I find myself feeling oddly...lonely. Really, it makes no logical sense. I have 282 friends on MySpace, which is 33% more than I had back home. Even given the loss of Leonard, Howard and Rajesh, I'm still coming out ahead. And not having to worry about even reciprocation of unexpected Christmas gifts is a relief.

Still. Something seems... off.

Yeah, but there's really no substitute for social interaction, is there? They've done studies, and it's apparently essential for proper psychosocial development. Go get a hug.

Oh, please. I'm thirty years old. I think I'm past psychosocial development, regardless of whose stages you're using.

Besides, it's cold and flu season. I don't think I'll be hugging anyone until the epidemic passes, thank you.

I'm sure Maslow's glad you're ignoring some of the physiological needs on his pyramid, thereby leaving it a really structurally dangerous pyramid.

Why do you like crushing Egyptians?

Though you do have a point about the flu, though I've never been sick. Healers are awesome.

Well, if Maslow's building materials were as soft as his science, it was never structurally sound to begin with.

Psychology isn't really a science, but you could look at it from an anthropological point of view.

You're smart, and in a society that no longer needs strong men to do hunting or gathering except in small, underpaid and undervalued subsets, we need more smart me. To wit: go get laid and knock someone up.

(My name's Soren, by the way, how are you?)

Sheldon Cooper.

Oh, I thought about contributing to the human race by donating sperm once, but the premise was flawed. There's no guarantees my genes will lead to the next Nobel prize winner. My sister is dumb as a rock.

Maybe your parents dropped her by accident? And still, it can't hurt to try. Sex is good for you.

Hm, accident. Maybe.

Do I need to refer you back to my earlier comment about flu season?

Or on purpose, depends on how mean your parents are or were.

I have a healer, remember? I've gotten laid four times today, and I'm pretty sure it's why I'm fit as a fiddle.

I seriously doubt that would help any. Besides, I have work to do.

It is hard to play Klingon Boggle alone, though.

What do you do?

... is that Boggle in Klingon? I only speak Swedish and Al Bhed.

I'm a physicist. Most of my work is in string theory. Formerly it was bosonic string theory, but lately I've been leaning towards heterotic string theory. Though, trying to figure out my sudden change in interdimensional coordinates has been occupying a lot of my time.

Of course. What else would it be?

You'll have to excuse me, but I laugh whenever anyone says heterotic string theory. Though you'd like my fiance, he knows a lot more about that than I do. I'm a writer, so physics were never really my thing.

Playing Boggle with Klingons, for one. There could be some here. Though that would likely end badly. If you wanted to play D&D, I'd do that with you.

Why do you laugh? I don't see how heterotic string theory is any more amusing than bosonic string theory.

Oh my. That sounds like a dangerous game. Oh, here's an interesting conundrum. We know who the victor should be when it's droid versus Wookiee, but who should you let win when it's Klingon versus Wookiee. Either way, someone's losing an arm.

D&D, hm? Which edition do you play?

It's a long story.

It'd be an honorable loss of an arm, though!

Second Edition, though I dabble in third. 3.5 and 4.0 can blow me, though.

Most things about heterotic string theory are.

Indeed.

Hmm. I'll have to look at my schedule and see if there's a good night. Obviously Wednesday can still be Halo night, but Klingon Boggle night may have to be replaced if I can't find anyone else to play. Which is a real shame if there are real Klingons around. I'd hate to get out of practice.

Do you like Thai food?

That, I can agree with.

I don't know if there are any real Klingons around, but if there are, you should play.

I do, actually!

With the Klingons? Are you crazy? No, I meant play with other humans to keep my Klingon in top form. I prefer my limbs attached.

Good. I suppose we could have a trial game before we set anything in stone. Tuesday nights?

Okay, that's a fair point. Unless you're some sort of expert with the bat'leth.

Works for me. Want me to bring my own PHB, DMG, and MM?

Yes, please. That would make things considerably easier. I assume you'll be bringing your own dice as well.

Who's running this game?

Of course.

Doesn't matter to me, if you're more comfortable as a DM, we can do that.

Hm. I do enjoy keeping a screen between myself and the rest of the world. But as long as we actually play by the rules unlike some groups I'm fine with either.

How about you DM, then? I'll take writer's liberties and then you won't have any fun. Do you want me to see if I can find other people? My fiance plays too.

I suppose it would be easier to play with more than just one person. I'm used to groups of four. That's a total of four, counting you and myself.

I might be a humble writer, but I've mastered counting. (That's a joke, by the way.)

Okay, so with you, Cassidy, and myself, that's three. Would you like to find the fourth?

Yes, well, some people may have thought I meant a party of four, not counting the dungeon master. I was just setting the parameters for the counting.

Um. Well. Do you think Spiderman would like to play?
