Before my family starts making jokes about hell freezing over, I figured I'd let people know here. I'm giving up pork and bacon. Partly because I feel bad about devouring it and knowing it grosses out my boyfriend, but also because I miiiiiight have done something and GABEY PLEASE DON'T YELL AT ME.

Most of it, yeah. You're persuasive, what with the puppy eyes.

It's not fair! I can't do any of my normal pouting with you, because you can't even tell!

I suppose I'll take that as a good thing. I know you got Michael to bend to your will, and that's only just the slightest bit impressive, considering he's the most stubborn one of us.

But thank you for doing this for him and yourself. On top of what I told you, it simply isn't the most healthful meat to be putting into your system. Those who eat it with great regularity are faced with a higher risk of heart disease.

I did? I didn't mean to. He just likes me because I hit him.

I think that's true with most meats, though. But you will never get me to give up beef. NEVAR.

That might also be true.

Beef's fine from a dietary standpoint, so long as it's taken in moderation, as with everything. It also is far more healthful than pig. The caloric count for beef is a fourth of what it is for pork, and it has a far better selection and amount of vitamins than pork does. Lakshmi might not like it much, but I'm an advocate for eating cattle.

You know what's best? Buffalo. OH MY GOD, HAVE YOU HAD IT? Brendy makes this buffalo carpaccio that I swear is orgasm inducing.

It's leaner than beef, and has a more wild taste to it, which I approve of greatly. When animals become domesticated and bred strictly for food purposes generation after generation, it truly takes away a certain... something to them. Buffalo hasn't had all the wild bred out of them, and that's why it works better.

I personally enjoy game food for that reason.

Does boar count as a pig? If you don't like that, Brendy gets wild geese sometimes. Next time he does, I'll take you to his restaurant, my treat.

Boar is pig, yes. And your brother's restaurant is one of my favorites particularly because he uses wild game quite frequently. That, and he only groused just a little when I brought the host down onto it for St. Valentine's.

That's what I figured, but I thought I'd ask! And yeah, I know he likes you, that's why he let you, silly.
