It's come to my attention that this is not the opera house any longer nor does it seem like the same century or country. London didn't seem this bustling from photographs before.

2008? I lost over a century. How did this happen?

I am Erik, but I have the reputation as the Phantom of the Opera.

That vortex thing seems to pick up people from different time periods and sticks everyone here.

Which do you prefer I call you then?

I wonder if Christine is here then. Perhaps she has been drawn here as well.

Erik is quite alright, mademoiselle.

I'm afraid I don't know a Christine, but I really don't know.. one damn person in this place. No one I know is here.

Okay then Erik, you can call me Jo if you want.

Jo. Very simple name. Very unisex in this time, I see.

Neither do I. But I'm used to being alone and taking care of myself. This will be no different, and I'm sure I can adapt very quickly.

Are you from this time period?

Ah yeah well, it's not technically my real name. It's Siobhan, but my dad thought no one would be able to say it.

Yeah I'm pretty used to it too. It was getting better though before.. this .. thing put me here.

Yeah I am. It's not so bad. What time period are you from then?

Siobhan? What is the nationality of that name? I don't believe I've ever heard of that one.

Late 1800s, France. Are you not...familiar with the tale of the Phantom of the Opera?

It's Irish. Well sort of Irish, sort of Native American.

Wow, that's a big difference. This.. internet thing is good for finding out stuff though. Wow.. yeah, I am. That's you? Holy shit. That's kinda awesome.

Native American? The Indian type people I've read about in Columbus' travels? Interesting.

Yes, it is. With my failed attempt at a subnormal life in the past, perhaps the times now will be different for someone such as myself.

... Yeah. Indians. Well my kind are different then the ones who live in India. But I'm sure you know that.

I'm sure they will be. Music is .. much more wide spread. Ooh! If you look in your pocket you might have an id or something and it'll tell you where you live, and possibly .. a job? I'm just a cop though.

Oh, hmm. Let's see now. I live in a building in London, and there is a CEO passcard thing for the Virgin Records building.

I wonder if I own these virgin records? How very...ironic.

It sounds like it, yeah. That's impressive. It means you're massively rich. Forgive my .. total ignorance, but did they have records back then?

It's a record company. Which is like uh.. you put out music for lots of people who make music. Singers and bands and stuff. And Virgin is uh.. well it's just the name, I.. hope.

No, we did not have records then. I'm still unfamiliar with these methods of recording. I have much to learn especially if I own a business that produces music for the masses.

Ah, well the virgin part I referenced was me.

Ooh okay. I didn't think so, but well, I didn't want to be a total tool. It's called a record company, but people don't really listen to records that much anymore. But yeah it's how you record music so you can listen to them. Now it's mostly cds.. which are like records but smaller.. and mp3s which is.. how you listen to music on a computer like the one you're on now.

Try www.wikipedia.com it's got just about everything. Just type whatever you want to know about into the box that says search and click the button.

... Oh. Well. I doubt they named it after you.. but.. who knows right? Besides, lots of people are virgins now a days.

This is a very digital era, as I see. Indeed, I have much to learn. I will have to spend a week or so in this flat I own reading to catch up. I'm certain I can learn enough to get by in a week and learn more as I go.

I doubt that those virgins were forced into said position like I was.

Good idea. Really, the internet has everything. Mostly porn, but everything. You seem smart enough how to figure all this stuff out, and I'm sure you can. You're one of those musical geniuses and all.

Ah.. well.. no I guess not. But! There's a list of people who think that when they get to heaven they get like 42 virgins, so you're kinda a hot commodity.

They're a hot commodity? I would think that female virgins were more in demand than a male. Males tend to be..uneducated in the matter of sex when virgins and therefore do not know how to please a woman. Merely just to achieve climax. Luckily, I have extensively researched the matter, so I will not be one of those types.

I suppose I should check underneath my mask to see if my face is still the same.

Yeah I guess female ones more than male ones, but everyone's got a fetish or a kink these days anyways. And I uh... am sure you... probably do know what you're doing.

Might be for the best. If it is.. well doctor's these days can do all sorts of things.

Kink? I'm unfamiliar with this term. Fetish, I understand that one.

Physicians are much improved? I didn't have much of a face to improve upon, but if technology is this advanced, thy could give me a new one. Since money is no object any more, I'm sure they could do something. I'll wait until I journey home to see. If it is, I wouldn't want cries of Monster! to fill the streets.

Kink's life fetish in a way. Basically kinks are.. things that you like to do that aren't.. the normal plain sex.

Very much improved. They probably can give you a new one if that's what you want. But I seriously doubt anyone would yell at you. Well maybe, people are douchebags. You can pretty much get any kind of enhancement you can think of.

Douche...bag. That's a strange term. A bag of douche. What is a douche?

I'm considering asking you for a dinner or...tea, perhaps? I make a very excellent Russian tea if you'd care to sit and chat face to face, so to speak.

Uh.. heh. A douche is.. well it's this .. stuff.. I dunno, but when a chick's on her.. uh.. period.. she uses it to wash herself out. It's disgusting. Hence calling someone a douchebag is .. a bad term

Oh um.. yeah! Dinner.. or tea.. I mean whichever you'd be more comfortable with. If you ask, I'll say yes.

I think I know what those are. The ballet rats made them with vinegar and boiled clean water when they cold get their hands on the materials. The menstrual cycle, correct. Those were very...unclean women at times. So this has become a derogatory term in this time? Hmm. Interesting.

Join me for tea then? I, um, do not entertain often so forgive my severe lack in social skills. I suppose you can come to this...building I am in. It's the actual company. I could send a car for you, I'm sure.

Yeah that sounds about right. Though I looked it up and it said .. it's just a .. cleaning out various.. orifices.. so I guess it's not just.. up there or whatever. But yeah. Derogatory. It's fun if you put douche with another word that doesn't go with douche, like uh.... douchewaffle.

Tea's good with me. I seriously don't have any social skills either. Oh um. Sure. That works I guess, since.. I don't have my car with me. My poor Petite. I'm [address]
