Who: Parvati Patil and Mikael Harper
What: Ring Shopping
Where: Dulce Fleur then the Jewelry store
When: Saturday June 21, 2002 – 8 pm
Rating: E
Status: Closed/Complete

“Rings, rings, beautiful rings.” Parvati had been in an odd mood all day. She had slept decently for the first time in a while, though half of the reason she was acting odd was just because of that. For what seemed like the sixteenth time that day her partner shot her an odd look. “Oh leave me alone, you know how I love jewelry.”

Parvati finished putting away the lace and made sure all the other employees were gone for the night. Her partner Sara would be the last leaving since she had to do the accounting. Parvati was lucky enough only to have to tuck away the orders they were working throughout the day.

She was under a table when she heard the door open, causing her to jerk up and hit her head. “Ouch. Sara, let me know if you see a stuck up blonde man.”

Parvati returned his sweet smile, humming happily. "Try your worst, darling." She said it, hoping to annoy him like he was annoying her. "I'll just hide from the owls. I have a wonderful charm at work to keep them from coming near. So what type of ring are you thinking of?"

"Always, lovey," Mikael replied with a mischievously grin. "Fine, I'll just have to send the owls to your parents then. Or no, that'd probably scare them, but I can send it the muggle way," He added as an afterthought.

"Not sure yet. I'd like something simple for me and maybe something with a diamond for you? Guess we'll have to see what they have. Do you have anything special in mind already?"

"Go ahead, try the muggle way. Sending an expensive thing like that will make sure I never receive it. You know how things go missing in the mail all the time."

Parvati tried not to smile too much at the thought of diamonds. No, best not to do that. She should get something simple as well. "Maybe just a platinum band." She forced herself to shrug.

"I know how muggle mail works, so obviously I'd make sure that it arrives safely. There's no way out of this, princess, you'll have to accept it," Mikael grinned, opening the door of the store for her.

"Oh come on. A platinum band is nice for me, but not for you. You need something sparkly."

"I'm not accepting it so you may as well just return it while we're here, darling." Parvati made a small 'hmph' and walked past him. Automatically she was drawn to the most sparkly rings. "I don't need anything sparkly."

"I am NOT returning it." Mikael pouted as he followed her in. "But you'd love to have something sparkly and I want you to have what'll make you happy. So take something sparkly that'll make you happy and I'll be happy too."

Parvati gave the man behind the case a look as if to say see what I put up with. She then looked back down to ogle a platinum ring with a diamond heart. It was gorgeous. "Return it, Miki. I refuse to accept the necklace."

Mikael suppressed a nervous twitch as she called him Miki. The Hufflepuff who had once dared to call him Mike back in fifth year had still not made a full recovery.

"You will accept it, Parvi," He replied with an innocent smile, following her gaze to the ring. "That one looks really nice." He commented.

Parvi? She smirked, resisting the urge to hit him. She did owe him for saying she had used him as a pillow, after all. "I suppose it looks okay, Miki darling."

Parvati forced herself to looking away from it. She barely heard the man say it went with the necklace Mikael had bought. Well that meant it was a nice. "Go find your own ring, Miki."

"You love it already, don't you?" Mikael winked, watching her with a smile.

"No way, first we are going to find the perfect ring for you, Parvi darling. I'd be really really happy if you'd for once stop being stubborn and just take what you like. The ring you looked at goes with the necklace, so there we are that would be nice."

"I do not." She would not look at it. She refused to. "No reason to get the ring when I know how expensive it is and we're not keeping the necklace. Now pick your own ring out and I'll pick one for myself."

"What does it matter if it is expensive? I can afford it and I want to buy it for you," Mikael sighed, resisting the urge to poke her. Looking at the man behind the counter who was grinning at them Mikael sighed once again. "You see that? Not even married and I am already her slave."

"You're the one making yourself my slave. If you were my slave you would do what you're told." She crossed her arms, giving the man her sweetest smile. "Will you please help my darling Miki find his own bloody ring while I look at the others? He is driving me mad and I am sure you would not like to have to clean him off your floor."

"Seems like you have to train me a bit more," Mikael grinned, leaning against the counter.

"The necklace I bought here yesterday would really really suit her, don't you think? Goes well with her eyes," He said to the guy, who was obviously trying hard not to laugh. "But she won't take it and I don't know why. I think I'll cry myself to sleep tonight."

"Amazing. I'm not even married and I'll be a widow." Men. They were always in it together. She smiled, walking over to Mikael and kicking his ankle softly.

"Keep it up and I'll tell my mother you're not capable of having children. Then you'll really hear her mouth."

"Keep it up and I'll tell your mother that you are too stubborn to accept gifts from your fiancé, who has a very well paid job and is quite capable of having children," Mikael replied sweetly.

"That's low." Knowing her mother, Parvati would be stuck with that necklace forever if he so much as mentioned it to her. "Fine. I like that ring. I hope it hurts your bank account." She glared at him, crossing her arms.

"Whatever it takes to stop you refusing my gifts," Mikael replied. "I'll just pretend that it hurts my bank account horribly if that helps you." Winking at the man he asked him to take out the ring and see if it fit Parvati.

"It doesn't help. At all." Parvati stuck out her tongue when he turned away. "Git." Though she really was smiling as she tried the ring on. Unfortunately the band was just a little loose on her, but it did look gorgeous. It'd be even better with a wedding band underneath it.

Mikael just shrugged and smiled as he watched her. Definitely better than getting a ring she didn't like.

"Make sure that it fits properly, will you?" He winked at the man behind the counter.

Parvati shot him a glare, completely ruined by the smile. "I hate you, Miki." She was hesitant to part with the ring, but the guy did say he needed to find her proper size. It was a tiffany, she knew it. She walked around, looking at the other tiffany jewelry. "Find anything you like yet?"

"No, help me pick out something?"

"You're a git too. Don't forget that." She frowned, moving to look at the men's collection. They were all so rich. She desperately hoped he would feel bad for spending so much money. However, she just HAD to pick out a good one for him as well. "You're perfectly capable of picking out your own ring."

"How can I forget that? You remind me of it every five minutes."

Looking at the rings Mikael sighed.

"I don't know, I am bad at picking out things for myself. I can never decide."

"I'll happily remind you every day of your life." Parvati smirked, looking over the glass case. He was such a drama king. "It's not that hard. Not much of a selection anyways. Do you like designs, gems, or something just plain?"
