Aside from the seemingly shared dream which we all experienced, I've seen neither hide nor hair of these "interesting experiences" you folk insisted I should expect.

Ms. Sable, if I could possibly be entirely ungentlemanly for a moment, would you like to have another night out? Or perhaps, a night in?

That's okay.

Look... I'm not brushing you off for anyone else. I'm not going to ever ignore you or anything on purpose. I'm not going to push you to do anything you're not comfortable with. Just talk to me, luv. I'll listen. Whatever it is you need or want, I'll listen.

Of course there is.

You've given me a lot. You've taken a lot of trouble over me. There's plenty to brush off.

Look... I know you're not as... um... experienced as I am. Just... know that that's okay with me. Really. If you need... space or instruction or anything... I'll help you. I like you for YOU. I know it's weird to be new at this. Hell, even my former husband who had been boinking people for a long time was still sort of "new" at things when he got to me. I'm not like a lot of girls.

I've only been around living people since I was fifteen. I'm really new. And even if you did brush stuff off, it'd be okay. I made you happy for a little while, and that's all I really wanted.

Well then, we're kind of equal, you know.

My mom was a roadie for a lot of years before I was born. She had me in a trailer. I don't even know what state I was born in. I grew up knowing the kinds of relationships she had and I had with other people like us. Road people, people with no homes, people who had babies but didn't get married, people who were all so different but all still the same...

I don't know you, or where you grew up, but I sort of get where you're coming from, Bod. It's really weird to try to live with and live in a world that isn't really yours.

And you do make me happy. Very happy. You make me happy in a way I haven't been able to be happy in a long, long time. I'd like to return the favor someday, if I can.

I don't know what my "real" name is, or what my "real" parents are named, and sometimes I forget that I technically had a sister. I had the kids that died of TB and the witches in the unmarked graves (who weren't witches at all, except for Eliza) and we had games of hide and go seek and I never learned half of the things I was supposed to about living out here because I never had anyone to tell me.

You make me happy too, so it's okay. Really.

Well then, if we make each other happy, let's be together. However is best for us both, whenever we like. We're both a couple of weirdos who missed a lot about whatever "normal" people consider to be "normal" life and its lessons... so... maybe we can teach each other, or learn together, or just... have someone to not be alone with.

What part of it? I've seen a lot. I can show you. Anything you want to see, I can show you.

Well then... let's go see all of it.

Listen... my mom is going to give birth to my little brother within the next couple of weeks. Once she does, let's go travelling. Not for long, just... two days, or something, anywhere you want to go. Think about it, and we'll just go.

We should just take some portkeys until we end up somewhere.

Do you need help with the baby?

We can do that. That sounds perfect.

And... I don't really know. I don't THINK so. I mean... I don't think my mom NEEDS help. We've got a big family and I guess a lot of them will want to babysit and stuff. But if you like kids... I wouldn't object to you coming over to help me if I ever get put on babysitting duty.

I don't want to take away from anyone else's experience with this, but it is kind of weird for me, having a full brother born when I've only known my father's name for less than 2 years and he's gay anyway. So... I guess what I'm saying is I'd appreciate having a friend around for that. If you want to just hang out. Nothing deep or whatever, just... hang out.

I can be your friend.

Kids are usually pretty nice and easy to get along with. Babies especially. All they do is eat and sleep and cry, and when they cry it's because they're hungry, or because they're tired, or because they need a new diaper, or for no reason at all. The first three you can fix easily. The last one you can't so there's no reason to worry about it. And kids are kind of funny in that once they decide they like you, they like you forever and they trust you and want to be with you. I love children. I'll teach you how to be with them, when my brother is born.

I'm glad you're my friend, Bod. I need a friend like you. And I like you. You sort of calm me down. It's lovely.

There were a few babies in the graveyard, I took care of them. But I don't know how to feed them and things like that. The emotional stuff, I'm good with, but the physical, I have no clue.

I'm glad you're my friend too, Sable. You're my second one ever.

That's the easy part. I'll teach you. Don't worry, you'll learn faster than anything.

I'm honored to be good enough to be your second frind! Can I ask who was your first?

Her name was Scarlett. Her family lived by my graveyard for a while when we were little, and she moved back when she was fourteen or so.

Of course. But she stopped liking me after I killed Jack Frost. Well, I didn't kill him, I just led him toward it.

Oh, not the nipping at your nose guy. This was an assassin in a guild where they gave up their name to be Jack ______. They were called the Jacks of All Trades. He was the one who killed my family.
