So, I have discovered something that makes this whole crazy London and this whole strange world worth staying in.

I have discovered chocolate wine.

Chocolate orange wine, really, and it's more of an alcoholic chocolate syrup than anything, but it's fantastic with a bit of soda water, or even better, over ice cream.

And ice cream is something else I've just discovered! I suppose I can stay here for a while longer at least.

Goodness. Little did I know the business of baking was so brimming with drama. This world must seem positively dull by comparison...

Well, it was at the time, it's rather revolutionary how it works now.

I mean, we don't even bake the pies to sell them! They're frozen and sent out to regular shopping markets and people buy them there to bake at home!

...well I wouldn't know anything about that. I've lived on mostly canned soup and pancakes for two years, with occasional meals provided by friendly folks when the weather got bad.

I do like pie, though.

...

I don't suppose you'd like to come over for dinner?

Darling, that'd be a blessing unequalled.

Well it's certainly better than cats and toast.

Or canned soup and pancakes anyway.

I'm at [address], fourth floor.

Cats and...?

Maybe I don't want to know.

I'd take anything hot off a real table. Even if it IS canned soup and pancakes.

When do you want me?

Shouldn't take more than a half hour or so before it's finished, so whenever you'd like.
