I aint never told no one this, Jack, not even m'Daddy, and I'd 'preciate it if y'didn't.

Bobby an' me aint y'average couple. Hell, I don't even know if we ever was a couple.

I guess y'probably know I was with him. .while I was still married. Shit, I was barely 19, real excited to have someone on the side, someone that wasn't like Kurt. Anyhow, went over his way one night and found him . .found him with 'nother man.

Got real freaked out, started yellin' an' cryin' and he. .

It was a bad night, and ever since then it's been a power struggle. Who can hurt the other the most. He's kept his men on th'side, kept sayin' he was too young t'settle down, even after th'divorce. Bobby's too possessive to let nothin' go, reckon he still aint gonna let me off.

But that's how it is. I love him and hate him for not lovin' me, says he does sometimes, but. . it don't feel the same. Don't feel real.

I'd stick by him with it all for th'rest of my life 'f I could.

But I promised myself I wasn't gonna live the way I saw my Mama live, th'way what my Daddy did broke her heart.

Th'way I've let him break mine.

I coulda made him be anything, do anything. I coulda done it, but I didn't Jack, because I'm happier in all this sadness knowing I aint makin' him miserable.

He neglected to mention that part. Nothin' t'do with Bobby's a consolation anymore, an' I know y'first instinct's gonna be to defend 'im, but I've known Bobby a lot longer. Bobby gets what he wants an' leaves you high an' dry.

I've just happened t'last five years. And he wants it t'last longer, but I aint goin' on livin' that way, he decides he wants somethin', he better make damn sure of it.
