Care to go get a drink later? The Unnamed Pub is closed this week, alas and alack and woe, but there's other decent places out there. Someplace. Surely.

And you still owe me a match.

Is this in an effort to discover the state of my mind? That seems to be a popular sport these days.

I thought it was an effort to get a drink. That's much easier. I tend to assume the state of your mind is Unbelievably Stoic and leave it at that.

Than we will have a drink.

I might be daring and have more than one drink. You know, just for the adventure.

Did you not participate in a quest to defeat an ancient evil? One would call that more of an adventure than a second pint.

That went beyond adventure and into the realms of perilous undertaking. I've had to give those up. They're bad for your health, you know.

So I have heard.

...yeaaaaaaaaaaaah, I should have thought about that one before saying it. Sorry about that. Though you are looking remarkably well for a man who's been dead several times, you know. No ichor or rotting flesh or anything.

I have never understood why the dead continue to age in Spira. I was twenty five when killed.

A mental thing, maybe? You expect to age, so you do? It sounds like even if you're dead and Unsentenced or whatever it was called, you still go around as if you're alive in most ways. What differences were there?

Unsent.

It is difficult to explain. Mainly it is the anger and despair. It drives most to become monsters.

That sounds too much like a letter that the mailman forgets to deliver.

Huh. I wonder if that's what drove the undead nasties in my world. They certainly didn't seem happy. Granted, I wouldn't be in their position either, I like having skin. It's useful stuff.

Right, back to the point. Not aging would make most people happy, whereas getting older makes a lot of them more angry and despairing, so...

You know what? I think I'm going to just write this one off as it's a mystery and leave it at that.

Probably for the best.
