WHO: Asteria Davies, Roger Davies, Friends and Family.
WHEN: Sunday June 22nd, 2002
WHERE: Greengrass family home
WHAT: The Wedding
RATING: E for Everyone
STATUS: Open // In Progress

After witnessing Daphne's absolutely gorgeous wedding the previous day, Asteria couldn't have asked for more when it came to her own. Her family, despite already working so hard to make Daphne's a success the day before, helped her create her own perfect wedding and she had to admit, it came pretty close to the fairy tale wedding she'd wanted. There had been a couple times during the ceremony where she had to fight back a wave of panic, but given the small size of the wedding and the fact that the majority of the people there were people she knew, it hadn't been as bad as she expected, though she was almost positive she'd turned a shade of red, a shade to rival the wine trimming on her dress, when Roger had kissed her.

The dress choice had been a bit of a surprise. She had been fully intending to go the traditional, all white route, but she'd stumbled upon her choice in one of the last shops her and Daphne had visited. By that point Daphne had found her perfect dress and she was feeling a bit disappointed. She hadn't thought of adding a splash of colour, but fell in love with the idea when she saw it. Thankfully, her mother had been an absolutely saint about changing the colours for the wedding. It simply wouldn't do if she didn't match.

Once the ceremony had been completed and the wedding photo's taken, the wedding party and guests moved into the Ballroom to mingle and relax. She still had to mingle and thank the guests, but Roger would be with her so together they could handle those individuals she didn't know. Once that was completed the hard part of the day would be over and she would be able to breathe a little easier.

Mikael sighed with relief when he could finally escape to the Ballroom and hide from his mother and sister. Both of them seemed to have turned into crazy wedding monsters. The whole ceremony they had "Ah"d and "Oh"d and afterwards they had pointed out to him all the things they liked about this wedding and how he could do this and that at his own. Not to mention that his sisters stupid husband had really thought that Mikael would be interested in talking with him and had tried to strike up a conversation more than one time.

So the first change of escape found Mikael at the bar, sipping a martini and watching the other people in the room.

After a couple of hours of being in the limelight, Asteria was quite ready to crawl back into her quiet corner. She'd never been so jittery in all her life. She'd been standing with Roger when her eyes had fallen on her friend sitting at the bar. It had only taken her a moment to excuse herself from her husband with a promise that she'd be back shortly.

Heading in a beeline to the bar, she reached Mikael. His drink was halfway to his lips when she took it and finished it off herself. A bit rude, but she'd needed that and she was sure Mikael wouldn't care. Once she was done, she set the glass on the counter and leaned against him for a bit of support.

"I just want people to stop pestering Roger and I. I don't want to greet anymore people. I don't want to be in the spotlight." she pouted, knowing there wasn't a thing she, Roger, or Mikael could do.

Mikael smirked when his drink was taken from him. No one but Asteria would do that (well, probably his mother would if she found him, but he sincerly hoped that this was not the case)

"If this isn't the woman of the hour," He smiled, wrapping an arm around Asteria's waist. "You're looking gorgeous as always, princess."

Waving to the bartender to bring them two more drinks he scanned the crowd again, making sure his family was far far away.

"Let's run away together? I've been trying to hide from my crazy family ever since the ceremony. Or I can walk around with you and yell at everyone who wants to talk with you. I've had enough alcohol to do just that."

Asteria sighed lightly, eventually pulling back. She figured it wouldn't do to have everyone think she was hanging all over a man who wasn't her husband ... even though she wasn't hanging all over him and it was just Mikael. They'd been like that forever. "Woman of the hour indeed, I keep having strange people come up to me and hugging me and shaking my hand. I swear my very nerve endings are shaking."

It was all part and parcel with the wedding though, so she really couldn't complain. Roger was really sweet and he wouldn't hurt her so she really was one of the lucky ones in these arranged marriages. "I can't run away with you, Mikael, I've already married Roger and I'm slowly getting used to the idea of being a wife. It would be cruel for me to leave now."
