I really don't recommend taking a bike down on gravel. Or asphalt. Or anywhere really. Despite Mother's Earth's attempt to chew me up, you're all still stuck with me.

I'm not sure what to think. For twenty years I've been convinced he was dead. But he shows up here, gives blood for me that seemed to have sped up the whole healing process. I shouldn't have been that alert, so soon. And then he came in my room, for all of about ten seconds. We acquired a lot of ghosts those first 8 years of our lives. Might be best if he doesn't come around. I'm not sure he's the kind of person I want my daughter to be exposed to.

Last night she called me because she was scared. She said he went in the basement and told her she wasn't allowed to bother him, and was down there for hours. She was scared and alone, and didn't know what else to do. She was too afraid to even knock on the door to get his attention. She's Riley's age.

When I offer to babysit anytime he needs, he tells me to back off, and that she isn't allowed to call me anymore.

She told me she trusts me more than she trusts her dad right now, and she's only known me two days. There's something really fucking wrong with that.
