Who: Michael and Orla
What: a first date of sorts
Where: a muggle park in London
When: Wednesday, early evening
Rating: Um, dunno PG 13?
Status: Closed/In Progress

Michael had been looking forward to this since they'd decided to get together. Orla was just cool as hell and he hoped this went well. He showered, shaved and got dressed. He stayed casual since they were going to the park, but made sure he was still fairly neat. He put on a vintage t-shirt and some jeans with a courderoy blazer and his chucks. He attempted to fix his hair, which he liked to think was artfully messy and apparated to London.

He wasn't too far from where they'd agreed to meet and on the way he stopped in a small flower shop. He didn't want to get roses or something that seemed cheesy or overdone. Michael spotted  a container of loose sunflowers. He picked what he thought looked like the brightest one and bought it. With a happy smile and a little hum he headed to Orla's flat. Finding the door, he knocked on it and leaned against the frame waiting for her to answer. He sniffed at the sunflower and smiled.

"Sure I'll help you out," he smiled. "Just let me know when." Michael didn't mind helping her, especially if it meant she'd avoid further injury. Plus, he'd get to spend more time with her and that was good too.

"Oh thanks," he replied. Michael ran his free hand through his hair. He thought he was fairly good, but those drawings were kind of rough to him. He was a bit of a perfectionist when it came to his art. "Yeah I'll let you know when I finish it. You can come down to the bar and check it out." He looked up at the sky and smiled. "I'm glad it's such a nice day. I haven't been on the swings in ages."

"Oh you are so awesome!" Orla was thrilled not only would she not have to worry about lugging her stupid stuff and pulling something again Michael would be there and that was just awesome. Perhaps this moving was a blessing in disguise. She had yet another reason to see Michael. "Thanks though really."

"Oh you're welcome." Orla thought he was great but anyone was compared to her. "Thanks I look forward to it." She was looking forward to seeing his drawings but once more it was a reason to see him. "I know I haven't been on the swings in ages either."

being sick and studying sucks. I'm beginning to ponder chopping my own head off.

Michael just laughed when she called him awesome. It wasn't anything big really. He was more than happy to help her. "I remember being a kid and thinking it was so daring to stand up on the and swing as high as I could. Though I knew I was a wizard and for some reason I thought if I flew off I could actually fly." He chuckled sofly and shook his head. "Never did work, though. My brother got quite a kick out of that explanation while mum was pouring bone mending potions down my throat."

The park gates were coming into view. He liked this one. The flowers were so colorful around the entry and he loved the old trees. Michael felt the familiar itch for his charcoals when he looked at them. "The swings are pretty close to the entry if I remember correctly."

Orla was rather amused as she listened to him. She could definitely picture him in a cape attempting to jump from a swing. She laughed at the mental image. "Please tell me you had a cape on when this jump took place? It would make it that much more amazing." Orla laughed almost giggling at the thought once more of Michael jumping from a swing in a cape. "I am sorry you had to deal with the bone mending potion it is gross, or so I hear. When I broke a bone I did it the old muggle way since my mum is muggle." Orla didn't mind talking about her mum ever.

"Yup they are," she said giving his hand a squeeze. "So what are we going to do if there is only one swing? What if kids are using them?" Orla raised her eyebrow at him as she continued to walk with him.

"Well I was about eight and I didn't have an actual cape so it was more like a towel," he smiled. "Oh that had to be annoying. Don't muggles wear those things on their arms for weeks?" That was one thing that he was greatful for over the years. Even though his dad was a muggle, he could appreciate the advantage of wizard medicine. "My mum is a healer, which is good because with two boys there was always someone getting hurt. Even my sister, Eva, was a bit of a tomboy."

Michael looked around the park, grinning as she squeezed his hand. "Well you know I'm not above scaring off a few kids if it's required," he joked. "If there's just one you can go on it. I'll even push you if you like," he grinned at her as they began to walk into the park gates.
