[Vampires] For the record, the idiot mortal of the other day is alive. Out of curiousity, I met with him. He is harmless, mostly. A personal agenda, like all bleeders, but nothing damaging on a large scale for anyone's privacy. In case anyone was entertaining the thought of killing him, it's unnecessary.

Is that sort of bold... shit common in your worlds? It seems ridiculous, to me.

Where I'm from? Not really. I had a reputation, you could say.

As it should be. The boy acted like I was some prostitute for him to get a fix from. The entire night was bizarre.

How have you been, Calliope?

I hope you hurt him.

Oh, I'm well. My daughter's being delightfully creative, my sire's sire is here - which is awfully fun, and my husband is dear as ever. How about you?

Now, if I did that, what hope would there be of him coming back? I was admittedly too shocked at his balls- excuse- to do much.

I do remember Johanna mentioning her paints, was it? Wonderful. I might have to come see that. Dare I ask how your sire's sire is 'fun'? And give my regards to Nick. As for me, I'm... doing well. The witch has found himself a new shop to set up in, keeping him busy. I met a darling in London a few days ago, who is staying in my home there. She's troubled, I've been trying to get her story from her. Other than that, much the same.

You were shocked that they came into play at all, or at his bravery? Don't worry about being crass, I do it all the time.

She's painted my study, you must see it. And it's fun because Jack's so scared of me, you see. It's fun teasing them. And I shall.

You're too kind to everyone, you do realize.

A little of both. Little bastard got off on it. Not that that's an uncommon reaction, but there's usually at least some separation between it, and all.

The next time you're available, I'll come see it. And I see- as I've said, I don't really quite know what I'd do if my sire arrived. The man was a bastard. And not always in the good way.

I realize it more every day, and yet. I don't see what to do for it.

Ugh. Humans.

Oh, Jack hates me. I never intended to sire him. Actually, I didn't, but it's a long story. I left him to die. ... hee, not so long after all!

Perhaps there isn't anything to do for it.

Didn't even have the decency to reciprocate, and yet. Alive.

I see. That'd probably cause a bit of a rift, yes.

And isn't that a sad state of affairs?

And see, dear, this is where you're too generous.

It wouldn't have if he'd had the common sense to die, or if the Captain had had the good sense not to turn every stray dog he met.

It simply is.

As I said, I like to think of it as an investment in my future.

My House was much the same way- strength in numbers, or some bullshit.

Yes, well. I still catch myself off guard sometimes, and that is some feat.

I knew he was an idiot the minute I talked to him. What sort of human would do that?

They were relatively common in my world, actually. Granted, most of them were completely delusional about what being a donor entailed, as well as batshit insane, and were killed just to discredit the idea. But yes, he is an idiot. I have asked him to keep his ideas to himself, and speak to me if he needs something else. He shouldn't bother anyone else, again.

I told him to speak to you. He was quite an odd person, but truly? A personal agenda?

I must admit I was shocked when he told me he was willing to "donate" blood. Thank you for meeting with him on behalf of us all.

As I told Rosalie, they were common in my world. Either those that wanted to die, wanted to be turned, or were looking for blood themselves. I consider it easier to believe than true altrusim, at least.

I've asked him to bother me the next time he gets under such a delusion. He's not one of the dangerous ones, but we don't need someone screaming our existence over these things.
