Something I've discovered recently: Needlepoint is far far easier now than it was in my time. It's so simple, in fact, that it almost feels like cheating. Everything's already counted and sorted and color-coded, and I would imagine that crochet and knitting are much the same, though I haven't looked into those yet to keep myself busy.

It's strange, sometimes, that for the numbers of things that are made easier in this time that it includes things that were already quite simple.

Oh bloody hell, this place again? I thought I'd got enough of it the first time around.

At least the powers that be saw fit to let me continue what I'm good at, brand of Sargent's this time, don't recall that's what it was before but it might've been.

So, I have discovered something that makes this whole crazy London and this whole strange world worth staying in.

I have discovered chocolate wine.

Chocolate orange wine, really, and it's more of an alcoholic chocolate syrup than anything, but it's fantastic with a bit of soda water, or even better, over ice cream.

And ice cream is something else I've just discovered! I suppose I can stay here for a while longer at least.

As much as I like being able to wear trousers whenever and as often as I want, I have come to decide that I don't like this new version of London very much. It's too crowded and too loud and no one seems to care if they mow you won in the street (which is, in fact, refreshingly like my own London) without so much as knowing your name.

I have money, more money than I've had before, apparently being in charge of a successful frozen meat pie company pays well, but I really have no idea what to spend it on. I'm a woman of simple tastes, and used to being penniless.

My house is huge, and empty, and I think the space is beginning to drive me mad. Even my office is larger than the house I used to have. I've also begun to collect snips and snatches of memory that I know aren't mine, and it's quite unnerving to know that whoever I was before was just as almost-mad and just as lonely, filling the emptiness of the house with hours upon hours of television melodramas and and eerie doll-children.

I have begun to discover that this is not the London I know, it is almost the same, but the buildings are huge, the carriages run on what smells like oil and most of the fashions are a bit shocking. Though, I'm certainly not going to complain about being allowed to wear trousers.

My question here is: Would any of you mind showing a young widow around a city she used to know?

Well well well, it turns out that I'm the highest boss of a wildly successful meat pie company.

Take that Lovett you bint.

Amazing, however, that we don't have to bake them fresh and have people buy them at a pie shop, they can be frozen of all things and shipped to regular grocery markets where people can buy them and cook them at home.

Just what in the bloody hell is going on around here?

A hurricane? Inland? At this time of year?

It still looks like London, but it certainly isn't my London, and besides that I'm in some sort of barrister's office, only it's my name on the bloody door!

(repost, whut? I sees no repost heer >,>)
