaving Adrian to wander a bit aimlessly before he'd find himself at the bar, alone-- with the exception of the gentleman behind the bar, of course.

And it'd be another twenty minutes before anyone else joined him. He'd only caught a flash of red in his peripheral as someone took up a seat a little farther down from his own, and then turned his head so that he might put a name to the face.

Not that he could see her face, mind you, and Millicent was entirely unrecognisable from the back.

He didn't want to make an awkward introduction of himself and so he kept quiet, waiting for her to turn her head just so that he might could identify whoever he was sharing the bar with.

Though he seemed to be at a bit of a loss for words when she finally did.

"... Fucking clean up nicely, don't we?" he said a bit incredulously, the corners of his lips quirking into a genuine smile (well-- half-smile, anyway) as he was finally able to fully take in Millicent's appearance.

The dress hadn't made her smaller; she was still a thick girl. But the color and fit complimented her well, even if Adrian wasn't exactly willing to admit that outloud. And she'd actually done something classy with her hair, as well as sport makeup. It was simple, but still enough to make her stand out, he thought.

Millicent nearly knocked over her glass when Adrian spoke up. She turned to look over at him -- a blush rising to her pale cheeks at the compliment, which was mildly horrifying. Tucking a lock of hair behind her ear as she said, "Ah..yeah. Guess so, huh? Bit silly looking all dressed up though."

She turned to take a sip of her drink before she continued, "I didn't expect you to come here so early, Pucey."

"Hardly," he said leaning in slightly to correct her, "not if you take a look at some of the other poor sods here. By the way, your little boyfriend looks like a fucking jackass tonight, not that I'm surprised," he finished, pulling away to down what was left of his own drink. It was likely the closest he'd come to ever complimenting her, albeit indirectly.

"I didn't want to show at all, especially not so fucking early. But Opal--" he paused and gestured with a tilt of his head to his half-sister, who was still at the entrance and greeting guests as they came in, "had to be here early, and so she dragged me along with her. Says she wants to fucking meet you before the night's over, but don't feel obligated."

"Shouldn't blame some of 'em for how they look. Some of that shit is just genetic," Millicent said with a little grin, pointing at herself. Draining her drink in a big gulp, she set down the now empty glass and gestured to the bartender for a refill. Millicent accepted the indirect compliment with her usual noncommittal manner as she said, "You don't look to bad yourself in comparison either. Looks like we can both clean up when we have to."

Millicent followed Adrian's gesture towards Opal. At least now she could put a name to a face for one of her bridesmaids. As she scanned the room, she caught Marcus' eye as he was talking to a ridiculously young looking redhead. Millicent turned to look at Adrian and said, "Should at least introduce myself anyway. She is standing up in the wedding after all and it'd be even more fucking awkward if I didn't."

"And everyone says that I undervalue you," he said with a hint of a smirk, idly trailing his fingers around the rim of his nearly empty glass. He looked away from Millicent for a moment, giving the ballroom a once over as he searched for Daphne. She wasn't too far away from the bar, and on Potter's arm, as he'd expected. His brows furrowed together and he narrowed his eyes at the couple, very briefly, not wanting anyone to call any attention to it.

(Because he wasn't jealous, no no no. As it was well established, Daphne was a friend only.)

"Feels like the fucking Yule Ball all over again," he said with a roll of his eyes, both at the memory and at the brief sighting of the "happy" couple. "After you sent the money, I really had no fucking clue what to buy. Had to drag her along with me," he said, pointing to Opal again, "and even then she wasn't so fucking helpful-- said they didn't tailor outfits to fit the awkwardly skinny, or dress robes for that matter. And just to forewarn you: she's really fucking chatty, and pretty much takes to anyone she meets. Which isn't always for the best," he said, lifting his glass to his lips again.

"I bet you could find someone really to tailor your outfits, mate. You're not that skinny that it'd be that much of a problem, but anyway you do look all right," said Millicent as she took another sip of her new drink. She glanced back across the ballroom, catching Marcus heading for the doors walking right by Adrian's half sister. She wanted to catch him because he appeared to be in a hurry to leave.

That wasn't quite fair, he promised her a dance after all. Millicent hid her frown in her glass as she listened to Adrian talk. Gently putting down her drink, she glanced back at the doors and sighed, "Hey. I guess I should go introduce myself to her anyway. Better now then later, right?"

As she stood, she brushed her skirt straight before she continued with a slight awkward pause, "Look...later on, if you're not about with anybody. Maybe we could dance, I guess? I'd...um. I'd like if we did."

Millicent didn't stay to hear Adrian's reply, heading toward the doors and slipping by Opal to try to follow where Marcus was going.
