WHO: Harry and Daphne
WHEN: June 24th, 2002 - 8pm
WHERE: Daphne's and Beyond
WHAT: Husband and Wife stuff ... not THAT! ... jeeze get your minds out of the gutter
RATING: PG
STATUS: Closed / Complete

Well, he did have to admit that he was glad that Daphne had actually come back to England instead of going to France. It would have made tonight a little more difficult had she actually followed through on her words. After his run in with Eleanor, he'd headed home. That had been quite the encounter and he personally wasn't mentally up to another meeting. His arm hurt and he needed a shower...which was rather interesting seeing as his left arm was completely wrapped up. It had taken twice as long to shower having to remove the bandage and then ultimately rewrap the arm. He'd been tempted to just leave it but it was starting to heal and he didn't want it to get infected, not to mention that it didn't look very good. In a sense it had been his own fault, but he still had that annoyed anger at the fool who had decided that pronunciation wasn't an aspect of spell casting.

Having eventually managed to shower and change, he'd slid his shoes on and headed out the door. He wouldn't need a jacket, it had been rather warm all day and he wasn't expecting it to exactly cool off once the sun went down. He certainly had mixed feelings about their meeting tonight. On one side, he felt like a total arse. Ron had said it before and he'd probably say it again. Harry was far too easily offended. Harry knew that and most of the people he knew were aware of it...Daphne on the other hand...well, she'd just been thrown into the equation. He'd come to the conclusion that it was George's fault for opening his mouth and he should therefore not be mad at Daphne...of course, this had come about after he'd gone off on her. Then there was the other side of the argument .... well, there really wasn't another side, not unless you counted the fact that he didn't want to have to apologize for being an arse twice in less then a week...but again, that wasn't her fault either.

Eventually reaching Daphne's apartment, climbed the stairs and knocked on the door, waiting patiently outside rather then opening the door on his own. The might have been married, but this was still her apartment.

"I don't think I'm going anywhere just yet," she said with a grin, kissing him softly again. Her hold on him loosened, though she still stayed close. Yes, they'd be seeing each other again and she had no problems getting up early in the morning, regardless of how late she was up. In fact, she had the slight hint that she'd be sleeping very well tonight, whether it was on Harry's couch or in her own bed. Something just told her her mind would be settled.

"I've made my decision. Don't make me regret it," she joked, brushing some hair out of her eyes. She wouldn't over stay her welcome at all, but Daphne decided to spend just a little more time with him. Plus, since they'd be moving in with each other, this was the kind of time they needed together, not that out on the town shite.

"I wouldn't dream of it." Harry grinned, returning the kiss. It certainly wasn't a response he was going to argue. They would be spending a lot of time together in the near future, so he didn't see the problem with starting in on it a bit early.

He was quite content to remain as they were, at least for a bit longer. There were lots of things that they didn't really know about each other, in his mind he figured being comfortable being close to each other was one less thing they had to deal with.

"While your still here you should tell me what your favourite colour is." he instructed with a smile, leaning his head back against the couch and watching her. "I figure I might need to know that at some point."

Daphne smirked as he returned the kiss and settled back onto the couch. She felt as if they were a couple that were just starting to get serious, or at least just starting to date. Which, as odd as that sounded, it was basically true. They hadn't been together more than a week and they were married. She had always read that marriages that are so sudden don't quite work out, but she had the funny feeling they might work out for the best.

"Favourite color, hm?" She slumped slightly, thinking hard about it. "Probably yellow or green," she gave a shrug. Daphne had never really thought of what her favorite color would be. She grew up in a home where things were always dark, thick, bold colors and while she liked those, she didn't mind the lighter greens and yellows either. "What's your favorite color?"

"Yellow or green, huh?" Harry smiled, thinking on his own favourite colour. It really wasn't that difficult if one took a look at his wardrobe. "As much as I enjoyed being surrounded by red for seven years, I much prefer blue."

He figured the small steps at getting to know each other were probably the best way of going about there current relationship. No matter how comfortable they were becoming together, there were still holes in what they were building.

"Alright, so favourite colour can be checked off the list of things I need to know." He chuckled. "When's your birthday?"

"Blue can be okay," she said with a wry smile. "But only sometimes." Daphne actually wore a lot of blue and a lot of neutral colors. "I rather don't care for green as much as I used to. House colors are over rated," she said with a laugh.

There were a lot of little things about Daphne that Harry would find out eventually. This was a good way to get to said things. "December 21. Yours?" Daphne loved having her birthday close to Christmas like that. Mostly because she was greedy and loved getting double the presents and she always got double the gifts. Even if there were people saying one shouldn't get double the stuff if their birthday was around Christmas.

"I suppose it depends on the shade of green." he offered, with a shrug. He for one hated the particular shade of the Slytherin crest, but didn't mind the softer shades of green. Granted, he couldn't exactly say he his relationship with a many of the Slytherins was that great.

"I've still got lots of time then." he smiled. He didn't know the first thing when it came to buying Christmas or birthday gifts for the opposite sex...there was Hermione, but books weren't exactly what everyone wanted. "You on the other hand, don't have nearly as much time. July 31st. You also don't know how nice it is to have someone not know that little piece of information."

"Slytherin green doesn't look so great on me," she said teasingly, laughing a bit. She didn't mind it all that much, really, but she also looked very washed out in silver and green. Daphne liked wearing colors, that's about it.

July! She really wasn't expecting his birthday to be that soon. "You should expect something big, then." Daphne grinned and looked at him. She liked going all out for gifts when it came down to special people. By the time his birthday rolled around, she figured he'd be pretty special to her. More so than now. "Really? Why?"

Harry grinned. "Why should I expect something big?" he asked curiously. His birthday had never really been a big deal for him, so he never really worried about it. "Something big isn't necessary."

Despite the attention he got, Harry had never really gotten used to it and he could safely say that he really didn't want it. It was part of the reason that he wanted a quiet life...though, he supposed that being an Auror didn't exactly help.

"It's weird, you know? Having a stranger know more about you then you do yourself." he shrugged. "It's just awkward, I suppose. It's nice not to be known."

"Because I like doing things for people I care about," she said softly, offering a small smile. She couldn't see the harm in that, so he shouldn't either. She wouldn't make a huge deal out of it, but still, she definitely wanted to do something for him. Even if it involved just the two of them and a small dinner. It didn't matter to her. "It's necessary."

He had a good point when he said it was weird having a stranger know more than him than he did. "Well, we can put a stop to that," she said with a shrug. They could just live in solemnity and stay far away from people who'd brag or open their mouths at inappropriate times. Plus, Daphne much rather stay in her own quiet little life, even if her husband was a hero throughout the wizarding world.

Harry grinned. Was that admitting she cared? If it was that was certainly nice to know, particularly because it would be genuine and had nothing to do with who he was. That had been the one good thing about dating Muggles. He was just another guy.

He couldn't help but kiss her for that. It meant quite a bit. When he pulled back, he offered a slightly doubtful look. "That's easier said then done." he responded, sitting back but remaining close to her. "Believe me, I know."

She smiled and took his hand, just as before. She did care, she'd show it in time, but still, taking things slow were nice. Plus, it was just easier. As he kissed her, Daphne returned the kiss, the hand that held his moving up to rest on his face. "It'll be done. I promise." How she'd do things like that, she wasn't sure, but Daphne had a way of getting certain things done and she'd prove that to him.
