Emma was tied in knots. It wouldn't be that far off of the mark to say that some of those knots were quite literal. Standing in front of the large vanity mirror in her bedroom, she prepared herself to meet the man she was supposed to marry. A phrase that in no way inspired the confidence it should. She had been sitting in front of the large mirror for thirty minutes, barely moving an inch other to uncharacteristically fidget every so often. Twisting, her rather expensive, thoughts between her fingers Emma continued to stare at her reflection unseeing, and in wide-eyed disbelief.

She was going to have to marry a Weasley

She was going to have to marry a WEASLEY!

She ... Marry a Weasley she was going to have to do.

Frowning slightly, she hesitantly lowered her eyes from the glass surface and down to the certificate sitting tauntingly and smugly (oh, Emma was most certain that if the thing had a tongue that it would, "Nyeh!" her) on her bureau. Yep. The name was still there. George Bartholomew Weasley.

Those knots were coming loose and Emma felt sick. No matter how she may have joked about running away to her friends and to her mother, there was no option other than to go through with it. Weasley, for all the horrible things her grandfather had to say about the family and all the not-so-nice-things he'd done in school, wanted this as much as she did. Not at all. There was something innate in Emma that wouldn't allow someone to be punished for her actions. That something was far more stronger than the other something inside of Emma that respected her family and hated causing them distress.

Which was the reason why Emma was tied in various versions of 'the knots'. She'd patiently sat through many-a ranting of about how she wasn't going to, couldn't go through this wedding to a Weasley. After those many rantings, Emma had just as patiently and calmly and logically, but most definitely firmly, explained the reasons why she had to go through it. First and formoste, she wouldn't do that to Weasley. Second there were others stuck in far worse predicaments than she was and had managed to swallow their prides and gone through with the marriage. If they could do it, then why couldn't she? In which she reminded her grandfather about how Aubrey's couldn't be bested by anyone-or so he had always said-and that it was imperiant (is that the word?) that she go through with it. Lastly she'd reminded him that if had been okay to follow the rules of the Carrows then certainly it was better to follow the rules of the Minister who'd fought so valiantly in the war ...

Emma had to admit even to herself the last bit about the Minister had been a tad much, however, she knew he'd have been proud of her sound argument if he wasn't so incensed about the fact that

She had to marry a Weasley

Letting out a low breath from deep within her chest, Emma finally pulled away from the mirror. No point in prolonging the inevitable. She'd made up her mind and she was sticking to her decision. At least this time.

Casting a charm to sort out the wrinkles she'd created in her anxiousness. She apparated in front of Weasley's store.
