Gentlemen... Dorian and Bod... I happen to enjoy the company of BOTH of you without prejudice at the moment.

I do apologize if I have somehow deceived either of you. It was never my intention to do so. I thought it was understood that what I have with both of you is open and casual. If either of you would prefer to be exclusive, please tell me so. I will try to respect your boundaries and preferences as long as you respect mine. But I'm not playing favorites here. I would like to continue to see you both until anything more serious develops. I would also like to be able to see other people, should the whim take me, without asking leave from either of you, unless either of you tell me that you'd rather I did.

Communication, gentlemen, is important in any relationship. I'm sorry I did not explicitly inform either of you that I had no immediate intentions of being exclusive with you. Consider yourselves informed. And if that arrangement is all right with you both, yes, I would very much like to see both of you again, in whatever capacity you please.

You should understand something about me, though, Bod -- I'm not going to keep myself for you until you ask me to, and I'm never going to ask you to keep yourself for me. I'm going to mess around until you tell me you're uncomfortable with it, and I'm going to tell you when any messing around you do makes me uncomfortable. All I ask is honesty. If you want to know who I've been with and when, we can discuss that. Otherwise, I can promise you that whomever my partners have been, I do always make certain I am medically safe, and I expect the same of you, should you ever decide that you want us to go that far. If not, that's okay too.

I like you, but also I respect you. I come from a background that is probably somewhat different from whatever you've been used to. But I will never intentionally hurt you. Just... know that.

Well then, we're kind of equal, you know.

My mom was a roadie for a lot of years before I was born. She had me in a trailer. I don't even know what state I was born in. I grew up knowing the kinds of relationships she had and I had with other people like us. Road people, people with no homes, people who had babies but didn't get married, people who were all so different but all still the same...

I don't know you, or where you grew up, but I sort of get where you're coming from, Bod. It's really weird to try to live with and live in a world that isn't really yours.

And you do make me happy. Very happy. You make me happy in a way I haven't been able to be happy in a long, long time. I'd like to return the favor someday, if I can.

I don't know what my "real" name is, or what my "real" parents are named, and sometimes I forget that I technically had a sister. I had the kids that died of TB and the witches in the unmarked graves (who weren't witches at all, except for Eliza) and we had games of hide and go seek and I never learned half of the things I was supposed to about living out here because I never had anyone to tell me.

You make me happy too, so it's okay. Really.

And... I don't really know. I don't THINK so. I mean... I don't think my mom NEEDS help. We've got a big family and I guess a lot of them will want to babysit and stuff. But if you like kids... I wouldn't object to you coming over to help me if I ever get put on babysitting duty.

I don't want to take away from anyone else's experience with this, but it is kind of weird for me, having a full brother born when I've only known my father's name for less than 2 years and he's gay anyway. So... I guess what I'm saying is I'd appreciate having a friend around for that. If you want to just hang out. Nothing deep or whatever, just... hang out.

Kids are usually pretty nice and easy to get along with. Babies especially. All they do is eat and sleep and cry, and when they cry it's because they're hungry, or because they're tired, or because they need a new diaper, or for no reason at all. The first three you can fix easily. The last one you can't so there's no reason to worry about it. And kids are kind of funny in that once they decide they like you, they like you forever and they trust you and want to be with you. I love children. I'll teach you how to be with them, when my brother is born.

I'm glad you're my friend, Bod. I need a friend like you. And I like you. You sort of calm me down. It's lovely.
