WHO: Christien and Sydney
WHERE: The Lighthouse
WHEN: [Flashback] April 24, 2014; early afternoon
WHAT: Friends doing a little bit of pre-zombie exploring.
CHALLENGE: 4 (pre-zombies)
For the most part it had been a relaxing vacation - which for Christien meant that he'd been free to spend most of it sitting out on the deck of his brother's beach hut and strumming his guitar. That didn't mean that was all he'd been allowed to do though, between his brother and best friend he had already been forced to participate in a few of the touristy things that the resort offered, most of which he had enjoyed. The boat tour had not been one of those things - there had been nothing good about sitting on the rocking waves in his opinion. He'd spent the rest of the afternoon napping away the nausea. This morning had seemed much like it would be another casual day, but probably he should have know better now that he had Sydney around the island to talk him into leaving the comfort of the warm, breezy lounge chair he'd claimed as his own. Yet even when she had joined them for lunch he hadn't been expecting that it would end with him agreeing to spend his afternoon going on some sort of adventure. At least heading up toward the coastline to check out the lighthouse seemed like a tame idea - though it made him vaguely wonder if this wasn't just a ploy she was using to ease him into something more fitting for her adventurous spirit. It clearly couldn't be too much of a concern, since it never occurred to him to tell her no. "How is it that you do not even seem to be out of breath?" The rocky terrain surrounding the lighthouse was harder to navigate, it made the short walk from the hotel to here seem much easier in comparison. At least on the flat ground every other step didn't feel like he was about to land on his face. |
