Thank you. To everyone who helped me last night. Nate, especially. Miniver, Palm, and yes, even you, Teague. You don't know how much I appreciate all of you being there for me. Thank you.

Day One.

I've cut short my business trip, but I'm staying in this hotel suite in Hong Kong. It's the only place I know of with certainty that has no alcohol.

Miniver, you mentioned that I could stay with you. I don't know. I don't want to impose. Here, I'm safe. But I'm alone. The withdrawal - I don't know if I can do this alone.

Palm, Miniver, I hate to ask. I don't want to be alone. I need help. If either of you could come and stay, just for a while. I don't want to be alone. I'm sorry. I understand if you can't. I'll figure out something else. But I have to ask.

Here's the thing, Kitt -- I don't live in just one place. I kind of wander around between six or seven places as I please. One of those places is my daughter's bookshop. Only it's not really entirely a shop, she takes in strays. Like you. Like me. Marnie's got a whole floor of her townhouse she doesn't use. And my cousin Riordan has... something. He's kind of a creative squatter. He's set himself up a surprisingly classy rat's nest of a place. So you got your pick. Sable's place is always full of people and if I can even FIND her, she's like a nurse or something too. Marnie's place contains Marnie and my baby son but we can set up a place for you to stay on the floor she doesn't use real fast. Riordan's place contains a crossdressing half-fairy who thinks he's James Joyce and will apparently fuck anything that's breathing and willing but he's a great guy. So take your pick. They're all in London. I've also got a place in Moscow. Or I'm happy to hang out wherever takes your fancy.

If it's all right with you, I'll ask my twin sister to come, too. She's fantastic, she used to help me back in the other world when I was real messed up.

	I've found that most people here are like that. More than one place to choose from. I'm not picky. Anywhere is fine, as you don't have to do this for me at all. Thank you. Just don't ask. You'll never understand it until you get up out of that hole you're in and someday it comes to be your turn to do the same for someone. Then you won't wonder anymore, you won't be able to turn away, and that's why.

Why don't I come get you and take you to Sable's shop? The folks there are friends, and it's a little less bonkers than Riordan's leprechaun-burrow.
