She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that's best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes:
Thus mellowed to that tender light

One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impaired the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress,
Or softly lightens o'er her face;
Where thoughts serenely sweet express,
How pure, how dear their dwelling-place.

And on that cheek, and o'er that brow,
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow,
But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all below,
A heart whose love is innocent!

I've never seen her at work but I've seen the results. Clean, neat.

The only reason I'm in London is because of mini-Mordhaus and my masters being here. Otherwise I'd probably still be in Chicago dealing with... stuff. It was a huge coincidence that I'm here and even know who you are. I find the whole thing weird too.

I've been hearing quite a lot about your employers, and I even went so far as to listen to their music. I'm not sure their music sits well with me, though their lyrics are delightfully sinister. I suppose my tastes are just not up to date as they could be.

And as an aside, I had a discussion the other day with Petit's beau. He spoke to me of your job and he seemed to be disgusted by the fact that you are basically a servant.
Servitude in any regard takes a lot of personal strength. I cannot see why so many people look down upon it as frittering away at human rights. After all, are you not well looked after? Do you not have personal liberties that give you freedom you desire? Indentured servitude is no slave trade, to be sure, and I believe it to be a great benefit to all parties involved. Without servants, many great people would never had risen to the level of power that they had achieved. Look if you will, to the man who wrote the poem in my original post. Lord Byron had servants, and without them, he wouldn't have likely been able to function nearly as smoothly. He'd have to waste time and effort in getting the daily minutia of life done first before writing and looking after his duties as Lord. As it was, his most affecting poem, Don Juan, was never finished. It would have likely never been written had he not had his servants looking after his cooking, cleaning, and welfare.

Digression aside, I can honestly say I appreciate the work that you do. Hopefully your masters do as well.

Artan? I think he was just pissed that he was one of us, in another reality.

It's not like servitude back in your day where people were born into it. I had a job that made good money before Dethklok. I chose this instead. I guess people don't understand that part. The first show of theirs I saw I realized that being a gear in the wheel was what I wanted for the rest of my hopefully short life, dropped everything and signed up. I am well looked-after. And paid well, I'm not a slave. I have more freedom than I need, and I don't care about living anywhere fancy. Back where I'm from, I could do what I needed to without consequence. I'm not a normal person, I couldn't have a normal life if I'd tried.

Nothing else in my life has been more satisfying than service to Dethklok, and that's saying a lot. Anything that I can possibly do to make their lives easier I do gladly. If I have to die for that to happen, so be it. And if there are people who look down on me because of it, they can go fuck themselves.

Thank you.

And that is why I say it takes strength. Living a normal life is beyond my means as well, but to find a niche into which you fit, that's the main and most pressing concern. You've certainly found yours, and I'm still working my way into mine.

Ah yes, living without consequence. I could only imagine that makes you feel so much better.

Used to. Since the vortex and getting dropped off here it's been difficult. Consequence applies here, everything I do has to be cautious. I never had to go without, it got to me. But I've found a way to deal.

I've also found that I have to err on the side of caution in my own work. For a society so desiring to be humanitarian, they've certainly put a lot of work into limiting our freedoms.

At least you've found a way to cope.

As much as I want to, I can't blame them. It's that survival instinct. They can't help themselves. They'll lock themselves in little boxes if it means they can lock everyone else in the same.

I could tell you how I cope, might help you, but you might not like it either.

We're getting dreadfully close to being far too blunt about our dealings, dove.

We should perhaps talk about this in a more discreet setting. I would love to hear about it, however.

I agree with you. Like I said, I'm not used to this.

Where do you wanna go?

I am slightly more apt at it than I'm sure you must be.

I suggest, if you're up for irony, that we meet up at the Old Bailey. A courthouse which was where my dear friend Judge Turpin made his rulings. And also where my own first fate was delivered to me.

Courthouse, huh? Alright, why the hell not? I'll meet you up there.
